  • Strong Signal

    Strong Signal by Megan Erickson

Strong Signal by Megan Erickson and Santino Hassell is 99c! This is the first book in the M/M Cyberlove series and the second book, Fast Connection, is currently nominated for a RITA award. Readers really loved the chemistry between the two heroes, but some found bits of the conflict and drama were unnecessary.

I was counting down the months until the end of my deployment. My days were spent working on military vehicles, and I spent my nights playing video games that would distract me until I could leave Staff Sergeant Garrett Reid behind.

That was when I met him: Kai Bannon, a fellow gamer with a famous stream channel.

I never expected to become fixated on someone who’d initially been a rival. And I’d never expected someone who oozed charm to notice me—a guy known for his brutal honesty and scowl. I hadn’t planned for our online friendship to turn into something that kept me up at night—hours of chatting evolving into filthy webcam sessions.

But it did. And now I can’t stop thinking about him. In my mind, our real life meeting is perfect. We kiss, we fall into bed, and it’s love at first sight.

Except, like most things in my life, it doesn’t go as planned.

Strong Signal is a standalone, full-length novel with no cliffhanger.

  • The Royal We

The Royal We by Heather Cocks

RECOMMENDED: The Royal We by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan is $3.99! Elyse and Redheadedgirl did a joint review of this book and they gave it an A:

RHG: So I’m giving this an A, because it was delightful and I adore the Fug Girls’ version of Harry and Kate and Wills that they’ve created in their heads (“He’s basically Great Britain’s answer to a red squirrel anyway”) and I like how they used that in writing this book.  It also passed the “Did I stay up until 3 am to finish this?  YES I DID” test.  How about you?

Elyse: Totally an A. It wasn’t as heavy in the romance as I wanted but made up for it by being addictive. I too pulled the 3 a.m. read. Plus it’s really funny and heartfelt.

In their first adult novel, authors Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan take on a story of romance and rivalries inspired by today’s most talked-about royal couple: Will and Kate.

If I’m Cinderella today, I dread who they’ll think I am tomorrow. I guess it depends on what I do next.”

American Rebecca Porter was never one for fairy-tales. Her twin sister Lacey was always the romantic, the one who daydreamed of being a princess. But it’s adventure-seeking Bex who goes to Oxford and meets dreamy Nick across the hall – and thus Bex who accidentally finds herself in love with the eventual heir to the British throne. Nick is everything she could have imagined, but Prince Nicholas has unimaginable baggage: grasping friends, a thorny family, hysterical tabloids tracking his every move, and a public that expected its future king to marry a native. On the eve of the most talked-about wedding of the century, Bex reflects on what she’s sacrificed for love — and exactly whose heart she may yet have to break.

  • Stealing Mr. Right

Stealing Mr. Right by Tamara Morgan

Stealing Mr. Right by Tamara Morgan is 99c! This is a romance between a jewel thief and an FBI agent. Both Elyse and I grabbed this from the Goodie Room at RT. Elyse has started it and says there’s some great back and forth banter. The book is told through the heroine’s POV and some reader’s wanted more romance between the hero and heroine.

“A sexy, fun, cat-and-mouse chase that hooked me from page one!” –Jennifer Probst, New York Times & USA Today Bestselling Author of The Marriage Bargain

    I’m a wanted jewel thief.
    He’s FBI.
What’s that saying? Keep your friends close…and your husband closer.

Being married to a federal agent certainly has its perks.

    1. I just love the way that man looks in a suit.
    2. This way I always know what the enemy is up to.

Spending my days lifting jewels and my nights tracking the Bureau should have been a genius plan. But the closer I get to Grant Emerson, the more dangerous this feels. With two million dollars’ worth of diamonds on the line, I can’t afford to fall for my own husband.

It turns out that the only thing worse than having a mortal enemy is being married to one. Because in our game of theft and seduction, only one of us will come out on top.

Good thing a cat burglar always lands on her feet.

  • Crumb

    Crumb by Ruby Tandoh

Crumb by Ruby Tandoh is $2.99! For any Great British Bake Off fans, Ruby was in season four of the show. Readers say the book is gorgeous and easy to follow, but others said the recipes aren’t for things they’d make regularly.

A baking cookbook from the young and talented Ruby Tandoh, with a focus on charming, flavorful, and practical dishes that celebrate the pleasure of casual baking.

Crumb’s explanatory and evocative prose promotes everyday baking without sacrificing the joy of the craft, defying the style of both showy, highly decorated baking as well as the dry, informative tone of “serious” baking books. A delight to read as well as to bake from, recipes like Sweet Potato Doughnuts, Pecan and Rosemary Tartlets, Raspberry Whisky Pavlova, and Blood Orange Polenta Cake are interspersed with the virtues of different types of apples, a reminiscence about Belgian buns, and a passage on the need to knead. Covering a range of baking projects from sweet to savory, chapters include cakes, cookies, bread, pastries, pies, tarts, and more.

I loved Stealing Mr Right which was a 99c deal a few months back and have devoured Tamara Morgan’s books every since. The set up felt really unique with the tension between the H/h being about the How and Why of their relationship. It’s hard to do married people Romance well.

Most of her books are on sale right now.

I second “The Royal We” – IT WAS SO GOOD YA’LL.

LOVED the Royal We. It set me on a trope binge of prince romances! The best ones I’ve read were Vagabond Prince by Molly Jameson and Royally Screwed. Both are Kindle books.

  5. cleo says:

I enjoyed Strong Signal, although not as much as Fast Connection. The whole series is about people meeting and/or falling in love online. For those who’ve read solo works by either author, their combined style is less gritty / angsty than Santino Hassell’s solo work (especially the first books in the Fuve Boroughs series but less than Megan Erickaon’s (at the ones I’ve read in her In Gocus series).

One of the MCs has severe social anxiety – I liked that there was some therapy on the toad to the hea, even though the timeline was really fast.

  6. cleo says:

@cleo – but MORE gritty than Meghan Erickson’s solo style (least in the one or two books by her that I’ve read in her In Focus series).

  7. Hera says:

I’m so excited about Crumb! I liked Ruby on GBBO, and every time she pops up since then she’s more interesting. I’ve been eyeing this one for a while. Yay!

  8. SandyCo says:

I’m enjoying the entire Cyberlove series, and “Strong Signal” is both hot and sweet. I highly recommend this one, especially at that price! 🙂

  9. Katie Lynn says:

LOVE the Cyberlove series, and I agree that it is less gritty than santino’s solo works, but slightly darker than Erickson’s (which tend to be relatively lighthearted).
