It’s the eighth and final night of the Extrava-Hanukkah giveaways!
I hope you’ve had as much fun as we have with all the mayhem and merriment. It’s just delightful for me to celebrate all of you and to party for eight straight days.
The eighth night of Hanukkah is pretty special for me, too. We can probably heat the whole house with the warmth from all the candles, and we can definitely make s’mores. It’s bright and warm and beautiful while the are lit, too.
On to the giveaway! I know you like the handbag giveaways – I try to pick patterns that go with everything and shapes that are both useful but not too overwhelming. And I have one more bag in the strangely-shaped prize closet!
Today’s giveaway is:

A Kate Spade Blake Avenue Margareta tote in Diamond Dot!
This bag is 11.3″ high, 15.6″ wide, and 6.2″ deep (27.9cm x 39.5cm x 15.24cm), and the handle drop is nearly 10 inches (25cm). You’ll definitely be able to put it over your shoulder.
It’s an open tote with a recessed zipper closure, and it has two inside slide pockets and a zipper pocket as well. You can carry just about everything you need in this bag.
And, since you’ll need to get some new books and possibly other treats for yourself, we’re adding a $25 gift certificate to Amazon as well! Woo hoo!
Ready to enter? All you need to do is tell us about a book you really want to read next year. Maybe it’s a title or a series you’re anticipating, or maybe it’s a book that hasn’t been written yet but you still want to find it? What book are you looking forward to, real or imagines?
Standard disclaimers apply: I’m not being compensated for this giveaway. Void where prohibited. Must be 18 years of age. It’s totally okay to mix patterns while carrying this tote. Honestly, wear whatever you want. You’re going to look fabulous either way! Open to international residents where permitted by applicable law. Comments will close at or near 12pm ET on Sunday 1 January 2017 and winners will be announced shortly afterward.
Happy Hanukkah everyone! Thank you for being part of the Smart Bitches community!
Update: Our final winner of our Extrava-Hanukkah giveaway is Jill L.! Big thank you to all the comments and to every one of you who make the community so awesome! Here’s to great things in 2017!

I’m really looking forward to the third book in Libba Bray’s Diviners Series. The first two took me outside of my normal reading habits and I really enjoyed them. Her website says she’s working on it now and GR says 2017 so…fingers crossed!
Nalini Singh’s next Guild Hunter book because I just finished rereading ARCHANGEL’S HEART 😀
I haven’t read A Court of Mist and Fury yet, so I’m looking forward to that!
I am a sucker for EVERYTHING that Ilona Andrews writes, so I’ve been impatiently awaiting the release of White Hot, which will happen in May. Also, I need another Inkeeper Book. Also, another book set in the Edge.
Devil in Spring by Lisa Kleypas. I’m also nervous because I have seriously high expectations for it.
The Other is Etched in Bone by Anne Bishop. I’m so curious as to how she will wrap it up but sad too. This is a world and characters I will really miss.
I’d be very very happy if a new Comoran Strike novel comes out.
I’m looking forward to A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas in May.
I really want to read all of the Miaden Lane books. I own them all, and I have read NONE!
I’m really looking forward to Seanan McGuire’s next InCryptid book: Magic for Nothing! I love this series! This one comes out in early March 2017!!!
I really want to read the 10th, (and last, I’m pretty sure) book in the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews.
Also some good biker romances. 😀
OK.The new Sinners’ Gin book, by Rhys Ford, or a new Psycop book, by Jordan Castillo Price, or the Anne Bishop Others book.
Anything by Shelly Laurenston, GA Aiken, Nalini Singh, or the black Dagger Brotherhood. I have so many series I read, authors I follow that I can’t wait until the next book I can read is out. Currently I’m listening to audiobooks of my favorites at work to pass the time between.
The final (!) Maiden Lane book by Elizabeth Hoyt.
My overall goal is to cut down on the books in my TBR that I’ve already bought (I’m so weak for book sales). Specifically, I really want to read Maggie Stiefvater’s Raven Cycle next year. It seems like everyone I know raved about it, it’s now complete, and I even bought the first one recently, so it’s time.
Oooh, that are so many reads I’m anticipating but the one at the top of my list is from one of my must-read authors, Jill Shalvis’ Accidentally On Purpose.
I’m really looking forward to Devil in Spring, the next Others book by Anne Bishop, and either the next Cyclone book or Worth Saga book by Courtney Milan.
I really want to read White Hot by Ilona Andrews. I sooo loved the first book in the series. Happy New Year!
I’m really looking forward to Gwenda Bond’s next Lois Lane book. A YA series featuring my favorite character is something I thought would only happen in my dreams. Also Rachel Aaron’s next Heartstriker book (I think the last one?).
The Unyielding – the next book in The Crows Series by Shelly Laurentson and the next book in the Beard Science series by Penny Reid
The new Annabeth Albert book, Off Base.
I can’t wait for the third book in Shelly Laurenston’s Call Of Crows series The Unyielding. That series is my catnip!
I am looking forward to any books by Ilona Andrews, Nalini Singh, and J.D. Robb. White Hot, Silver Silence, and the next In Death are all must reads.
I’m really looking forward to the next book in Courtney Milan’s Cyclone series, Find Me.
Joanna Bourne’s next (last?) Spymaster book is expected out in August… I can’t wait!
And I’m looking forward to the not-so-super secret project with Alyssa Cole and Rose Lerner and gang?
I am waiting, waiting, waiting for White Hot by Ilona Andrews. And the next book too!
I want to read books by Elizabeth Hoyt; just started reading romance novels (I am usually a cozy mystery fan) and I have heard a lot of this author and hope to read book from her.

