Dukes Are Forever

Dukes Are Forever by Anna Harrington is $2.99! This is a historical romance with what seems to be an enemies to lovers plot. It’s the 1st book in the Secret Life of Scoundrels series. Some readers found the heroine a bit TSTL, but others really loved the hero and his quest for revenge. It has a 3.7-star rating on Goodreads.
ALL’S FAIR IN LOVE
Battlefields and barrooms hold much more interest for Edward Westover, Duke of Strathmore, than a little girl’s fondness for dolls and lace. When he takes possession of his enemy’s estate, everything that villain held dear-including his daughter-belongs to Edward. Hire a governess, arrange a dowry, give a few reassurances, and be off on his way-that’s Edward’s plan. But he’s in for the shock of his life. For his new ward is a beautiful, impetuous, and utterly irresistible woman . . .. . . AND WAR
Kate Benton is stunned. Who is this arrogant, infuriating man who’s invited himself into her home and taken over her life? Her vow: to do everything in her power to convince him to leave her-and Brambly House-alone. Yet as chilly days melt into sultry nights, Kate sees glimpses of kindness underneath Edward’s cool façade . . . and a passionate nature that takes her breath away. There’s so much she doesn’t know about this man. But does she dare trust this devilish duke with her heart?Add to Goodreads To-Read List →

Tall, Dark, and Vampire by Sara Humphreys is $2.51 at Amazon and $2.99 elsewhere! This is the first book in the Dead in the City paranormal romance series. It has a hero and heroine who are both vampires, which I think is a great change. It’s also a second chance romance. Readers enjoyed the history between the two main characters, though in terms of the writing, some felt there was more telling than showing.
He’s dying to have her…
She always knew Fate was cruel…
The last person Olivia Hollingsworth expected to see at her Greenwich Village vampire club was her one true love, Doug Paxton—whom she believed to be dead for centuries. Olivia thought she had moved on, but when Doug reappears, her heart knows she’d rather die than lose him again.

Sometimes love can take you by surprise.

My Fair Highlander by Mary Wine is $1.99! This is the second book in the English Tudor series. Readers enjoyed the heroine’s growth in the book and appreciated the hero’s gentleness with the heroine (kidnapping aside). Also, content warning for an attempted rape. This book has a 3.9-star rating on Goodreads.
Jemma Ramsden is a wild thing in a noblewoman’s body-so thinks Gordon Dwyre, Laird Barras, watching her galloping on horseback through her brother’s lands. Bold, headstrong, beautiful: the perfect bride for a lusty Scots warrior. He might be able to convince her, too, if she would hear his suit. But Barras doesn’t wait to be handed what he wants. When he’s forced to rescue her from English ruffians, he makes sure she stays safe-by locking her in his castle.
Jemma is hardly an eager captive. She has no horse and no freedom, and she is an Englishwoman in a hostile Scots keep: a stranger without work or friend. Barras seems determined to charm her-even tempt forbidden desires, a daring game that leaves Jemma desperate for more. But with passion, love, and a new life within her grasp, Jemma is in more danger than even she knows…

It’s not a sale item, but those who read Anne Cleeland’s Acton and Doyle series might wish to know a new book has just released: Murder in Spite (The Doyle & Acton murder series Book 8).
I read the title of the second book as TALL, DARK, AND VAPID. I plead insanity.
@Darlynne: OK, I can definitely imagine “Tall, Dark, and Vapid” as a romantic comedy. Would read!
Is it just me or is the idea of a vampire named Doug kinda funny?
There is a great series about a vampire named Fred by Drew Hayes. The first is, “The Utterly Uninteresting and Unadventurous Tales of Fred, the Vampire Accountant.”
Well, what’s so bad about Doug for a vampire! Or, Jeffrey or Edward. If we’ve got American vampires from the 1800s they’d most like be named something like Arthur or Fred or Albert which were popular names at the time. Of course maybe it looks more romantic is we name him Phred.
