My dream box would be full of new to me authors. I love all genres of romance, but particularly historical romance.
I’ve been in the mood for contemporary romance lately, even though I’ve read all over the place as far as genre is concerned. I love books set in contemporary Europe, and if I were to have my dream book it would be a contemporary romance set somewhere in Germany! I’ve yet to find a contemporary romance set in Germany written in English – they’re even hard for me to find written in German. Maybe I’m the only one who wants this, and I’m sure it’s not in your boxes o’books, but that’s my dream!
My dream box is full of books I haven’t read before, a lovely mix of contemporaries, historical fiction, and mysteries…with strong romantic elements, of course! But pretty much any box of books is a dream!
My dream box is filled with dreamy paranormal and/or supernatural romance, interdimensional trysts and even stories with a spiritual cum carnal bend — angel/human pairings and such. My dream box of books contains no rural romance, a subgenre that I strongly suspect exists only here in Australia.
I am an ebook reader but not opposed to paperback. I do cherish my few signed hard copies by my favorite authors.
My dream box is filled with authors I have not discovered yet. contemporary, Regency, steampunk and paranormal, all genres I have explored and yet to explore.
Hmm dream book box…
I’m gonna say seven new, never-before-read-by-me books by favorite others. Just lock myself away and devour for the next couple days
Oh boy! My dream box right now would be a mix of contemporaries and romantic suspense, because those are two subgenres I’m interested in getting into, but haven’t really done much with yet.
A dream box for me would have books I haven’t read yet. If it’s to dream, also no YA would be in there 🙂
But, if it’s to read and enjoy, almost any genre would work.
My dream box would contain books from new-to-me authors. It would gave me a chance to try something new and feel surprised at “discovering” a great author.
My dream box would fit through my front door – barely. As a bonus, then I would have an excuse to buy a new bookshelf and reshelve all my favorite series next to each other.
I lean towards mystery-with-romance and paranormal, so it’s a given I’d love some of those, but what I’d also like is books that I usually avoid (regency, contemporary with no humor or mystery). If the books are free, then I’d have the luxury to discover what legions of fans love about these specific settings. Book luxury and a looming summer- I’m there.

My dream box of books has a few by my favorite authors, but then has the books that they recommend, too. That’s what I want forever, if you liked x then try y type recommendations. But with a writer I like doing the recommending. Often I get a rec with a good plot, but where the writing style just DOESNT work for me! I admit I’m picky and can’t describe the style I like (or don’t like), so I suppose my dream box is magic, too!
I’d take m/m all the way, interspersed with some yaoi manga, graphic novels, and some of those man candy photo books that hardly anyone bothers to buy anymore…
its def a box full of signed romance books like Lisa Kleypas
My dream box would be full of books by authors I haven’t read yet but who all like writing about things I find catnip (representations of disability and neurodiversity, queer characters with happy endings, people other than dukes and billionaires, characters who aren’t American or European, own voices…)
Anything at all would be great. New authors get me out of my comfort zone and make me read stories I may gloss over!!
People love to make fun of me since I only read from three genres (it makes it so easy to pick out, I’m a speed chooser!). I would love a box with period pieces of women in their roles in a war, women or tormented men starting some sort of bakery/bookstore/traveling cafe before settling down in some windy town, and dystopian sci-fi. One of these doesn’t match the others haha
Any box that included a printed copy of a Christina Lauren book would be a dream box for me! I’m so happy that new authors (and by new I mean within the last decade!) have their books so readily available as ebooks, but I’m a print book lover at heart, and many of the new books are so expensive! (Emma Scott, J. Bengsston, etc). There are wonderful authors popping up every day, so a mix of new and tried-and-true would be wonderful.
Historical, mystery, fantasy, paranormal, adventure…pleaae be genre-ous.
My dream box of books is full of books I never would have picked out on my own but expand my experience and open me to new things or help me realize something I didn’t know about myself. Anyone who has any idea how to shop for this let me know!
Erotica, romance ,signed first editions I love it all !
I want a full collection Of Beatrice Small’s Skye O’Malley series, and that includes all of the off shoots too.
I want a full collection Of Beatrice Small’s Skye O’Malley series, and that includes all of the off shoots too. And since it’s a dream box, the books have nice stiff pages, with a nice clean font that is not quite “large Print”, the covers are gorgeous, and more than able to take the abuse of re-readings
A common, tired complaint I hear about romance is that they are all the same. A cool box to challenge this notion is a box of books all with the same theme/element. It doesn’t have to be highbrow themes like “loneliness” or man’s eternal struggle with nature; it could simply be a symbol or concept that is incorporated in every book, like a key or a scientist character.
Dream box of book is signed first ed BDB series.
I don’t have a favorite yet, because I’ve only recently turned to the world of romance as a balm to the hellish stress that is grad school. I’d love a box to try out some new genres! I guess a grab bag box set, at this point in time, would be ideal for me.
A box of romance novels sounds ideal – with a mix of both historicals and contemporaries. Sign me up! And thank you for the opportunity!
my dream box is filled with books new to me. to paraphrase lostshadows above (24), books I didn’t know I wanted to read until I saw them waiting for me.
My dream box of books would be full of the complete series from my favorite authors, like J.D. Robb and Ilona Andrews. I love to have previous books handy to reference when I read the latest, but my budget doesn’t support filling in the backlist, unfortunately.
Anything romantic suspense or contemporaries with pets in it!
Honestly I would love anything I can get my hands on. I love reading new authors and I have been challenging myself to read outside of my normal comfort zone, so I would be eager to get a box of new and different authors or genres.
My dream box would be a mix of contemporary and historical romances — with a couple of days off to try and read them all
I think I would want a mixed box. A box of all my favorites signed by the author and then books from people who are like “Ohmygodyouneedtoreadthis!” It’s always a good way of finding new authors to read because you know I’m always in danger of running out of books to read
My dream box of books would be full of a really addictive series that I haven’t read yet. Romance would be preferable, but I am also a fan of psychological thrillers.
She was a winsome shut-in who lived on podcasts and mod podge. He was raised on a ranch, but arriving in the big city for grad school, got a job with UPS. Their eyes met as he handed her the battered cardboard box, and the electricity which coursed through the accidental brush of their fingertips caused the precious package to hit the floor. The shoddy tape burst, causing the books to spill onto the front step. What a tacky packing job! But did those Smart Bitches know what they were doing, after all? He raised his eyebrows, impressed by the Terry Pratchett paperbacks, and smiling secretly to see the same Georgette Heyer novels he used to steal from his older sister. He paused over a particular book.
‘This looks good.”
“It’s (as-yet-unknown-to-me-book-which-will-become-my-new-favorite-book). The hero and heroine go to a college for magic, and they kind of hate each other, but they get stuck at school during a snowstorm. They have to save the college from a vengeful local politician. There are unicorns, and ice dragons, and a really big… library.”
“That sounds amazing.”
“Do you want to…. come over and read it sometime?” She blushed at her own daring, but held his gaze.
“Yes, yes I would.”
My dream box would be new to me historicals that are good and not rage inducing.
My dream box is one filled with books from authors I have yet to “meet.” While I love my usual authors, it’s always great to find some new ones to enjoy!
My dream box would have a variety of books I wouldn’t normally choose for myself so that I would feel compelled to read something out of my comfort zone with little risk, but really I’d just be happy to have actual books so that I can read at the beach without killing the battery on my phone.
