I’ve got a big overstuffed chair with a giant ottoman that sits under a skylight in the warmest room in the house. I like to read in the bath too. There used to be club chairs in an alcove on the second floor stacks at Powell library, tall sunny doors with a wonderful view. I used to go there at lunchtime, it really was my favorite place to read.
Reading in the bathtub is the best. So relaxing and warm. I can just focus on the book.
anyplace I can…. life is too busy right now, so I grab whatever time I can, wherever I may be… just a few quiet minutes to read is awesome!

Generally in bed, surrounded by warmth and softness. But lately, I really enjoy reading in the conference room at work (during my lunchtime, of course!) that has a great view of downtown and the baseball field.
Curled up with a blanket somewhere soft and warm. A squashy chair, probably with a nice hot cup of tea.
In reality, I don’t have a favourite place. As I work far from home, I spend a lot of time in the tube so it’s where I read most but I have to confess that I prefere the coziness of a real room. So in order to enjoy books, I have to say that if the book’s good enough, I’m in it, with the characters so it can be on Mars or in a Regency ballroom, it doesn’t matter and it’s great to be in so many places in my mind while my body is in the parisian underground.
But if I have to choose one place in particular, I should say, the small room between the Library and the stairs that my BFF and I have invented for a time-travel novel. It’s small, cosy, with a tiny window from which I can see whatever I want. And knowing that I have just a door between a library and myself is the best feeling ever.
I read most in bed before going to sleep.
On a blanket under a tree in the summer. This is weirdly specific, but right now I’ve got a foot of snow so I’m dreaming of sunnier days.
In my comfy bed, with my window next to me to give me the sight of the sky and sun (on clear days) or the pretty pretty rain (in rainy days).
Right now, at home, in the living room. Though, in the bathroom, on the toilet is a close second. People are a lot less likely to interrupt me there.
During warmer months, there’s this park near my house that hardly ever gets used. Sadly, there’s nowhere good to sit, so going there to read is a bit of a production, but totally worth it.

My favorite place to read is in my big, comfy blue chair… with a cat or two on my lap and a cup of peppermint tea!
I love to read in my cozy chair near the wood stove, with a warm blanket, a cup of coffee, and 4 dogs at my feet. On a really cold day, my kitty sits in my lap as a book prop:)

Curled up on the bed with my pups around me is the real world. But, I would love to sit on a big comfy couch in front of a fireplace with a warm and toasty first blazing in the hearth.
my campus/work has a beautiful little water fall installation. In spring and summer, I like to sit on a rock and listen to the water while I read. My second favorite place is my bed …
A chair in my bedroom. Far away from my sports watching husband
My actual favorite place to read is a chair in my living room, surrounded by my dogs. My fantasy favorite place would be in a cozy library, with bookshelves that need one of those tall ladders on wheels, in an overstuffed chair, in front of a fire, while a snowstorm rages outside. The fantasy library would also have my dogs curled up in front of the fire, and I would also be sipping tea while reading.
I generally love to read in bed. But I’ll read anywhere as long as my dog is snuggled up next to me.

Like a lot of people, I read anywhere that I can. However, my favourite place is either my couch with my cat or my bed, snuggled up to the hubby.

My favorite reading spot is my bed. I have a ritual where I spread back the covers, fluff the pillows, turn on lamp, make sure I have water, the or wine to drink grab the book or my tablet and start reading! I don’t usually stop until I hit myself in the face with the book because I’ve fallen asleep!
Absolutely in bed. When I was younger my parents used to lament the amount of time I would spend tucked away in bed giggling to myself at whatever I was reading. They tease me about this to this day.

My favorite place to read is sitting on the balcony at Disney World’s Animal Kingdom Lodge-Kidani Village.
As a little girl, my grandmother gave me a little girl-sized pink easy chair and it was my absolute favourite place in the world to curl up and read. I’ve been trying to find an adult equivalent for the past 20 years since I’ve grown out of it!
