Here’s the description for this special edition:

Subterranean Press is pleased to present, from NYT #1 bestselling author Ilona Andrews, an omnibus of the first three novels in the Innkeeper series. Our edition will be huge (over 760 pages), with an original full-color wraparound dust jacket, as well as full-color and black-and-white interior illustrations by Doris Mantair.

About the Book:

Meet Dina Demille, a nice Texas gal who runs a seemingly ordinary, quaint B&B. But Dina’s inn is a magic, thinking entity; her fluffy Shih-tzu, Beast really is a beast; and her guests are the kind that no one on earth is supposed to know about: guests like a dethroned galactic tyrant with a massive bounty on her head, the Lord Marshal of a powerful vampire clan, and a displaced—and superhot—alpha-strain werewolf.

So don’t expect a normal stay…and don’t stand too close, or you may be collateral damage….

In Clean Sweep, Dina—with the unwanted assistance of newcomer (and alpha werewolf) Sean Evans and Arland, a cosmic vampire soldier—takes on an extraterrestrial killing machine that could destroy her Inn, her neighbors, and everything she holds dear.

Sweep in Peace, finds Dina hosting an anything-but peace summit between three warring intergalactic species; Space Vampires, the Hope-Crushing Horde, and the devious Merchants of Baha-char.

One Fell Sweep sends Dina to the galaxy’s worst penal colony to rescue her sister; and back home to fend off a clan of assassins in pursuit, all while saving a guest’s civilization from annihilation…and searching for her missing parents.

  1. Melissandre says:

I also think Grace Draven’s books would work really well as illustrated editions. Entreat Me had a few illustrations, but they just made me want more. My second thought was possibly Lord of Scoundrels, though perhaps Dain is the kind of character best represented in the mind.

  2. Shenney says:

<3 <3 <3 Innkeeper and all Ilona Andrews' work!

What I'd love to see turned into an illustrated edition?

I would love to see Joan D. Vinge's The Snow Queen and The Summer Queen illustrated. One, because they're beautifully imagined and expressive books, but also because Michael Whelan's book covers of them are amazing and it would be awesome to have him add more of that!

  3. Christa says:

Uprooted by Naomi Novik would make an amazing illustrated book!

  4. Deb says:

What an amazing giveaway! I’ve just started Ilona Andrew’s Magic series, and I’m trying SO HARD not to read through them back-to-back-to-back! Those would be great with illustrations, I think. Also… Rachel Caine’s The Great Library series (Ink and Bone, Paper and Fire, etc) NEED to be released with illustrations!

  5. Alice Lee says:

I would love to see White Hot by Ilona Andrews be illustrated.

  6. Joanie says:

I would love to have Grace Draven’s Radiance illustrated.

  7. Kareni says:

What fun! I’d enjoy seeing Thea Harrison’s Dragon Bound in an illustrated version.

  8. QOTU says:

I love these books. Hope this doesn’t mean they are not going to write more. I will agree with earlier post about Kate Daniels. Since it’s the same author(s), maybe there’s even a chance!

  9. Sharon Ames says:

I have been re-reading an old SF classic, Way Station by Clifford Simak. It has some lovely word- pictures which beef for illustration.

  10. Yaara says:

I’d love to see the “His Dark Materials” trilogy illustrated, like the gorgeous new Harry Potter books illustrated by Jim Kay.

Something with dragons like Sorcerer to the Crown or sea monsters like The Abyss Surrounds Us.

  17. Linda says:

I would love to see Legends of Nightfall illustrated. It’s an old fantasy novel, but one of my favorites that I reread over and over.

I loved IA’s Kate Daniels series, but for some reason never picked up this one. Fingers crossed I can win a copy. 😀

  18. Ashley says:

    Johanna Lindsay outer space trio.

  19. PamG says:

What a nifty giveaway! I can read Ilona Andrews’ stuff anytime and anywhere, which makes them perfect as comfort reads or pure entertainment. And I do love the Innkeeper series for its kickass characters and its wit.

I started thinking about what else I’d like to see in an illustrated, deluxe version and came up with Meljean Brook’s Iron Seas books, Naomi Novik’s Temeraire series (maybe 1-3), then Shelly Laurenston’s first 3 Dragonkin books. Once you get to thinking about this, you get all wanty mcwanty-pants about it. I’ll just go away now.

  20. MelM says:

I loved the Inkeeper Chronicles. How about Beauty by Robin McKinley illustrated.

  21. Francesca says:

I’ve always thought it would be fun to see one of the old Sex & Shopping novels like Scruples in an illustrated edition. Then we could see all the Chanel suits and Hermes scarves.

  22. Paige says:

I’ve loved the illustrations in the Innkeeper Chronicles. My top choices would be The Guild Hunters by Nalini Singh, Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews, Dragon Kin by GA. Aiken, October Daye by Seanan McGuire, hmmm this could be a long list lol. Thank you for the chance.

  23. Misti says:

Oh fun… I love the Innkeeper books. The Queen’s Thief by Megan Whalen Turner would be fun illustrated.

  24. LaurieF says:

I think it would be fun to have an illustrated copy of Naked in Death by JD Robb.

  27. Dawn Frank says:

“Here, Kitty, Kitty, Kitty…” This would be a killer illustrated.
    Ilona Andrews, Magic Bites

  29. Jen says:

Neat question! I’d love to see any of Sarah Addison Allen’s books get illustrated. That would be fun!

  30. Sarah Williams says:

  31. Diane McConnell says:

Anything by Nalini Singh! Especially Silver Silence since I got an ARC!

  32. Aarann says:

I’d love to see any of Ilona Andrews’s books illustrated – especially the Kate Daniels series, but the White Hot series would be great too. So much magic. As for non IA books… I think I’d enjoy an illustrated version of Ender’s Game. Is that out? I feel like some of the scenes in that book could have been done so well in illustrated form.

  33. Jo Owen says:

    Thank you for the giveaway.

I would like to see Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunter series illustrated, preferably by the artist who does the gorgeous cover art for the US editions.

  35. Karen says:

I have ask the ebooks of innkeeper but this edition looks lovely!

I echo everyone else who has said Robin McKinley in terms of illustrated editions. Her books are so rich they would lend themselves to evocative pictures.

On the non-fantasy side maybe one of Laura Florand’s books? They would lead to some beautiful pictures I think!

    Thanks for the giveaway!

I would dearly love an illustrated edition of The Queen’s Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner.
