This is so! Much! Fun!
Ahem. Lemme put down this latke (curried sweet potato – YUM) and set up a giveaway, since it’s the middle of Hanukkah and we’ve got candles, latkes, chocolate to spare!
Time for the fourth night of our annual eight straight days of giveaways to celebrate Hanukkah!
Today?
A Kate Spade tote big enough to hold everything you need for an excellent reading day in any season, any weather!
The Kate Spade Grant Street in Jules is a large striped tote bag. It’s about 15.6″ long, 11.3″ high, and 6.2″ wide (~39cm x 28cm x 15cm), and has a handle drop of about 9.1″ – so you can put this over your shoulder, no problem. It has a recessed top zipper that goes the length of the bag, so your necessities stay inside.
The Jules pattern is cream and black stripes, so this bag will go with everything.
And you might need to put some books in it, so we’re adding a $25 gift card to Amazon!
You should be able to fit most of the books you buy in the bag, too. WOO!
Plus, we have some creative ideas, too!
Included with the bag we have:

- A spiral bound copy of the What Lifts You: Uplifting Designs to Color and Create coloring book by Kelsey Montague
- A limited edition lined hardcover journal celebrating the Psy-Changeling series by Nalini Singh.
- I Laughed, I Cried paper bookmarks

Thanks to all who participated in the comments, and don’t forget to have a book with you wherever you go.

My iPad is always with me, so I have my entire library available. My go to re-reads are any of the JD Robb “In Death” books.
Like many here I always have hundreds of books with me on my phone, but I’d pick the Psy-Changeling series by Nalini Singh as books I keep nearby with Caressed by Ice being my favorite.
Anne of Green Gables and the Harry Potter series live in my end table, with a rotating pile of TBR, which have been all romances in the last year. When you’ve got two toddlers at home, sometimes you need to clear your head with your favorite friends.
This is more a “time of year” book I have with me at all times: in December, I like to read Regency holiday collections. Reading of hearts aflutter amidst the greenery and kissing boughs is, for me, a required part of the season.
For me, it’s not about any specific books, I just need to have either my Kindle or a device with the Kindle app nearby. In the pre-Kindle days, I always suffered from book anxiety if (perish the thought!) I had to actually leave the house without a book.
The Blue Castle by LM Montgomery is my go to when I need to reading something soothing.
Not one book specifically, but always a book within arms reach. Even if I don’t think I’ll have time to read it’s there because, hey there might be two minutes read!
The Hero and the Crown by Robin McKinley – it has some romance, but it is also a great adventure book of a young woman realizing her strengths
I usually have Pride and Prejudice, an older Nora Roberts, and lately I have been rereading Lauren Layne books.
I’ve been carrying around Envy of Angels by Matt Wallace forever because I’ve been trying to get back on the reading train. Perhaps 2017 will be my year…let’s hope!
If I were in a hospital waiting room while some procedure was being done on someone I cared about I’d want to have any one of Patrick F. McManus’s books with me. It’s hard not to laugh when reading They Shoot Canoes, Don’t They? And if things were just a bit shaky, uneasy, or stressful in general I’d want a Georgette Heyer–generally The Grand Sophy, The Unknown Ajax or The Toll-Gate. And, while I have hard copies of these, having a kindle means I don’t have to decide ahead of time!
My tablet or phone comes with me everywhere. They include the Scribd app, so I have a lot of books, both eBook and audio, with me at all times. Favourites at the moment include several books by Megan Derr
The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley and Persuasion
As long as I have my Kindle with me I’m happy.
I always have Shanna by Kathleen Woodiwiss. I have it on my Nook and in paperback. It was my very first romance I read when I was 14. Love it!!!!
I like to keep a copy of Naked in Death by J.D. Robb nearby. Great escapist read that is perfect whenever I need a break.
I always keep Jose Saramago’s “Blindness” close to me. It’s my favorite book.
I always have my books with me since I carry my Kindle everywhere, but my go to author is Nalini Singh – Psy/Changling series. I can’t get enough of this series.
A book, my phone, and a Tide to-go pen for emergencies.
I always leave with the book I am currently reading. You never know when you have a couple of minutes to read.
I have a shelf of books that I think of as the “they go where I go” books. They have moved with me across the country and every move since: Complete Works of Jane Austen, The Lord of the Rings, the Harry Potter series, and Jane Eyre.
Right at the moment, I have my hardback copy of Nora Roberts’ Northern Lights with me. Re-reading well-loved romances is what has saved what’s left of my sanity this year!
I always have a book or my Kindle with me if I think I may get a few minutes to read. If all else fails, I can read on my phone. I have to have something to read (usually a romance).
I have a tiny little hardback of Jane Eyre in my purse at all times. I turn to it whenever I’m sad, happy, bored, or any other time, really. I just love it.
I like to have Lord of Scoundrels available at all times. But if we’re talking a physical book, Pride and Prejudice. I have some sort of disconnect while attempting to read it in digital format and much prefer the old Borders Classics version that is clothbound and has lovely woodcut illustrations
I have a copy of The Ordinary Princess by M. M. Kaye anyways near by!
My “go to” books are classic Julie Garwood’s or just about anything by Lisa Kleypas. I also always have a book ready on my phone or tablet. If there’s free time I’m ready to read!
I have my trusty e-reader with me at all times, it goes with me in any handbag I use, so I always have something to read. On the terrible occasions when I’ve forgotten my e-reader either at home or at work (it has happened), I also have various reading apps on my phone so I can read even if I am away from my e-reader.
I carry the Kindle everywhere, but if we’re talking about something that gives us comfort, my most frequent re-reads are Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (I’m a weirdo), Lover Awakened by JR Ward, and Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead.
Whatever book I am reading at that moment!!
Charlaine Harris. This good Southern girl always needs another good Southern girl on stand-by.
I always have my favorites with me on the phone, if I don’t take my e-reader 😀
I don’t know that it’s any one particular book. Just books in general. Although, I do tend to draw comfort from the Harry Potter series.
Mackenzie Family series by Linda Howard. Thank you for the contest. Happy Holidays!
Burt’s Bees lip balm. I CANNOT function with chapped lips, living in the desert like I do.
Jane Eyre, it’s my go-to always and forever.
It Had to be You by SEP and Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie
I have The Wall of Winnipeg by Mariana Zapata with me by my side. It’s my new, absolute favourite romance because of its ability to take my breath away and make me feel al warm and fuzzy inside. If you haven’t read it, please do. Xxx
My Kindle of course is with me at all times. But I also like to carry with me a book of nature essays. Wild solitude by K. Dean Moore or something by Robert McFarlane soothes my soul.
Terry Pratchett’s Discworld books are my comfort reads–especially the Three Witches books.
