graphic image of menorah with a book in front. It's probably supposed to be the torah or something but I'm pretending it's a romanceIt’s the seventh night of the Extrava-Hanukkah Giveaway! Only two nights left – so let’s get this one going, eh?

I hope you’ve been having a lovely holiday and are surrounded by warm and delicious things, and possibly warm and delicious people, if you’re into that kind of thing (I hope not. Warm people are good. Eating people… not so much.)

So that took a turn.

Anyway, perhaps you’re surrounded by everyone and everything you love, or perhaps you need some time to yourself to recharge and read. Or both! (I really hope you’re not surrounded by cannibals.)

Today’s giveaway:

A Kindle Paperwhite WiFi with Special Offers!

And you’re going to want to put books on it, I presume, so we’ll add a $25 gift card to go with it. Woo!

All you need to do to enter is tell us where is your favorite place to read? Even if it’s not real, or if it’s far away, share one of your favorite locations to read and relax, and you’re entered to win.

Standard disclaimers apply:  I’m not being compensated for this giveaway. Void where prohibited. Must be 18 years of age and ready to turn up your Paperwhite brightness to eleven. Unless it hurts your eyes. Then do whatever is most comfortable for you! Open to international residents where permitted by applicable law. Comments will close at or near 12pm ET on Saturday 31 December 2016 and winners will be announced shortly afterward.

Update: Jamie is our winner! We have one more giveaway left! Best of luck!

  1. The window seat at my best friend’s house.

  2. Laura CF says:

Anywhere I can! But in actuality, I like reading during my lunch hour at work. It’s quiet, I’m left alone, and I’m eating. Best of everything!

  3. Jenny says:

My favorite place to read is in the family room at my mother-in-law’s house in the Pacific Northwest, listening to the rain, cozy next to the fire that I don’t have to tend, waiting on dinner I don’t have to prepare, listening to happy children I don’t have to entertain. My in-laws spoil me, and it makes reading feel so decadent and delicious.

  4. Amy S. says:

My favorite place to read is curled up on one of the oversized chairs in our family room.

  5. Amanda says:

My favorite place to read would be in my bed but any place with lots of pillows and blankets works.

  6. Amanda says:

I like to read best on my couch in a quiet house. Key word is quiet since I have a six year old and that’s rarely the case!

  7. Dawn says:

Sitting in my recliner, w/ a coffee and my pets near me.

  8. Rebekah says:

Cozy window seat…. especially if it’s raining!

  9. Ann says:

My favorite place to read my Kindle is on the sofa in my living room by the fireplace. In the morning with a cup of coffee. It’s my favorite place year round but especially in the winter. My husband lights a fire in the fireplace for me and my reading is accompanied by its crackling warmth.

  10. Renee C. says:

I actually like to read on the floor in my room!

  11. merry z. says:

In the winter, I stretch out on my sofa with pillows behind me and a fur throw over me. It’s heaven.

  12. Kate says:

The bath. I keep ziplock bags in all bathrooms for those times when electronic devices are involved.

  13. Emily says:

Somewhere cozy! I like making pillow nests, and now that it’s cold enough to put the heater on it’s even better.

  14. Aldona says:

I have my own room. It’s decorated in yellow and blue and my wonderful husband just repainted the room for me in time for Christmas. My books and cd’s and everything else I need to feel special and cozy and private and wistful are contained in this room.

  15. Pat says:

    I love reading in bed!

  16. Liz says:

Anywhere I have my book, but especially snuggled up in bed.

My favorite place to read is in my recliner.

  18. HannahS says:

I have always wanted a reading nook. Something that’s uber comfortable, and you can curl up for hours and read to your hearts content. I’ve seen pictures of what I imagine it to be, and maybe one day we’ll win the lottery so I can actually realize that dream! 🙂

  19. Bill Fiscgher says:

My favorite place to read is at home in my comfy chair.

Cuddled under a blanket in bed or in a comfy chair.

    in bed

My favorite place to read is in bed.

  26. Jules says:

My favourite place to read was the window seat in my childhood bedroom where I made friends with Anne Shirley, Jo March, Elizabeth Bennet, Anne Elliot and Jane Eyre. When I was back at home with my kids over Christmas, I was delighted to find my son and daughter curled up there and reading away!

  27. Sarah Williams says:

My favorite lace to read is in my hammock on the front porch in spring and autumn. In the summer, inside on my couch, in the winter, in front of the fireplace with a hot buttered rum.

  28. Rebekah says:

    Curled up under a blanket.

  29. Christa says:

I read everywhere. But currently my favorite place is our wintergarden. I can only use it when the weather fits, which makes reading in it such a special treat.

  30. Jessica Betterly says:

I love to read curled up in bed, the night dark and quiet beyond my windows … Quiet until the owl hoots from the trees nearby. With eReaders, this becomes even better, as you are in this island of book, surrounded by darkest night.

  31. M &M says:

I love to read in bed, snuggled up with my cat, who is the best snuggle buddy in the world!

I also love to read on the beach or by the pool when I get the (rare) opportunity.

  32. Anne says:

In bed. With a heated blanket if it’s winter!

  33. Natalie says:

I’ve had two favorite places to read–both uncomfortable, and both fit in with a romantic ideal I had in my girlhood imagination. First: in a sour cherry tree at my grandparents’ farm in Michigan. When I was 11, my butt was only just barely big enough to fit in a crook of the tree, but I read up there every chance I got. Second: perched on the slightly side windowsill of my bedroom window; I could look down at two streets through the branches of the big maple in our front yard and pretend I was Anne of Green Gables, reading in her upstairs room.

I have so many favorite places to read! But if I had to choose just one…I think curled up on my couch with a bunch of pillows and a blanket would be my favorite.

  36. Nada says:

My favorite place to read is, weirdly enough, in the car. I have so many memories of reading some of my favorite books in road trips and it just relaxes me.

  37. Melissa White says:

My favorite place to read is our screened back porch. The cats can safely join me there and we can hang out together.

  38. ReneeG says:

On my comfy sofa with a blankie and a cat or two, tea on the convenient table. I can hear what is going on in the basement and see the mountains by looking out the window. Wish I was there!

  39. Vanessa Davies says:

My favourite place to read is near water! At the beach, poolside, in the bath… any of it!

  40. Kerry D. says:

Either in bed or curled up on the sofa, preferably under a blanket or quilt.
