Last year, Harlequin asked us to select a few of our favorite books for a limited-time only sale. And this year, we get to do it all over again!
It’s always tough trying to pick a good selection of books the Bitchery might enjoy, but we hope you all enjoy the seven titles that made the cut. The sale runs February 9-16 and prices are 99c! That means, if you want to, you can grab 7 books for less than $7.
Happy shopping and even happier reading!

Diablo Lake: Moonstruck
Diablo Lake: Moonstruck by Lauren Dane is 99c! Sarah reviewed this one and thought it was a great start to the series. Here are some of her thoughts:
This paranormal small Southern town of shifters and witches and rival pack tensions between the Dooleys and Pembrys is immersively fun, sexy, and thoughtful. Protected just came out, but the balance of power in the Pembry pack is shifting (hur hur) from assumed power achieved from physical strength toward strategic and diplomatic strength – prescient and interesting reading on top of (hur hur) the sexxytimes. Bonus points: witches AND vivid, loving female friendships.
In Diablo Lake, Tennessee, a town populated by werewolves, witches, and more, magic woven deep into the earth protects the town’s secrets from outsiders.
Katie Grady left Diablo Lake to get over a humiliating breakup; but her family needs her help, so she’s back, in a sublet right across the hall from the guy she’s lusted after for years. Jace Dooley is hotter than ever, and their friendship picks up along with massive doses of grown-up chemistry.
The very scent of Katie sharpens Jace’s canines, makes the wolf within him stir. There’s nothing more alluring to a Pack Alpha than a sexy female who is so very in charge. She won’t be coddled, but if he plays his hand just right she might be convinced to become his.
Katie presents a challenge to Jace’s wolf nature, whose chief instinct is to protect. Especially now that she’s coming into the magic that is her birthright – and suddenly Jace isn’t the only one who’s interested in Katie, or the raw power she’s just learning to use.

Field of Pleasure
Field of Pleasure by Farrah Rochon is 99c! Like football? Feeling bummed that the season is over? This is the first in a four-book series about the New York Sabers – perfect for post-Super Bowl blahs. Even better, Farrah Rochon writes great dialogue so expect heated moments.
Is love about to even the score?
Life is one endless touchdown for Jared Dawson. Until the former playboy and star cornerback for the New York Sabers discovers his girlfriend in bed with another man. Reeling from the betrayal, Jared returns to his flings-with-no-strings ways. But no man can walk away from Chyna McCrea. The ravishing choreographer is already tackling the pro-footballer’s heart.
Playing defensively is supposed to safeguard against heartbreak. But how can Chyna protect herself from Jared’s sensual onslaught? It seems the hunky athlete—and sports world’s most eligible bachelor—has decided that playing the field is no longer an option. Together, can they score the greatest victory of all and be on the winning team of both their dreams?

Pregnesia
Pregnesia by Carla Cassidy is 99c! For those who are new to the Bitchery, I’d like to turn your attention to a piece of SBTB history. We had a guest review of this book back in 2009 and IT. IS. GOLD:
The heroine of this story is pregnant. And she has amnesia. A pregnant amnesiac. YES. She has taken shelter in a car the hero is repossessing. But don’t worry, the hero is quick to assure the bloody and battered heroine he isn’t a skeezy repo man – he usually only repos expensive crap like planes. And millionaires. He is also quite quick to inform the heroine he is a former Navy SEAL. Because simply saying he was formerly in the military would not be cocky enough.
Former navy SEAL Lucas Washington was an expert at tackling impossible missions. But when a striking–and very pregnant–woman turned up in a car he was repossessing, suddenly he was in over his head. Shaken and bruised, she couldn’t remember what had happened to her or why she was terrified of going to the police. Lucas made it clear he could be trusted, and vowed to protect her until she was safe. Hours turned to days as they searched for clues to her hidden past. Then a family came to claim her, and a happy ending seemed imminent. But had he just delivered his Jane Doe to safety…or into the hands of a killer?

