In May, we announced that PassionFlix was taking pre-subscriptions for their streaming service. I bit the bullet and signed up to be a Founding Member, though expressed my desire to see more diverse romance novels picked up for production.
Today, PassionFlix announced that it’s snagged the first three books in the Grangers series by Brenda Jackson!
All three books are about the Granger brothers and are set in Virginia. The first book is A Brother’s Honor ( A | BN | K | G | AB ):
The Granger brothers left behind their family’s Virginia estate and the bad memories it holds 151 years ago. But their dying grandfather’s request brings them home: to a failing business, a legacy of secrets and a deathbed promise to make things right.
As the eldest brother, attorney Jace Granger is determined to take responsibility for Granger Aeronautics, his family’s failing business. But the years of mismanagement seem impossible to untangle. As CEO, he hires a consultant to turn the company around. Smart, sexy Shana Bradford is the right person for the job and the right woman to turn Jace’s world upside down.
But the passion between them is jeopardized when old secrets begin to emerge. A woman from Jace’s past suddenly reappears. And an explosive discovery changes everything Jace thinks he knows about his mother and his father, who was convicted of her murder.
Jace Granger tried to leave his family history behind once before. But this time he needs to face the past or risk losing his future.
Three brothers. One legacy. A lifetime of secrets.
So far, I’ve been enjoying my Founding Member subscription, though it’s been limited since the site isn’t officially up and running. They do have a Founding Member Facebook group where you can see behind the scenes stuff and give opinions about potential leading men. I’ve already peeped some audition tapes from the Facebook group.
I’m also so happy to see that PassionFlix is taking a step in the right direction in terms of diversity. Hopefully, there are more good things to come!
What about you? Are you a Founding Member yet? Still on the fence?

I’m still on the fence but am thinking about just a regular early bird subscription.
Also the “151 years” seriously confused me. Like if the family left everything behind that many years ago, who was running a business?? And how would they left the family come back?
The Amazon description lists it as “the bad memories it holds—years ago”
Not a founding member, just the regular early bird subscription, but I am excited to see what they’re coming out with! Maybe too much to ask for, but I’d love a good SFR mini-series … or fantasy, or historical. Obviously those stories would be more $$ to make with costumes and sets, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed for original productions that aren’t contemporary romance. (Though if they wanted to make a Julie James movie? I AM THERE!)
@ClaireC: I’m definitely with you there! I know they picked up Royally Screwed, which has a royal family and takes place in a fictional country. It’s still contemporary, but also lends itself to costuming and some gorgeous set potential.
About freakin’ time!
OK, I did it – I became a founding member. And I am looking forward to the movies and am now about to spend way too much time on the Facebook page. But I deserve it, yes, I do. Because the child that lives with me is now on his fourth day of fever and becoming demanding and annoying. (Yes, I love him, and, yes, I do deserve that romance break.)
still on the fence
I am very interested in becoming a founder member but I have one question – will this site work in international countries? I’ve tried to find the answer and I don’t want to drop the money on a service that I might not be able to use… Does anyone have an answer to this?
@Annalisa: Some asked this on a previous thread and all I was able to find was this:
“Passionflix will stream original content internationally, but licensed content will be available in the UK and other countries soon!”
So it looks like their original stuff will be available worldwide, but they’re working on licenses for everything else.
I became a Founding Member on May 24th. I requested to join the Founding Members’ FB group on June 3rd after reading about Amanda’s experience with it here. My request was still “pending” on June 7th so I messaged the admins about it and promptly received the following response: “We are matching names of those who have requested access to the Lounge with our list of Founding Memberships. We are working very hard to get through them as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience…”
Today is June 11 and my request is still “pending.” I’m still happy that I became a founding member, but I’m irritated that it’s taking quite a while to get the current primary perk of said membership.
