Six Impossible Things

Six Impossible Things by Elizabeth Boyle is $2.99! This is the sixth book in the Rhymes with Love historical romance series. Redheadedgirl wrote a Lightning Review and gave this one a B:
What I liked best about Six Impossible Things was Rosalie and her determination that she would use her talents to help King and Country, whether King and Country liked it or not. She’s a patriot in the purest sense, and she’s got a brilliant mind that’s working two steps ahead of everyone else.
In the sixth novel of the enchanting Rhymes With Love series from New York Times bestselling author Elizabeth Boyle, a nobleman falls in love with a beautiful spy he must protect…
Lord Rimswell is a man of honor and absolutes. If he says something is impossible, it is. Yet his life of right and wrong is turned upside down when he finds himself in a compromising situation with the most unyielding, yet maddeningly beautiful, woman in London. If only he had not given in to the irresistible temptation to kiss her. Now he must marry her.
Miss Roselie Stratton is the very definition of impossible—headstrong, outspoken, and carrying a reticule of secrets that could ruin more than her reputation. Kissing Brody is hardly the most ruinous thing Roselie has ever done as a secret agent for the Home Office…nor will she let a marriage of convenience stop her from continuing her work. Little does Roselie realize that she has underestimated Brody’s resolve to keep her safe—for he has hopelessly fallen in love with her and is determined to do the impossible by stealing her heart in return.

The Fixer by HelenKay Dimon is $1.99! This book was featured on December 2016’s Hide Your Wallet and I was super pumped about it. As of today, it has a 3.8-star rating on Goodreads, and many readers loved the dynamic between the hero and heroine. However, some found the book a bit repetitive, which slowed down the pacing.
He’s known only as Wren. A wealthy, dangerously secretive man, he specializes in making problems disappear. A professional fixer, Wren hides a dark past, but his privacy is shattered when Emery Finn seeks him out—and what she wants from him is very personal.
Some people disappear against their will. Emery’s job is to find them and bring closure. Wren is the only person who can help solve Emery’s own personal mystery: the long-ago disappearance of her cousin. Just tracking down the sexy, brooding Wren is difficult enough. Resisting her body’s response to him will prove completely impossible.
Anonymity is essential to Wren’s success, yet drawn by Emery’s loyalty and sensuality, he’s pulled out of the shadows. But her digging is getting noticed by the wrong people. And as the clues start to point to someone terrifyingly close, Wren will have to put his haunted past aside to protect the woman he loves.

In Safe Arms by Lee Christine is $1.99! This is book two in the Grace & Poole series, though it can be read on its own. The hero is involved in some seriously illegal stuff, which is a turn off for some readers. Though the description hints that this may be false. Feel free to check out Goodreads reviews for this one if you want spoilers before you buy.
Smooth, seductive and savage: Lee Christine returns to the dark, criminal underbelly of Sydney with her follow-up to In Safe Hands.
Legal secretary Josephine Valenti has no idea why a notorious bikie president would be contacting her, but when he is murdered in front of her eyes, she knows that she is in very deep trouble. Fleeing to her home, she’s intercepted by Nate Hunter, a man she used to know and lust after…a man she used to care about.
However, Nate has changed. His leathers and his bike tell of a lifestyle that Josie can’t begin to accept or understand. His is a life of drugs, money laundering and prostitution.
But all is not what it seems, and Josie must fight harder than she ever has before — for the truth, for what’s right, and, ultimately, for the man who still has a hold of her heart.

The Pages of the Mind by Jeffe Kennedy is $2.99! This is a fantasy romance with an arranged marriage. Readers loved the scholarly heroine, but found that the second half of the book had a very different feel than the first half. It has a 3.8-star rating on Goodreads. I will also mention that this was one of the reader recommended books from our previous RT Reader Rec parties.
An Orphan’s Throne
Magic has broken free over the Twelve Kingdoms. The population is beset by shapeshifters and portents, landscapes that migrate, uncanny allies who are not quite human…and enemies eager to take advantage of the chaos.
Dafne Mailloux is no adventurer–she’s a librarian. But the High Queen trusts Dafne’s ability with languages, her way of winnowing the useful facts from a dusty scroll, and even more important, the subtlety and guile that three decades under the thumb of a tyrant taught her.
Dafne never thought to need those skills again. But she accepts her duty. Until her journey drops her into the arms of a barbarian king. He speaks no tongue she knows but that of power, yet he recognizes his captive as a valuable pawn. Dafne must submit to a wedding of alliance, becoming a prisoner-queen in a court she does not understand. If she is to save herself and her country, she will have to learn to read the heart of a wild stranger. And there are more secrets written there than even Dafne could suspect…

LORD RIMSWELL. Best porn name ever!
The Princess Trap by Talia Hibbert is currently FREE at Amazon. (Also, a new cover and I miss the old one.)
@TAM! I was going to comment on that!
Also ‘Wren’? The Carolina Wren is an adorable little brown bird that likes to sing a lot. It’s my favorite bird, but doesn’t call up romance feelings
@TAM–I cannot believe the name Rimswell made it into this book.
@Deborah: I actually like the new cover better; I don’t like cigars & cigarettes being presented as sexy on romance covers. Also, when I just downloaded THE PRINCESS TRAP, it showed up on my kindle with the old cover anyway. This has happened to me several times when I download a book that now has a new cover—when I look for it on my kindle, it still has the old cover. Ah, technology!
As for Lord Rimswell, that name is only acceptable in pseudo-Victorian porn—and, even then, only if the heroine’s name is Lady Goodhead.
Rimswell is one thing, but Brody? O-o…
I was not a big fan of The Fixer – I remember thinking that the hero was both not alpha enough and waaaaaaayyyy too alpha which sounds impossible, but was exactly what I felt. Maybe he was alpha when he shouldn’t be and not alpha when he should? Also CW for really really dark back stories for both the hero and heroine.
“The pages of the mind” had so much promise but it ended up being DNF for me, the heroine, the consistent undertones of exoticism re the hero, and the insta-lust got on my nerves.
Anyta Sunday’s ‘Scorpio Hates Virgo’ is free on Amazon today – super adorable M/M with sorta enemies-to-lovers. Book #2 of the Signs of Love series, but each can be read as a stand-alone. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a feel-good romance!
