RECOMMENDED: Wicked Sexy Liar by Christina Lauren is $1.99! This is the fourth book in the Wild Seasons series and while Elyse really enjoyed it, she isn’t sure you should start with this one. However, Christina Lauren’s books are rarely on sale and Beautiful Bastard (the first book in their Beautiful series) is discounted as well.
For two people ambivalent about dating and love, they sure get naked around each other an awful lot . . .
London Hughes is very content to surf daily, tend bar, hang out with her group of friends, and slowly orient herself in the years after college. Everythingâs going great and according to the non-plan.
But when a wave knocks her for a loop one morning, then Luke Sutterâs flirtatious smile knocks her for another that evening, she veers slightly off courseâŠand into his path. Sure, heâs a total player, but the Why notâitâs only one night is a persistent voice in her ear.
For his part, Lukeâs been on hookup autopilot for so long that he rarely ever pauses to consider what heâs doing. But after an amazing time with London, he realizes that he hasnât been moving on from a devastating heartbreak so much as heâs been drifting to whereverâand whomeverâthe current takes him. With London he wants more.
Every relationship involves two peopleâŠplus their pasts. And as much as she enjoys her fling with Luke, when London learns about his pastâmore specifically, whoâs in itâeverything becomes the brand of complicated she strives to avoid. Itâs up to Luke then to change some things in order to try and ensure heâs not something sheâll outright avoid as well.

RECOMMENDED: The Undoing by Shelly Laurenston is $1.99 at Amazon! What the heck, price-matching! This is the second book in the Call of Crows and Sarah devoured this at last year’s RT convention. She gave it an A grade, in case you’re wondering:
I read both books in a matter of days, and hid in my room to read more every day that I was at RT. I carried my Kindle with me so I could read more while I waited in line. I read more before bed, even though I should have been sleeping by then. And when I tried to explain these two books and the series to people, I managed a stammering, sentence fragment-filled stream of nonsense because thereâs so much going on, and itâs all so fascinating and good. The Call of Crows series is a unique world and mythology, but itâs the characters in both The Unleashing and The Undoing that make this series terrific.
A risk worth takingâŠ
No one would ever accuse Jace Berisha of having an easy lifeâconsidering her husbandâŠyou knowâŠkilled her. But that was then! Now she fights for mighty Viking gods with the spectacular and vicious Crows.
But things are turning very bad, very quickly because a vengeful, ancient goddess has come into the world with just one thing on her mindâending it. And the only way they can hope to stop her is if the Crows join forces with their one-time enemies, the Protectors. A Viking Clan created to do nothing but kill every Crow they see.
Thankfully, Protector Ski Eriksen is a peace loving kind of guy. Because the woman he is desperately trying to get close to is the beautiful and not-very-chatty Jace. Battling Nordic clans? Unkillable goddesses? Jaceâs mean-spirited dog? None of these things would ever get in the way of a true Viking!

RECOMMENDED: All In by Simona Ahrnstedt is $2.99 at Amazon! Hopefully other vendors will match the price. Redheadedgirl gave the book an A:
I felt like this was full of Shakespearean drama, and scheming families, and hot sex, and gorgeous clothes, but also some important things to say about how the world is functioning. Thereâs a lot going on, though, and the ending a tad rushed.
In the cutthroat world of Sweden’s financial elite, no one knows that better than corporate raider David Hammar. Ruthless. Notorious. Unstoppable. He’s out to hijack the ultimate prize, Investum. After years of planning, all the players are in place; he needs just one member of the aristocratic owning family on his side–Natalia De la Grip.
Elegant, brilliant, driven to succeed in a man’s world, Natalia is curious about David’s unexpected invitation to lunch. Everyone knows that he is rich, dangerous, unethical; she soon discovers he is also deeply scarred.
The attraction between these two is impossible, but the long Swedish nights unfold an affair that will bring to light shocking secrets, forever alter a family, and force both Natalia and David to confront their innermost fears and desires.

