  • Whiskey Sharp: Unraveled

Whiskey Sharp: Unraveled by Lauren Dane

Whiskey Sharp: Unraveled by Lauren Dane is 99c! I know Sarah enjoyed this one and is excited for the next book in the series. Here’s what she said about Unraveled, and she typed this while on a snow slope! She assured me that she stopped snowboarding first.

It’s low on relationship conflict and high on family conflict. I really liked the found family aspects. And the food.

The sharpest ache comes from wanting what you think you can’t have…

Maybe Dolan has lived independent, free-spirited and unattached since leaving home at sixteen. Whiskey Sharp, Seattle’s sexy vintage-styled barbershop and whiskey bar, gave her a job—and a reason to put down roots. Cutting hair by day, losing herself drumming in a punk rock band by night, she’s got it good.

But a longtime crush that turns into a hot, edgy night with brooding and bearded Alexsei Petrov makes it a hell of a lot better.

Maybe’s blunt attitude and carnal smile hooked Alexsei from the start. Protecting people is part of his nature and Maybe is meant to be his…even if she doesn’t know it. Yet. He can’t help himself from wanting to protect and care for her.

But Maybe’s fiery independent spirit means pushing back when Alexsei goes too far. Still, he’s not afraid to do a little pushing of his own to get what he wants—her in his life, and his bed, for good. Maybe’s more intoxicating than all the liquor on his shelf…and he’s not afraid to ride the blade’s edge to bind her to him.

  • Irresistible You

    Irresistible You by Kate Meader

Irresistible You by Kate Meader is $2.99! This is the first book in a newish sports romance series! Readers really loved the banter between the hero and heroine, though others mentioned it took a while to warm up to the hero. Have you read this one?

Hot in Chicago series author Kate Meader returns with her all new, scorching Chicago Rebels hockey series, featuring her signature “steamy sex scenes, colorful characters, and riveting dialogue” (Romantic Times). Three estranged sisters inherit their late father’s failing hockey franchise and are forced to confront a man’s world, their family’s demons, and the battle-hardened ice warriors skating into their hearts.

Harper Chase has just become the most powerful woman in the NHL after the death of her father Clifford Chase, maverick owner of the Chicago Rebels. But the team is a hot mess—underfunded, overweight, and close to tapping out of the league. Hell-bent on turning the luckless franchise around, Harper won’t let anything stand in her way. Not her gender, not her sisters, and especially not a veteran player with an attitude problem, a chip on his shoulder, and a smoldering gaze designed to melt her ice-compacted defenses.

Veteran center Remy “Jinx” DuPre is on the downside of a career that’s seen him win big sponsorships, fans’ hearts, and more than a few notches on his stick. Only one goal has eluded him: the Stanley Cup. Sure, he’s been labeled as the unluckiest guy in the league, but with his recent streak of good play, he knows this is his year. So why the hell is he being shunted off to a failing hockey franchise run by a ball-buster in heels? And is she seriously expecting him to lead her band of misfit losers to a coveted spot in the playoffs?

He’d have a better chance of leading Harper on a merry skate to his bed…

  • The Marquis and I

The Marquis and I by Ella Quinn

The Marquis and I by Ella Quinn is 99c! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and is being price-matched! This is a historical romance and the fourth book in The Worthingtons series. The description makes this book sound bananas, which several readers enjoyed. However, as mentioned in the description, there is a mistress, which are some readers anti-catnip.

Trouble is no match for a lady of the extended Worthington family—except when it comes in the form of a most irresistible gentleman…

Lady Charlotte Carpenter’s brother-in-law has put an infamous brothel owner out of business—yet it is Charlotte who suffers the consequences. Abducted by thugs and held at an inn, she is plotting her escape when she’s suddenly rescued by a dashing gentleman. Only afterward does she realize she’s seen him before—with two courtesans! Unwilling to tarry with such a man, Charlotte makes her second escape. But it is too late to repair her reputation.

A known gossip has spied Charlotte’s movements, and his report is speeding through the rumor mill. Soon, everyone knows that Charlotte spent the night with Constantine, Marquis of Kenilworth. And everyone agrees the only answer is marriage—including Constantine himself, his overjoyed mother—and his mistress! But Charlotte’s abductors aren’t finished with her yet. Now Constantine will do anything to protect the spirited woman he loves and win her heart.

  • How to Handle a Heartbreaker

How to Handle a Heartbreaker by Marie Harte

How to Handle a Heartbreaker by Marie Harte is $1.99! This is a contemporary romance and readers loved the banter between the hero and heroine. However, others expressed wanting to knock the hero upside the head a couple times. This is the second book in the The McCauley Brothers series and can be read as a standalone.

HE CAN’T GET HER OUT OF HIS HEAD
It’s lust at first sight when Brody Singer first lays eyes on Abby Dunn. The dark-haired beauty looks a lot like a woman he once knew, who died years ago. At first Brody fears his attraction is a holdover from that secret crush, but Abby’s definitely different. She’s a lot shyer, a lot sexier and, despite her attempts to dissuade his interest, absolutely mesmerizing.

SHE CAN’T GET HIM OUT OF HER BOOKS
Abby isn’t having it. She’s still trying to put her last disastrous relationship behind her and overcome the flaws her ex wouldn’t let her forget. But somehow Brody isn’t getting the hint. It doesn’t help that when writing her steamy novels, she keeps casting Brody as the hero.

Brody is more than happy to serve as her muse and eager to help make sure her “research” is authentic. But when their research turns into something real…will she choose her own happily ever after?

  1. Katie Lynn says:

I loved the Meader book, especially how the relationship between the sisters plays out (and continues to through the books). I believe I recommended it to a friend with the description of “it’s as though Nora Roberts’s Montana Sky and SEP’s It Had to be You had a baby”. It’s less misogynistic than the SEP book, thankfully.

  2. Lena says:

I loved Irresistible You and I’ve read all of the books in the series (the last one just came out yesterday and I’m devouring it)
I haven’t read Unraveled but it has been highly recommended by people I trust, so I’m picking it up 🙂

  3. hng23 says:

@Lena: I loved both the Whiskey Sharp books so far & I’m really looking forward to the newest one. Definitely worth the time. I’ve just started re-reading her Brown Family/Delicious/Hurley Boys tied-in series for the umpteenth time.

  4. ReneeG says:

@Katie Lynn – love your description (and Montana Sky). One-click!

  5. Kimberly says:

I DNF’d Irresistible You—the hero just wasn’t my cup of tea. But later I went back and read its prequel and sequel and loved them! So don’t let this one turn you off.

WTF is wrong with her arm in How to Handle a Heartbreaker?!?