All I Have
All I Have by Nicole Helm is 99c! This is a Harlequin Superromance and the first book in A Farmers’ Market Story series. Elyse gave this book an A grade:
If you like books where the nerdy girl grows up and the hot guy likes her or books where sexual tension sizzles across a market table brimming with cabbages, this is your bag. It’s a quick read, but an enjoyable one.
Let the battle begin
Mia Pruitt wishes Dell Wainwright would keep his shirt on. The Naked Farmer lures customers by stripping to his perfectly worn jeans while he and Mia sell vegetables from competing stands at the farmers’ market. It’s time for a showdown, and they’re each in it to win.
Yet when both farms end up in jeopardy, Mia and Dell suddenly find themselves on the same team. If their rivalry was hot, their attraction is steaming, but they can’t seem to agree on a plan. If they could only learn to grow together, they might reap the best harvest of all…

All I Am
All I Am by Nicole Helm is 99c! This is the second book in the Farmers’ Market Story series. The hero is a shy, reclusive veteran who makes doggie treats, and the heroine is more sexually experienced than he his. JACKPOT! I’m totally buying this one!
Everything she is. Everything he’s not…
Recovering from his time in Afghanistan, Wes Stone prefers the company of his dogs and himself. People, especially of the female variety, are…difficult. He appreciates that Cara Pruitt doesn’t treat him like an invalid, but hiring the party girl of New Benton to help out with his dog treat business is probably a mistake. And when her brightness and unexpected vulnerability somehow slip through his defenses, suddenly something terrifying is ignited inside him. Something thrilling. Something that could make Wes whole again…or consume him completely.

The Emperor’s Arrow
The Emperor’s Arrow by Lauren D.M. Smith is 99c! This is a fantasy romance, so if you’re on that genre kick, pick this one up! It was winner of Harlequin’s 2015 So You Think You Can Write contest and features a warrior/archer heroine.
Grand Prize Winner of Harlequin’s 2015 So You Think You Can Write contest
Debut author Lauren D.M. Smith delivers an epic fantasy romance in this soaring tale of a kickass warrior and the emperor she’s honor-bound to defend.
The bride candidates have been summoned. Their numbers are many, yet only one is an Amazzi warrior. Only one would give her life to protect him.
Evony of Aureline, warrior of her people, has no intention of becoming a hideous old man’s bride. Though her people have sworn their loyalty to the legendary emperor Galen, Evony knows little of courts and intrigue. It’s simply not her world.
Yet it’s on the palace training grounds where Evony’s archery skills gain her the respect of soldiers and legates alike. The emperor himself takes notice of the beautiful, ruthless warrior. In turn, the young, steely eyed Galen is nothing at all what Evony expected.
This man could very well conquer her heart. But does he feel the same?
As the rivalry among the remaining bride candidates intensifies and the plot for the throne unfolds, Evony must make a grave choice: fulfill her destiny and protect her people or follow her heart and pursue true love.
Either way, the honor of the Amazzi people and the future of the empire now rests with Evony of Aureline. For she is the Emperor’s Arrow.

The Best Laid Plans
The Best Laid Plans by Sarah Mayberry is 99c! This is a contemporary romance with a workplace element. Sarah says, “This is one of my favorite Mayberry romances. I love this book.” Have you read this one? What did you think?
Boundaries. The key to how corporate lawyer Alexandra Knight manages her busy life. However, lately all her precisely drawn lines are getting blurred. Blame it on her out-of-control biological clock that is ignoring her single status…and on Ethan Stone.
Because her sexy, no-strings colleague has posed an outrageous solution to her dilemma—he’ll be her baby daddy. This from the guy who avoids all commitment? Okay, so they’re attracted to each other. Really, really attracted. But crossing the line from coworker to co-parent with Ethan could ruin Alex for all other men. After all, when you’ve had the best.