Yet another Lisa Kleypas fan looking forward to Devil in Spring
I’m looking forward to reading Glass Tidings by Amy Jo Cousins.
Thick as Thieves, Megan Whalen Turner’s fifth Queen’s Thief book. I think need to re-read the first four first, even though I read them in 2014. It’s been 20 years since the first book was released, which I guess makes Turner officially a slower writer than George R.R. Martin 🙂
Hanging Tree, Ben Aaronovitch’s new Peter Grant book! I also just received The Burning Page by Genevieve Cogman (the THIRD book already in the Invisible Library series, wow) as a loan from a friend, so I’ll be reading that in 2017, pronto. 😉
Currently I think it’s a tie between Find Me by Courtney Milan and Down Among the Sticks and Bones by Seanan McGuire
My comment doesn’t appear to have posted–gives me a change to be reminded that Devil in Spring is coming out this year! How had I forgotten? No idea. Still looking forward to reading Hanging Tree (Ben Aaronovitch’s Peter Grant series) and Burning Page (Genevieve Cogman’s Invisible Library series) as well. 😉
Either Pretty Face by Lucy Parker, which is coming out next February or Mount! bu Jilly Cooper, which is out and is waiting for me an the Amazon gift card my son gave me for Christmast.
I have been waiting a while for the rest of the Hidden Legacy books by Ilona Andrews. It’s soooo close now!
Standard but always true answer: the next new Nalini Singh (no matter what the series). Because awesome. <3
All the books I was going to read this year, before it turned out to be so debilitatingly depressing! I have a handful of gothic romances by Eve Silver and others, some nonfiction and political stuff, etc. I’ll make it through a Goodreads challenge one day.
Another for Devil in Spring! I’m also looking forward to Genevieve Cogman’s new Invisible Library book, The Burning Page.
Oooh so many! I have a friend who’s writing a well-researched and clever M/M bear shapeshifter novel that I am DYING to read. And I hope next year I will finally get around to reading the fourth installment of Stiefvater’s The Raven Cycle.
And I hope Courtney Milan will write some period romances again because noone quite writes them like she does and they’re my total catnip.
Ilona Andrews next Kate Daniels and Sherry Thomas’ next Sherlock, I loved the first book! Oh and Deanna Raybourn’s A Perilous Undertaking to be sure.
It seems very portent that the last night of Hanukkah is also the last night of the year.
Wishing everyone all the best in 2017.
Two books I am really looking forward to are The Unyielding by Shelly Laurenston and The Thing About Love by Julie James.
Lookibg forward to Anne Bishop’s Etched in Bone! Also Shelly Laurenston’s book. Wanna read ’em now! Hehe