Oh my aching index finger! Between yesterday’s new releases and now a Shelly Laurenston deal, I’m getting early onset arthritis. Good thing I work for a hand specialist.
Totally recommend All In. Odds are good you’ll find your personal catnip somewhere in it’s pages, but most especially, it has mine: YOU get a secret baby! And YOU get a secret baby! EVERYONE gets a secret baby!
YOU SNEAKY, SNEAKY BITCHES; I LOVE-HATE YOU!
Yall figured out that I was buy-tempted if the book has been reviewed by a fellow bitch. YALL HAVE OUTSMARTED MY FINANCIAL RESISTANCE TO YOUR TEMPTATIONS!
Sorry wallet. I love you, but I don’t love you as much as I loves the bitches.
@DonnaMarie Okay gurl, you are really not helping me with my Resistance Plan. CURSE-HEART YOU! lol
@DonnaMarie And here I was heroically resisting one clicking anything because Mount TBR is like whoa! And then you had to go and say the magic words Secret Baby đ
@Gigi SAAAAAAAAAAAAME! Exactly as I said. Girl I feel ya. IT’S NOT FAIR AND MY BANK ACCOUNT IS GONNA SLAP A BITCH…namely me.
Sigh.
Oh well. At least I’ll have fun live tweeting my reading experience (and reviewing it on my YouTube channel.) I just hope Simona Ahrnstedt doesn’t end up swearing out a restraining order for the no-doubt spamtastic tagging I’ll be doing of her while I read. FINGERS CROSSED YO!
OMG I loved All In. A brilliant read. Definitely recommend.
Chiming inâI love All In also!! It was so far outside my normal fare but holy wow did it work for me. I’ve already pre-ordered the next. My bank account is definitely going to be unhappy with me. Lol.
@Betty Mac @Caitlin YALL AIN’T HELPING DANGIT!!!!! I swear, only in the romance novel fandom can we be simultaneously happily thankful and hella ass-pained from recommendations! haha
We (Swedish romance readers) are so proud of Simonas success in the English-language book market. She’s such an excellent writer and a remarkable woman. Did you know that she single-handedly established romance written in Swedish as a genre? Did not exist before her first book (historical romance) came out in 2010. She has dominated the Swedish romance market completely since then, with three historical romance and three contemporary, but last year several new romance authors debuted.
Here, in Sweden, we by now have read the entire contemporary series – and the second book is just incredible (at least in Swedish!) – and now we are waiting impatiently for her seventh book, coming this fall. Also a contemporary, but this time a standalone. If you do not mind a little bit of Swedish romance gossip.
@Elisabet Nielsen GO SWEDEN, GO! Man that’s so cool when other countries do the romance do! It shows love is truly the most universal reality in existence.
Elisabet that is so interesting. I honestly wasn’t thinking of buying but that makes me want to.
I have wondered before how often romance books are translated. It seems like I see more crime fiction and was wondering if the genre is as big in other countries. Well, besides other English speaking countries as we do see some of those.
The Undoing is my favorite of the series. HIGHLY recommend this book, laugh out loud funny and Ski is fantastic.
Sarah Morgan’s Sunset in Central Park is on sale for 99 cents on Amazon. Description says it’s a friends to lovers story which is totally my catnip.
@Cristie Friends to lovers? SHUT UP AND TAKE ALL MY GOLD! It’s my favorite trope, second only to “We Totes Gotta Be Fake Married/Dating/Banging Until Uh-Oh-Spaghetti-Os-Now-We-Haz-Hearteyes.” That trope will always get my feels and my ovaries every darn time.
Bev, Simona Ahrnstedt was the first Swedish romance author translated into English. And, I believe, she is also the first European non-English-speaking romance author translated into English. This is a big deal in Romance Sweden!
Simona has been a trailblazer for the romance genre in Sweden and for the Swedish romance abroad. She has been translated into (at least) 18 languages. Now, again, she is a trailblazer for Swedish romance in the English-speaking market and we are so excited and happy for her success.
Well, this was a nice thread for me to read – many thanks to you all.
@Simona Ahrnstedt I swear, in my mind romance authors ARE rock star celebrities. Like, even for ones I don’t know yet, I’m like OH MY GOD IT’S THEM IT’S THEM IT’S THEM!!!!
So yes, my ass DID just have a fangirl moment at your comment. WHY AM I SO WEIRD????? Tom Hiddleston or Gong Yoo or BIGBANG could prance down my street and I’d merely tip my top hat with a “howdy do,” but romance authors, man. ROMANCE! AUTHORS!
How sweet Jacqueline, thank you.
@Simona Ahrnstedt “Sweet?” Not “awkward as all hell?” Are you SUUUUUURE you’re not a spam bot? LOL (I kid…mostly.)
Joking aside, YOU’RE TOTES WELCOME :).
Haha, @ jacqueline am relatively sure. Please send Hiddleston if you see him.
@Elisabet, it sounds like you are saying there are more books coming in the All In universe? If so, I will be doing the Amazon one click on that sooo fast. I adored All In and have recced it like crazy this year. More? Send them on!
@Cassandra; Falling will be out this July, and the third book I am editing in english as we speak!
@Simona, Thank you for replying-I’m thrilled to hear it and will be on the lookout in July. Congratulations on your success!
@Cassandra, so far Simona has written six books. A series of three contemporary romance, where All In is the first book and Falling (out in english in july) is the second book.
Before that, she wrote a trilogy of historical romance, which is not translated into English (at least not yet). She is working on her seventh book (out in swedish this fall) now, and here, in Sweden, we are waiting impatiently for it.
