If you just saw the segment on romance fiction on CBS Sunday Morning and were wondering about what we do, welcome! We’re glad you’re here!
And if you missed the segment, it’s online now!
If you’re a romance reader, and you’d like recommendations, boy howdy, are you in the right place. We review romances old and new, we help readers find lost books when they can’t remember the title or author, we host a weekly podcast, and we have a whole lot of fun.
Our job here is to connect romance readers with one another, and with the books they want to read. Here are some sections of the site to check you:
- You can read our reviews by grade – the F+ reviews are among the most popular, as that grade is for books that were ridiculously enjoyable for many reasons.
- You can read our greatest hits, some of our most popular content, or enjoy the snort laughter of Elyse’s recaps of The Bachelor.
- If you’re thinking, “I want to read the latest books by those authors!” We can help you out there! Beverly Jenkins’ latest is Breathless and it is a wonderful comfort read. (I personally recommend it. It’s a wonderful comfort read – a review is coming tomorrow!)
- Eloisa James’ latest is Seven Minutes in Heaven ( A | BN | K | G | AB ), and you can read our review!
- And you can tune in to Faith Salie’s audio program Authorized on Audible!
And if you’d like to receive our content by email, or, if you’d like some weekly alerts to romance on sale, you can sign up for our newsletters!
And if you need a recommendation, feel free to ask in the comments!
Is there an online link to watch this somewheres?
You’ve hit the bigtime, Sarah! 😀
Great interview but too short (the show is 90 minutes and I’m sure ya’ll talked longer, plus I didn’t see Fitzwilliam, I don’t think)! And I wished they had not ended with “you can’t judge a book by its cover” especially since they showed so many different books with so many differently styled covers that it’s quite obvious the cliche to which they’re referring is no longer true (though I quite like a hunk on the cover personally).
Thank you! I have always wanted a group/person who could help shift through the trash and find the best romance books. Awww, I feel like a found home. 😉
Hey Dawn! Welcome!! We can definitely help you find the books that’ll work for you. Glad you’re here!
Just watched the segment and I’ve got to say I love romance novels. I can say that they have kept the romance in my life alive. I laugh at those who are outraged about them making the book 50 Shades of Gray into a movie. Read the book it’s more than sex and your right in the end the heroine is the person who stays with you. I loved the book and I read books all the time.
Sarah:
Loved your interview and the Christina Dodd 3 handed cover. Great clip!
Said that… You don’t have a sticker on your web cam, it’s essential for your personal and professional safety.

Just watched you on Sunday morning so glad I was able to catch the show and now enjoy your page thank you so much ❤
Is there a place to watch this segment? For some reason, I was under the impression that these segments were available to watch online.
Loved it!
Hey Stefanie! The segment is online, though your geographical location may interfere with the video replay. Here’s the link:

Thanks for representing us all so capably, Sarah! 🙂
Well done! I loved everything about it. And you look marvelous, Sarah!
This was a short-but-nice feature. (And thank Gawd it aired relatively early on the show. There was so much fluff I thought my head would explode.) Kudos for both treating the genre seriously and acknowledging when it was slightly ridiculous (“three hands”).
CBS did a great job!
Yay! The link worked for me. That was really fun to watch. I’m with Karen H, I wish the segment was a bit longer (yes, where was fitzwilliam waffles? And the ladies from the Ripped Bodice?)
Thanks for posting the link, Sarah. You looked fab!
Got up early just to watch the segment and it was great to see Sarah and friends on TV! Does The Ripped Bodice have online shipping? It would be nice to give them some business from the East Coast here:)
They do, indeed – http://www.therippedbodicela.com/books is their book shopping page! You can also shop some of their swag.
Found out about this website on cbs Sunday morning. I have been reading romance since I was 7 (I am 47) when no one would take me to the library and I was stuck reading my grandma’s romance books 3 a day! Believe me when I say I have read it all. I’m so glad I found this site. Lately I have been reading amazon unlimited books and getting 2 chapters into a book, rolling my eyes, and starting another one because it’s all the same anymore! Can’t wait to read reviews from others!
Hey Shelly! Welcome! You’re definitely not alone – many of us discovered romance from mothers and grandmothers. If I can offer a recommendation, just tell me some of your favorites and I can make suggestions. Thank you for coming to find us! We’re so glad you’re here!
Hmmm. That is the same link I used earlier to read the transcript. I guess I’m in the wrong location. Lol. O well, I enjoyed the read.
Really enjoyed the segment! I wish there was more like that. Welcome to everyone who is new, you’re going to love this place!
And now I have to re-watch, and pause it so I can add more titles to my to-read list.
Loved seeing you on CBS’s Sunday Morning! Great job – tho I DO wish there had been a more in-depth discussion.
After thinking about it, it could be that the part to watch is inaccessible on the website as well, which is something beyond your scope of influence, but is something I deal with in my work. Anyway, it was an enjoyable read, and welcome to the new people!
@Stefanie Magura: Try here, it worked for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bCpBtSQsfs
Thanks. Youtube usually works for me. I’ll be sure to check it out.
YAY! Go Sarah, you totally rocked that interview! I would gladly watch an entire hour of this. It’s so great to hear everything good about romance be represented in the mainstream media.
@ ms bookjunkie: Thanks for the link; I was having trouble, as well.
I really enjoyed this segment, Sarah!
I just watched that great segment online…Sarah, you looked so great!! I geat your e-mail every day and love perusing it with my morning coffee!! Romance books have been a staple in my reading selections for so long, I don’t remember them NOT being there!! Thanks for the awesomw website, you rock!! ☺
Aw, that makes my week – thank you!!
I loved the segment, it was so good! I’m with everyone else-I wish it had been much longer!
I saw your segment on Sunday Morning and was so excited! I can’t wait to explore the website!
How cool! Welcome, Judy! I’m glad you’re here!
Is that CBS link not working for anyone else? because all I get is a black screen. Super frustrating.
Oop, just noticed the YT link @ms bookjunkie posted, thanks!
Yay! Great segment. I listen to the podcast every week, so it was nice to put a face to your name, Sarah (you looked fabulous, by the way!)
I was delighted to recognize so many of those covers, but this definitely needs a “titles mentioned(shown?)” list like the one that accompanies the podcast, so I can make my credit card weep this month…
Sarah – you did as great on tv as you do on the podcast. Awesome! I hope you get picked up for more “let’s talk about romance” pieces. You’re perfect for it!
Thank you!!!
Jasmine: Do you mean the books shown in the montage, or the ones that were on my table? Which ones were you curious about?
Well done on the interview, and thanks for posting a welcome notice for the newcomers. One forgets that not everyone has been here for years getting a daily dose of the Bitchery.[g]
