It sounds interesting and, if you’ve read a book with this feature, let me know what you think! The next book in the Wingmen Inc series is also on sale. And both books have been picked up by PassionFlix! This one is due out mid-March.

Wingman rule number one: don’t fall for a client.

  • It Takes Two to Tumble

It Takes Two to Tumble by Cat Sebastian

It Takes Two to Tumble by Cat Sebastian is 99c! This is the first book in a new series by Sebastian and Elyse mentioned it in a previous Hide Your Wallet post. I know for many of you, Sebastian is an autobuy author. What did you think of this one? How’d it compare to her other books?

Some of Ben Sedgwick’s favorite things:

    Helping his poor parishioners
    Baby animals
Shamelessly flirting with the handsome Captain Phillip Dacre

After an unconventional upbringing, Ben is perfectly content with the quiet, predictable life of a country vicar, free of strife or turmoil. When he’s asked to look after an absent naval captain’s three wild children, he reluctantly agrees, but instantly falls for the hellions. And when their stern but gloriously handsome father arrives, Ben is tempted in ways that make him doubt everything.

Some of Phillip Dacre’s favorite things:

    His ship
People doing precisely as they’re told
Touching the irresistible vicar at every opportunity

Phillip can’t wait to leave England’s shores and be back on his ship, away from the grief that haunts him. But his children have driven off a succession of governesses and tutors and he must set things right. The unexpected presence of the cheerful, adorable vicar sets his world on its head and now he can’t seem to live without Ben’s winning smiles or devastating kisses.

In the midst of runaway children, a plot to blackmail Ben’s family, and torturous nights of pleasure, Ben and Phillip must decide if a safe life is worth losing the one thing that makes them come alive.

  • Destined for a King

Destined for a King by Ashlyn Macnamara

Destined for a King by Ashlyn Macnamara is 99c! This is a medieval romance that blends some light fantasy elements. I also made a yummy cocktail for it. I really loved the hero in this one and found him to be rather charming, but his backstory and the mythology behind it confused me at times.

Bestselling author Ashlyn Macnamara, hailed by Jennifer McQuiston as “a born storyteller,” introduces the strapping, audacious outlaws of the Bastard Brotherhood in this enchanting tale of forbidden love between supposedly sworn enemies.

Though she is intended for the king, Calista Thorne picks up a crossbow to defend her ancestral home, Blackbriar Keep, from a gang of landless knights. She even manages to sink a poison-tipped arrow into their commander, who survives long enough to conquer the Keep and claim Calista for his own. Now, with her father’s life at stake, Calista must nurse the brigand back to health, and the strangest thing happens: She finds herself fascinated by his tautly muscled body, and enthralled by his hotly whispered demands.

Ever since his father’s death, the fearsome warrior they call Torch has been consumed by his quest for revenge. Taking Blackbriar Keep is the first step in that plan, and—by the three gods—it won’t be the last. But after taking one look into Calista’s smoldering gray eyes, Torch discovers a passion nobler than retribution. He will fulfill his destiny and take her from the usurper king, even in his weakened state. For with Calista’s love, no man has ever felt more powerful.

  • Wonder Woman: Warbringer

Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo

Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo is $1.99! Carrie read this one and gave it a B:

This book is serviceable but in terms of female bonding, a diverse group of characters, and an excellent portrayal of Diana, the book is a solid B at least. It should work as an introduction to the character for newcomers or as a fun alternative take on events for long-time comics readers.

She will become one of the world’s greatest heroes: WONDER WOMAN. But first she is Diana, Princess of the Amazons. And her fight is just beginning. . . .

Diana longs to prove herself to her legendary warrior sisters. But when the opportunity finally comes, she throws away her chance at glory and breaks Amazon law—risking exile—to save a mere mortal. Even worse, Alia Keralis is no ordinary girl and with this single brave act, Diana may have doomed the world.

Alia just wanted to escape her overprotective brother with a semester at sea. She doesn’t know she is being hunted. When a bomb detonates aboard her ship, Alia is rescued by a mysterious girl of extraordinary strength and forced to confront a horrible truth: Alia is a Warbringer—a direct descendant of the infamous Helen of Troy, fated to bring about an age of bloodshed and misery.

Together, Diana and Alia will face an army of enemies—mortal and divine—determined to either destroy or possess the Warbringer. If they have any hope of saving both their worlds, they will have to stand side by side against the tide of war. (less)

  1. Katie Lynn says:

An Unsuitable Heir by KJ Charles is still $1.99. It’s the most current of her MM historical sins of the cities series.

The Gamble by Kristen Ashley is currently free. Contemporary with a mystery plot that I enjoyed, though I get annoyed with the hero on occasion.

  2. BrandanWH says:

The Kindke in Motion feature was a dud for me. I would turn it on just to see the graphics but I mainly chose to keep it off. I don’t think it added much and it didn’t help that the way the characters looked in my head didn’t match the actors/models chosen. It was novel idea but I don’t go out of my way looking for those types of books.

  3. Meg D. says:

Cat Sebastian is interviewed on the latest episode of the “Wicked Wallflowers Club” podcast. Go listen to it right now. It’s delightful and funny and thought-provoking.

  4. Robin says:

The Matchmaker’s Playbook was so unbelievably terrible: the writing is awful and the characters are shallow. DNF after Chapter 1. Run away!

  5. Rebecca says:

It Takes Two To Tumble: Forever Fave!! It has definite Sound of Music or even Mary Pippins vibe, but with a (Widower) Sea Captain estranged from his wayward kids, and a Vicar who becomes their carer.