The Emperor’s Arrow has “rivalry among the remaining bride candidates”? All I can see is The Bachelor: Medieval Times. OBVIOUSLY WORTH A LOOK.
I thought Carina books were supposed to be available globally? More and more, I find myself geo blocked from buying them on Amazon or the Carina Press website. *sadface* So much for checking out The Emperor’s Arrow.
I mentioned this in an earlier sale post but thought I’d mention it again. Be sure to check out Harlequin’s My Reward program. You earn rewards points when you upload receipts. For Valentine’s day, they are offering 2x the rewards points. The points can be used for free books! It’s a great program if you buy a lot of Harlequin books. I’ve earned about 10 free books so far since I signed up last fall.
@ms bookjunkie. Maybe you can get it from the harlequin website.
Uh . . . .Thank you?? I absolutely SWORE at the beginning of last week that I was done buying digital books. I have hundreds in the cloud, and I know I will read even fewer of them than I will the thousands of paper books I have filling every nook and cranny in my house. But I found two of your suggestions irresistible, and I’m now engrossed in All I Am. So thank you!! and Sigh. My resolutions are so weak. If I had any backbone at all, I’d unsubscribe. Tee hee.
Phsaw! Did you really think I wouldn’t already own Pregnesia? That I would have been able to resist all of the previous discussions of its glory. If so, you have more faith in me than I deserve because I bought that sucker ages ago. I still haven’t read it, of course, anymore than I’ve read the three others on this list I already own. Sigh.
Nope. Make that five. So, I already own all but one of today’s sale books, and all are unread. It’s bad, but I don’t even want therapy for my addiction.
Oh, man. I kind of want to read The Emperor’s Arrow, but all I can think of is Ebony Dark’ness Dementia Raven Way, and the fact that “Evony” was one of the alternate spellings. I don’t think I could get all the way through the book with that image in my head.
Loved All I Am. Loved the hero. Loved the heroine. Loved the whole thing.
Just take my money. It’s cool. I don’t need it.
I totally had to get Pregnesia. I’ve been trying to get two of my pregnant friends to read it with me and I think this sale may have roped in one of them. (The other one said this was “not her kind of book” but she also DNF’ed The Rosie Project, so I think we may not find the same things funny.)
I suspect many people are going to be wishing they had spent 99 cents on the review instead of Pregnesia.
Can we get a cover snark piece on Amy Helm covers? I swear both of those look as if they were badly Photoshopped together.
Reading Elyse’s The Bachelor recaps makes “The Emperor’s Arrow” seem much more appealing to me than it normally would… For $.99, I’ll one-click
All I Am was excellent. Highly recommend. And you don’t need to read the first book (although it’s pretty good too).
That Pregnesia review was spectacular. Also, I really enjoyed All I Have and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
Only problem with this list is you’ve recommended a few before so I already purchased – but everyone needs to read Pregnasia! It’s awesome. And Best Laid Plans was excellent.
@ms bookjunkie. Yes I found this while trying to buy a paper copy of Lucy Parker’s “Act Like It”. The Harlequin website says it will only sell to the USA or Canada and directs me to the Australian Mills and Boon site. Where they don’t sell the book. They don’t sell it at the UK Mills and Boon site either. I would say that they have decided that only North Americans want to read about theatre actors in London, but it is more likely to be an internal company decision about what kinds of books to release in which market (Mills and Boon are owned by Harlequin).
@Ken
Cover snark: I expect a velociraptor jumping out of the bush in “All I am” at any moment! Seriously – there should be at least at brontosaur in the background 🙁
I’m reading All I Have now! I was pulled in by All I Am’s cover last year and loved it! I rarely to never read Harlequin category romance, and these two books surprised me. I’ve been seeking out more of the author’s books.
LOVE both those Nicole Helm books, they’re really good (I think they caused me to realize that I just really like the superromance line, because I normally find HQ’s other category titles too short for my taste). I’d buy Pregnesia, but I already own it (thanks, mom’s basement full of intrigues!)
How have I never heard of The Emperor’s Arrow before now? Sounds like my kind of crack. Grabbed that and two others, because I obviously can’t resist cheap books, despite my unread queue.
I loved Emperor’s Arrow … it started a bit slow but I started looking for a sequel as soon as it ended.
Harlequin must be really pushing their Medical Romance series. About 20 of them are showing up as freebies right now.

There are a bunch of Harlequin Presents with a “billionaire” theme on sale for $0.99 right now.
