You did it! We figured this one out! It is a truth universally acknowledged (by me for certain) that the Bitchery pretty much knows everything, and really, it's true. Scroll down to see the solution for this HaBO - and many thanks!

This HaBO is from Lauren, who is having a tough time finding this one:
I’m pretty sure this is a long shot because I’m not even positive it was a romance novel, but I don’t know who else to turn to. This is also embarrassing because the book isn’t even that old.
Anyway, the basic plot of the book is that this woman has been working for the FBI as a tech/drone specialist or something. To keep her job, she needs to start going on physical missions. She goes through training and ends up excelling, despite the skepticism of her teammates. Then somehow she gets left behind somewhere and they refuse to go home without her?
I’m pretty sure the title.of the book is tied into that idea but it turns out that’s a common book title and I can’t find the one I’m looking for. I’m desperately hoping someone here recognizes the plot and can lead me to the right title.
This may be the toughest one we’ve had in a while.

The Woman Left Behind by Linda Howard is my best guess.
That is my guess too, The Woman Left Behind by Linda Howard!
Same as the women above said – it’s The Woman Left Behind. I just read this and loved it!
That was quick!
I’m intrigued, but LH has burned me one too many times the last few years.
For those who had found Linda Howard less satisfying in recent years, this one was great.
I just read this too and yes this is the correct book. I thought the heroine was terrific. Linda Howard usually has very alpha heroes, which this book does too, but the heroine was just as smart, strong and resilient. She was great.
Yep, it’s LH. This book didn’t work for me, personally, but lots of other people loved t.
Definited Linda Howard’s The Woman Left Behind.
Linda Howard’s latest…wasn’t bad, just not one of my favorites
I’m happy to know there’s a decent book with a drone-operating heroine out there—I DNFed a terrible one recently where the heroine was way TSTL.
You are all wonderful, beautiful people. Apologies for the late response. I’m in my last quarter of grad school and have been swamped. Now I have something to look forward to after I graduate!! Thank you all!
