It’s HaBO Tuesday, where we try to reunite readers with romances, based solely on extremely vague and random details! This HaBO is from Heather:
I read my first romance novel in the mid to late 90’s. I don’t remember a whole lot about it, but I remember at the time I loved it. I had gotten it at the library, but have never seen or heard of it since. Here’s what I remember:
– It was a historical romance.
-The plot had something to do with an object called Shangri-La.
-The heroine was in a lower class and was trying to save her little brother.
-I think she worked for the hero.
-I think the villain may have been her landlord.
Any clues you or your readers can give me would be really appreciated. I have been looking for this book for years and would love to add it to my collection for sentimental purposes.

Could this be Forbidden Magic by Jo Beverley? The heroine has a magic statue called a sheelagh-ma-gig which is stolen by an evil landlord when she leaves it behind.
