The Beautiful Ashes
The Beautiful Ashes by Jeaniene Frost is $2.99! This is the first book in her Broken Destiny series, which is a New Adult paranormal romance/urban fantasy. Some readers mentioned having some confusion as they weren’t sure if Frost was trying to write something similar to New Adult, young adult, or a straight adult urban fantasy. However, others thought the blend of action and suspense balanced well with the romantic aspects.
Sometimes, falling in love really is the end of the world… don’t miss this fan-favorite tale from New York Times bestselling author Jeaniene Frost.

The Duke Meets His Match
The Duke Meets His Match by Tina Gabrielle is 99c! This is a historical romance with an enemies to lovers vibe. The hero knows of the heroine’s background and is trying to stop her from marrying his friend. Some readers wished the book was a bit longer, but others loved the back and forth between the main characters.
The daughter of an infamous art forger, Chloe Somerton grew up poor. Desperate to aid her sisters, she’d picked a pocket…or two. Now circumstances have changed, and Chloe has a chance to marry a young, wealthy lord. Only his mentor—a dark, dangerous duke—stands in her way. The duke knows about her past, and she’ll do anything to keep him from telling.
The moment Michael Keswick, the Duke of Cameron, sees Chloe Somerton, he recognizes her as a fraud. The stunning beauty with sapphire eyes and golden hair now appears to be a proper lady, but he knows better. What begins as a battle of wills soon escalates into a fierce attraction. In Chloe, Michael finds peace from the memories of war, but he refuses to marry…and she won’t settle for anything less.

Getting Real
Getting Real by Ainslie Paton is 99c at Amazon! I think it’s $3.99 at other vendors right now. This is a contemporary romance with a rock star heroine and forced proximity. Some readers said that the heroine is unlikeable, if that is or isn’t your jam. Others also said this book is surprisingly sweet.
A romance about confronting fears, making music, and learning to be true.
Rielle Mainline is a rock star with a hardcore image, a troubled heart and a twenty-five city tour to front with her band, Ice Queen. She should be ecstatic. But the tour includes Sydney and Rielle has spent years trying to deal with the tragedy that happened there.
Roadie, Jake Reed knows Rielle’s reputation as a prize bitch will make being Ice Queen’s tour manager a challenge. Jake’s comfortable he can handle her, until he meets her, and then he’s thrown off-balance, unsure if he wants kiss her or throttle her.
Sparks fly, tempers flare and boundaries are crossed. It’s rock star verses roadie, alpha girl verses the boy-next-door and neither of them will survive unchanged.

Someone to Care, Mary Balogh’s newest book, is on sale for $1.99 to Kindle readers in the US.
@ Kareni – thanks for the tip! It is now on my Kindle. 🙂
I glimpsed the second title mid-scroll and read it as Those Beautiful Abs.
Clearly, I need tea, but it’s too damn hot and iced just doesn’t do it for me.
Okay, tour manager and roadie are not interchangeable terms. Just saying.
The musician/rockstar plot has been done ad nauseam. IMO
I love a good rockstar book myself. Speaking of, the one in the banner ads is 99cents on Kindle and it looks like an ugly cry book that I must own right now:
“My One Regret” Claudia Burgoa

@Kareni My Amazon says $7.99. Where are you getting $1.99?
I think it might ble Someone to Love that is on sale.
@Ren Benton I’ve been an iced tea hater for years, but my local hipster coffee shop tricked me into trying a drink with home-brewed iced tea, almond milk, and lavender simple syrup, and it is GOLD.
I respect the haterade but you may yet be converted, is all I’m sayin’.
Ah, methinks @Kareni mistook Someone to Love, on sale for $1.99, for Someone to Care which is not.
And seconding the “roadies are not tour managers”- reading that kicked me right out. If the blurb is that bad/wrong, I can’t imagine what the book is like. Pass.
I just read Scarlett Cole’s latest rock star romance, “Lennon Reborn” in her series about a Toronto based band Preload. The story, like the rest in the series, failed to connect with me. I appreciate her writing in third person which is almost rare these days, but I didn’t like the instant romance. The backstory of the hero was tragic, almost over the top tragic. The rest of the series had a similar theme.
@Teev, @Kathy, and @kitkat9000, the book was indeed on sale last night and this morning but is no longer on sale. I’m not sure if it was an error since it was released on the first.
@Rose: I have 20 kinds of tea on hand to experiment with, but my favorite hot variety had a STRONG grassy note when iced, which was… discouraging. I’ll try a couple more, but I wouldn’t bet money on converting me. *squints mutinously*
The entire Neighbor From Hell series is currently $0.99 on amazon. I have some issues with these books, but not enough to stop reading them, because they’re oddly addictive.
Difficult woman rockstar and a roadie? SIGN. ME. UP.
Yes the rockstar trope has been done. But hasn’t literally every single romance trope been done? That’s why it’s a trope.
I read Getting Real recently, and am absolutely not qualified to comment on its accuracy, but re: the roadie/tour manager thing, Jake’s not supposed to be the Tour Manager, but he ends up temporarily assuming the position when there are problems with the band’s own manager. I can’t remember what his original official job was, but he was like the guy on the road crew who was vaguely in charge of them and supposed to interact with the talent or something.
800+ pages of Beauty and the Beast stories for .99.
I. . . I am weak to temptation.
