Greetings, Bitchery friends in the DC-area! I’m moderating an event this Thursday night, November 30, at 7:00pm with Alyssa Cole and Alisha Rai!
You can get all the details on our Events page, but here are the most important details!
When: November 30, 7:00pm!
Where: Politics and Prose at The Wharf, 70 District Square SW
How much: FREE, Cheesy Bread, Free! No reservations required. But please note: seating is available on a first come, first served basis.
What: We’re going to be talking about Alisha’s latest book, Wrong to Need You, and Alyssa’s newest book, A Hope Divided, both out this week!
We’re going to be discussing how romance is and has been subversive, and how happiness is a crucial tool in our efforts to resist that which tries to limit and demean us. Our conversations about this upcoming discussion have been so much fun, I’m looking forward to our panel on Thursday.
I hope to see you there!
So jealous of you beltway people. This looks like an great program.
This sounds amazing! I too am jealous and wish I was there for the cheesy bread and the romance.
Any chance you’ll be taking this on the road? I’m sure you recall the fabulous chocolates at Anderson’s Books in Naperville..
I do indeed recall those chocolates!! If I do anything near you, I promise you’ll know about it!
@SB Sarah – any way you can record this & post it @ SBTB somewhere (maybe even a Garlic Knitter transcript?)? I for one would love to be able to listen to it. Thanks!
AND – congrats to both authors on tomorrow’s publications of their books.
SO bummed I’m missing this.
I’m so excited! Thanks for the heads up, I can’t wait!
I’ll be there! I was wondering when you were going to announce this.
I will be there with bells on!!!
The address has a little blooper in it — should be District Ave SW, not NW.
I agree, y’all should take this on the road! sounds like a fab program.
Good grief- thank you TA! Fixed!
Wow I’ve never wished I lived in DC before but this sounds amazing. Love both of these authors. Now we just need something similar in San Francisco.
This is truly the first time in 2 years that I’m mad about leaving D.C. Have so much fun Washingtonians!
Heads up for people who are going: Thursday is also the National Christmas Tree lighting. Be prepared for extra heavy traffic and Metro crowds.
Nooo…I only just saw this. Not only was I reading Rai’s new book last night, I only live a few blocks from the Wharf. Real tears.
