Paranormal Romances & Two Book Bundles

  • The Curse of Lord Stanstead

The Curse of Lord Stanstead by Mia Marlowe

RECOMMENDED: The Curse of Lord Stanstead by Mia Marlowe is 99c at most vendors! This is a historical romance with magic and Elyse gave this book a B+:

The Curse of Lord Stanstead is a good fit for readers who are burned out on straight Regency romances and need a dash of spice, or for paranormal readers who are sick of brooding vampires. If The Order of the Muse series follows the usual formula of the second book being stronger than the first, I will be very happy indeed. I already have The Madness of Lord Westfall downloaded on my ereader, ready to go.

    When only seduction will do…

Wherever Cassandra Darkin goes, fire is sure to follow. It’s not until she’s swept into the arms of a handsome, infuriating stranger that she learns she’s responsible for the fires. As it turns out, Cassandra is a fire mage…and with her gift comes a blazing desire for sins of the flesh.

With his pretenatural ability to influence the thoughts of others, Garrett Sterling is sent to gather Cassandra for the Order of the M.U.SE. He’s entirely unprepared for his immediate attraction to the comely little firestarter. But it’s an attraction that he must quell, even as his body craves her touch and her fiery, sensual hunger.

For Garrett’s gift has a dark side…and the moment he begins to care too much for Cassandra, he knows he will doom her to an inescapable fate.

  • Angels’ Blood

    Angels’ Blood by Nalini Singh

Angels’ Blood by Nalini Singh is $1.99! This is the first book in the very popular Guild Hunter series. I remember reading this a long time ago, but didn’t continue with the series for who knows why. Probably because I prefer my series to be one couple per book, rather than an ongoing couple. Though I think the series switches to other couples later on. Am I right? Or is what I’m saying just a product of a fever dream?

Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux knows she is the best – but she does not know if even she is good enough for this job. Hired by the dangerously beautiful archangel Raphael, a being so lethal that no mortal wants his attention, Elena knows failure is not an option—even if the task is impossible.

Because this time, it’s not a wayward vamp she has to track. It’s an archangel gone bad.

The job will put Elena in the midst of a killing spree like no other—and pull her to the razor’s edge of passion. Even if the hunt does not destroy her, succumbing to Raphael’s seductive touch just might. For when archangels play, mortals break.

  • Southern Arcana: The Complete Series Bundle

Southern Arcana: The Complete Series Bundle by Moira Rogers

Southern Arcana: The Complete Series Bundle by Moira Rogers is 99c at Amazon! This deal is good for the next four days, according to Amazon, and then the price goes up to $2.99. However, both prices are still pretty great for a bundle of six paranormal romances. Anyone in the Bitchery familiar with the series?

Six full novels in the popular Southern Arcana Series, featuring love, loyalty, passion and betrayal playing out in the paranormal underworld of New Orleans.

Book #1: Crux – A woman’s discovery of her supernatural heritage plunges her into the midst of a new and terrifying world, one where her past defines her destiny and falling in love with the wrong man–like the spell-slinging investigator who sets her heart racing–could be her downfall.

Book #2: Crossroads – Duty and desire stand on opposite sides of the fine line a shapeshifter princess must walk. Falling in love is dangerous enough. Falling in love with a man who was turned into a wolf instead of born as one means risking everything–her family, her heart…and possibly his life.

Book #3: Deadlock – A human daughter isn’t of much value to a shapeshifter family unless magic can wake her inner wolf. But playing with powerful spells is dangerous. The only man who can help her is the most powerful wolf in New Orleans–and her family’s enemy.

Book #4: Cipher – The psychic gift of empathy can be a blessing or a curse. For one girl, it’s a deadly weapon. She killed once to protect the man she loves. Now he’s a lethal alpha wolf ready to do anything to protect her. But the greatest danger they pose could be to each other.

Book #5: Impulse – It’s hard to be a rare submissive shifter in a town full of over-protective alphas. Especially for a woman desperate to claim her own independence. Avoiding dominant wolves is the easy answer, but the only man who makes her feel strong is one of the most powerful wolves in the Southeast—a man whose family would kill to protect their legacy.

Book #6: Enigma – Two bounty hunters. One mystery. On the clock, they’re the perfect supernatural-crime-solving team. After hours, she’s ready to rock his world. But he won’t settle for just her body. Daring to risk her heart might be the first fight she loses, and the stakes have never been higher. Because he’ll sacrifice anything for her. Even his life.

  • The Realm Enforcers Bundle

The Realm Enforcers Bundle by Rebecca Zanetti

The Realm Enforcers Bundle by Rebecca Zanetti is $2.99! This bundle collects books 1-3 in the Realm Enforcers paranormal romance series. Readers have mostly positive things to say about the series and it’s been on my TBR list for ages. However, the heroes definitely fall into the Alpha category, if that is or isn’t your thing.

If you love Rebecca Zanetti’s Dark Protectors, try the wicked hot Realm Enforcers, together for the first time . . .

    WICKED RIDE
Seattle vice cop Alexandra Monzelle’s short skirt and sex-kitten heels are tools to lure her suspects into talking about the deadly new drug hitting the streets. But Kellach Dunne is complicating matters. An affair with an immortal like him could undo everything—including every bit of her resistance . . .

