    Moonshadow by Thea Harrison

Moonshadow by Thea Harrison is 99c! This is a paranormal romance and the start to a new series, which many readers have recommended in previous comments. Readers loved the witchy heroine, but found the romance bordered on insta-lust. For lovers of this book, tell us what you enjoyed!

Her past is a blank, her future uncertain….

Recovering from a shooting, LAPD witch consultant Sophie Ross leaves her job and travels to the U.K. to search for answers about her childhood. When she encounters a Daoine Sidhe knight of the Dark Court, she becomes entangled in an ancient hatred between two arcane forces.

He has given his body and soul to fight for his people….

Barred from his homeland along with his surviving brother knights, Nikolas Sevigny is embroiled in a conflict that threatens everything he holds dear. Only by uniting his people’s resources can they hope to prevail against Isabeau, the deadly Queen of the Light Court. He will do anything and use anyone to return home to Lyonesse.

When Nikolas encounters Sophie, he sees a tool to be used. The insouciant witch might be the key to unlocking every passageway that has been barred to the knights of the Dark Court, even as a fascination for her takes root in what’s left of his soul.

Sophie has no intention of becoming anyone’s pawn, yet the fierce Nikolas is so compelling, she can’t deny the temptation that endangers her guarded heart.

As magic threatens Lyonesse, Queen Isabeau unleashes her merciless Hounds, and Nikolas and Sophie become embroiled in a race for survival. Meanwhile, the passion that ignites between them burns too hot to be denied and quickly turns into obsession.

Thank goodness they both know better than to fall in love…

  • Fully Ignited

    Fully Ignited by Shannon Stacey

Fully Ignited by Shannon Stacey is $1.99! This is a workplace romance between firefighters. This is the third book in the Boston Fire series and readers found it to have a good blending humor and sexytimes. However, others wish the book had more tension. Have you read this one?

When Jamie Rutherford takes a temporary assignment as lieutenant of Boston Fire’s Engine 59, she doesn’t anticipate any problems. She’s been in the fire service for a long time and, even though she’s fairly new to Boston, she knows how to make any firehouse her home. What she’s not prepared for is her reaction to firefighter Scott Kincaid.

Scott is looking for a wife. It’s been a fun ride as a single guy, but he’s tired of being the third wheel, and nearly losing his brother-in-law finally made him realize just how much he wants a family of his own. When the new guy at the firehouse turns out to be a capable, confident and very attractive woman, his plan is completely derailed.

Hooking up with a fellow firefighter has never been part of Jamie’s plan, but she’s tempted by Scott—even though getting involved with him could tarnish the reputation she’s worked so hard for. And Scott can’t stop thinking about Jamie, despite the fact that she’s his superior and not sticking around. Chemistry can crush the best-laid plans, though, and while Jamie and Scott might not be each other’s future…there’s no resisting the right now.

  1. Nerdalisque says:

That’s quite the collection of bare chests!

  2. DancingCorgi says:

And obviously Moonshadow is by Thea Harrison, not Bec McMaster. Thought I was going crazy for a moment!

  3. Julia aka mizzelle says:

Thea Harrison is the author of Moonshadow, not Bec McMaster.

Does the book work if you’ve never read her other series?

  4. DancingCorgi says:

It should work, Julia, on its own but why deprive yourself of the other wonderful books in the Elder Races Series?

  5. @Amanda says:

    Whoops, fixed!

  6. Ren Benton says:

Baseball Guy’s nipples are particularly aggressive.

Not moob shaming, just observing there’s a lot going on from a design perspective there.

  7. Heather S says:

Cat Sebastian’s newest m/m historical, “The Ruin of a Rake”, is out and on sale for $2.99. Her first two books, “The Soldier’s Scoundrel” and “The Lawrence Browne Affair”, are $1.99 each.

  8. cleo says:

I just read First to Burn by Anna Richland (#! in her immortal vikings series) for the Viking spot (#rippedbodicebingo) and there is A LOT going on in that book. A LOT. Haven’t read book 2 yet.

  9. Meg says:

I am laughing so hard I just choked on my tea. What with “Fully Ignited” and the next cover, showing the incredibly subtle baseball placement, this is JUST the mid-morning break I need. Good thing I work at home–the chortling was definitely way too loud for public. Bless you, romance book publishers, for never taking the mild approach.

  10. cbackson says:

@Julia: It’s not in the Elder Races series – it’s a new series, and it’s the first, so it works as a standalone.

I liked it a lot, especially because it considers issues of consent that are inherent in paranormals where one party is a supernatural being and the other either isn’t, or is significantly less powerful. It’s a toucher darker/more serious in tone than the Elder Races books, IMO.

  11. Sam says:

If anyone is interested, The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley is also for sale on Amazon today.

  12. Lora says:

I’m gonna be the pooper at this party and say that, hey, could we have some original cover trends? Because this crop, however delightful and innovative the narratives may be, look like MAN TITTY ON SALE NOW LOOK IT IS ANOTHER SHIRTLESS WHITE GUY

  13. BellaInAus says:

Apparently buttons are banned in Romancelandia

  14. Ren Benton says:

@BellaInAus: Unbuttoned Shirt is to Today as Ripped Bodice is to The Eighties.

  15. Alex says:

Hey. When a Marquess Loves a Woman by Vivienne Lorret is $0.99 on Amazon yesssss! Wine told me to jump on that sh*% and I did, thanks* 😀

Everyone buy it because I LOVE Vivienne Lorret!

*totally didn’t need wine; would have bought it anyway. What are YOU doing with your life?

  16. DonnaMarie says:

Actually, Moonshadow is part of the Elder Races series, it’s an off shoot that takes place in Europe. It’s the same world, but only peripherally involves the character’s we’ve met previously. Yes, it’s can be read without having read the other books. But you should really read the other books. Why would you deprive yourself?
