This is so! Much! Fun!
Ahem. Lemme put down this latke (curried sweet potato – YUM) and set up a giveaway, since it’s the middle of Hanukkah and we’ve got candles, latkes, chocolate to spare!
Time for the fourth night of our annual eight straight days of giveaways to celebrate Hanukkah!
Today?
A Kate Spade tote big enough to hold everything you need for an excellent reading day in any season, any weather!
The Kate Spade Grant Street in Jules is a large striped tote bag. It’s about 15.6″ long, 11.3″ high, and 6.2″ wide (~39cm x 28cm x 15cm), and has a handle drop of about 9.1″ – so you can put this over your shoulder, no problem. It has a recessed top zipper that goes the length of the bag, so your necessities stay inside.
The Jules pattern is cream and black stripes, so this bag will go with everything.
And you might need to put some books in it, so we’re adding a $25 gift card to Amazon!
You should be able to fit most of the books you buy in the bag, too. WOO!
Plus, we have some creative ideas, too!
Included with the bag we have:

- A spiral bound copy of the What Lifts You: Uplifting Designs to Color and Create coloring book by Kelsey Montague
- A limited edition lined hardcover journal celebrating the Psy-Changeling series by Nalini Singh.
- I Laughed, I Cried paper bookmarks

A Rosamunde Pilcher book (right now Winter Solstice) and Lord of the Rings are always on my chairside table. Both comfort reads for me.
One of my comfort serves: J D Robb, Patricia Briggs, or Ilona Andrews.
No specific book, just stacks of books on most available surfaces. Having books available at all times fills me with a sense of comfort and safety. And plenty of Kindle books extra insurance.
I like to have my iPad near me, so than I have all my ebooks close to me!
Well, Jane Austen’s entire collection (in ebook form–my leather-bound edition is lovely but HEAVY). Another good comfort read for me that not as many people may know of is Katherine Kingsley’s “Once Upon a Dream,” which is a wonderful take on Cinderella. (The not-so-wicked stepsisters are hilarious.)
Sunshine by Robin McKinley
I always have my phone, and my Kindle is usually no more than a room away, so I always have my entire library. That said, Slave to Sensation and Beasts Behaving Badly are always downloaded. You know, in case of emergency.
I don’t tend to keep books with me at all times, but I guess I do have Elizabeth Gaskell’s North and South on my phone.
I always have my comfort reads with me through my kindle or phone. Comfort read authors include Kleypas, Dare, Cruisie, and Roberts. Having them close has gotten me through this insane year.
I like to carry a comics collection in my bag. They’re quick and easy to read whenever I have a few minutes before an appointment, etc.
My kindle with 3200+ titles. Comfort reads – Jane Austen, Diana Gabaldon, Karina Bliss, Sarah Mayberry, Shannon Stacey, Deanna Raybourn.
I always have my Harry Potter books with me. You know I really need a book and love it when I buy it full price especially in hardcover. Other books that I always keep near me are my outlander books and my complete works of Jane Austen.
A Julie Garwood historicals like The Bride or Honor ‘ s Splendour. A Nora Roberts or JAK book. A new favorite author that has become a comfort read is Nalini Singh.
I’m not sure i have one i carry everywhere, but i will always own a copy of Anne of Green Gables, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Jane Eyre. I’ve read and re read them more times than i can remember.
I carry around Pride and Prejudice (in digital form on my iPod) and also a children’s book “The Children of Green Knowe” by LM Boston (in paper form as it is quite light). Two other books I like to have available to me (and therefore have multiple copies of) are “A Civil Campaign” by Lois McMaster Bujold and “To Say Nothing of the Dog” by Connie Willis. Not strictly romances, but definitely books with Strong Romantic Elements.
Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase. I own it in four versions (paperback, kindle, iBook, and audio) so I am never without it.
I always have at least one Jenny Crusie and one Terry Pratchett with me at all times. Spiritual comfort, y’all.
I don’t always carry my kindle with me, but my favorite comfort reads are Pride and Prejudice and the entire Anne of Green Gables series (though I skip the sad parts in Anne’s House of Dreams 🙁 )
Jane Eyre without doubt!
Mostly, I keep my phone on hand, with lots of books on it. But Robin McKinley’s Sunshine has stayed on the reread-on-paper shelf.
Well, I always have my kindle with me, so that gives me access to hundreds of books. But whenever I travel, I carry a physical book with short stories. Typically romance, such as Rosamunde Pilcher. Love those.
I have my kindle with me at all times. Lately I’ve been reading all the Nalini Singh series because I love the strong women and men who respect them.
It’s usually whatever I’m reading at the time. Plus, I’m usually carrying an iPad with a fully loaded Kindle app on it. I will say that you can clock my not feeling great by looking at when I’m reading a historical romance. Currently congested and without a car, so it’s Duke of My Heart by Kelly Bowen. Threw it into my bag when I drove my husband to work this morning, fully knowing I wouldn’t have time to read it, but I needed it there anyway.
My Kindle is always with me, and it always has the complete Jane Austen, the Harry Potter series, and some Georgette Heyer. I’m covered for any reading emergency (mine or my kids).
The Princess Bride, my all-time favorite.
I always have my ipad with me wherever i go and have books loaded on both the kindle and the iBooks apps and a must have book is the ilona andrews kate Daniels series. a mus read any tim im feeling down as well as my favourite Nalini Singh books
Jane Eyre.
When we were dating, my now-husband made Conspiracy Theory style jokes about how I had to have a copy of Jane to feel ‘normal’ like the assassins in that movie had to buy copies of Catcher in the Rye as part of their mind control.
My Kindle, obviously, with dozens of unread books just waiting for me at any time as I don’t re-read very often and have an addiction to buying free e-books just because I can. But I suppose if one of my e-books were to take physical form for me to always have available nearby, it would be The Duchess War by Courtney Milan.
Because I have a Sony with an SD card, I carry all my books, but the ones I would take with me anyway are my Julie Garwood books. Most especially, Prince Charming, Saving Grace, and Ransom.
Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie. I have it in paperback, hardback, on my Kindle, and in audiobook. Definitely my all-time favorite.
Physical books? I’ve had all the Harry Potter books easily accessible at all of my dwellings. It’s comforting to have them near.
Ebooks? By the magic of the interwebs, I always have a historical romance waiting for me on my phone or Kindle. Just what I need to pass the time or for a little pick me up.
Either The Devil in Winter or The Governess Affair.
My Kindle always has Jane Eyre and Bet Me.
Ooh, well, OUTLANDER is pretty much my go to book. But my Kindle goes with me everywhere and I have 900 books loaded on that, so OPTIONS.
My mom’s old copy of Anne of Green Gables, Anne of Avonlea, and Anne’s House of Dreams. I read those three over and over, not realizing for a long time that there were three others before Anne’s House of Dreams. Haha. Anne was such a comfort to me as a young child and I still relate to her today. 🙂
I must have the Betsy/Tacy books in my house, along with Anne of Green Gables series and Little House series! I reread them about once a year.
Having my iPad close by means that I have a lot of books ready to go. A favorite comfort read is still Devil’s Bride by Stephanie Laurens. I was excited to find my first romance book where the female lead is a take charge, kickbutt kinda woman (not girl).
My go to read for 2016 has been Sweet Dreams by Kristen Ashley.
I don’t go anywhere without my eReader. It’s pretty full of romance and urban fantasy.
Only one? I thought that was the reason for e-readers. We could carry around an entire library in our purse. That is my story anyway.
If I had to pick one, it would be anything by Tiffany Reisz. I love her writing.