    WICKED EDGE
When Coven Nine Enforcer Daire Dunne spots Cee Cee across a Titan’s of Fire party, it’s not long before she’s back in his apartment. Where after one overheated kiss, she drugs Daire and steals valuable files that can’t fall into enemy hands. The second he comes to, the hunt is on . . .

    WICKED BURN
Irish witch Simone Brightston didn’t get to her position on the high council without serious power. But of all the men she’s known, Nikolaj Veis is the hardest to intimidate. So when he pulls up on a roaring bike and tells her to climb on or fight it out, the only thing to do is grab a handful of jacket and hold on tight . . .

  1. MirandaB says:

Elizabeth Bonesteel’s Remnants of Trust is $1.99 at Amazon. This is the second book in her Dark Between series. It’s normally 9.99, so this is a good sale.

  2. Julversia says:

The Guild Hunter series sticks with Raphael and Elena for a bit, then branches off into other couples, mostly Raphael’s Seven (the vampire, other angels, and shifter who are his elite guard), and at least one book that focuses on one of Elena’s friends from the Guild. There’s also a set of novellas that delve into other angel relationships outside the main story arc.

Raphael and Elena are always the main couple, but I think Singh understands well that only one couple will get really boring, really quick.

  3. JWS says:

I liked the whole Order of the Muse series quite a bit.

  4. Lora says:

I like one couple per book, too. Courtney Milan style. Okay, her historicals, because the Cyclone series keeps circling back to the first couple and they’re not my favorite.

Anyway, Prime week has a ton of books on sale for Kindle. Book one of my favorite contemporary series is FREE this week only, too. https://www.amazon.com/Tangled-Princes-Royal-Romances-Book-ebook/dp/B01BLQLU1E

My favorites in that series are #2 and #6.

  5. Bluetomarto says:

I also like 1 couple per book which doesn’t make the guild hunter series ideal (despite the great world building). Best book in the series for me is Archangel’s blade – lots of feels.

  6. Heather Greye says:

I read and enjoyed the first Southern Arcana book and have ben eyeing the others. So that was an easy sale. And isn’t Moira Rogers also Kit Rocha?

  7. Maite says:

    On the Southern Arcana series:
You might have the first book in your digital TBR (it was free for about a week when the series got its digital rerelease.
Trigger Warnings for: attempted rape, brainwashing, graphic visuals of murder by wolf, domestic abuse (discussed) and good people getting shot.

    Onto review-like stuff:
I read the entire thing two years ago and I can still recall most of the main couplles. They are distinctive people, who, most of the time, talk things out and listen to each other. Characters are gradually introduced over the course of the series. Eon’t think it can be read out of order.
The paranormal aspects are the existence of shifters (mostly wolves, a few cougars, coyotes and lions) with some magic users and psychics. Much of the overarching plot is wolf shifter politics. A few mentions of dominance and submission, but none of that “You-my-mate” instalove jerkassery.
Kudos because female characters are women I would like to be friends with.
First book sort of throws you into the world, explanations to come later. Don’t think I understood all of it until mid-way through book two.
For a clearer view of what tropes are presented, head over to the author’s site. They have a nifty thing in “by theme”, where you can see a trope and which of their books have that.
(I would love it if more authors did this.)
I don’t think it shows, but I really liked this series. First book was a bit messy, second one and third I liked. Fourth started ugly (death and angst and serious trauma), but characters make it through. Fifth was good, and sixth I was feeling sorry I had to say goodbye to the characters.

  8. CelineB says:

Ashton by Grace Burrowes is free on Amazon at least. Not sure if these have been mentioned before but Set the Night on Fire by Jennifer Bernard, Love on the Line by Kimberly Kincaid, P*rn Star by Laurelin Paige & Sierra Simone, Black Lies by Alessandra Torre, and In Skates Trouble by Kate Meader are also all free on Amazon.

  9. CelineB says:

Also Heartstone by Elle Katharine White is $1.99 on Amazon (haven’t checked elsewhere). It’s Pride and Prejudice with Dragons. If that doesn’t sell you, it got a Desert Island Keeper review on AAR.

  10. CelineB says:

Heartstone was also reviewed and recommended on SBTB. Here’s the link:

    http://smartbitchestrashybooks.com/?s=heartstone

And I’ll stop posting comments now, unless I find more interesting deals in my obsessive Amazon combing tonight.

  11. @Amanda says:

    @Heather Greye: You’d be right!

  12. Grab the freebie @Lora recommends in comment #4! It’s fun and feel-good (and free, though I won’t vouch for accuracy). Also, anything that gives me a break from current evens and stress should be highly valued as the treasure it is.

  13. The Curse of Lord Stanstead is screaming my name in big, bolg font. I was chatting with the romance squad on Tumblr about how parahistoricals need to be more of a thing in publishing. It’s the best of both worlds. WHAT’S NOT TO LOVE?!

I’m half tempted to do a Rec League suggestion of just good parahistorical recommendations. I NEED THESE BOOKS IN MUH LIFE DAMMIT!
