Cranberry chocolate chip cookies from Rose Levy Berenbaum’s Christmas cookie book. I have a batch baking as I type and a tray of dough freezing for baking at a later date. Annual reread of A Christmas Gone Perfectly Wrong with cookies and Penzy’s cocoa scheduled for midnight.
I know it seems weird but I like to snack on hummus and pita chips.
My favourite treat is red velvet cupcakes! They are so warm and sweet and delicious.
Chocolate ginger cookies!!
Pecan shortbread cookies homemade is preference but the kind made by elves will do with a cup of tea or coffee depending on the time.
Popcorn — and I love Peggy’s idea of using chopsticks to avoid sticky fingers
chocolate chip cookies. yum!
Right now I am into gummy bears. No crumbs, and I normally read and eat in bed.
I never get tired of eating a simple, plain cake donut with a good, hot cup of coffee while I read, it’s nothing fancy, but it sure tastes incredible to me!!
brownies! the more fudgy the better! my favorite has to be Nigella Lawson’s dense chocolate cake which is a cake, i know, but it’s more brownie like than any brownie I have ever eaten!
Rum balls!
Mmmm biscotti made using the recipe at Smitten Kitchen. Plus some Chai tea or coffee for dunking.
Cookies!
Dark chocolate covered almonds
Tarts – obvs. 😉

Gingerbread cookies
Brownies, with a side of red wine.
Cookies. Lots of different kinds. Preferably not toooo crumbly or flaky or sticy. Rice Krispy Treats are actually really good for this. (The secret to really good ones is browning the butter and adding a little sea salt. If you want to get fancy, you can also add sage or rosemary or other herbs/spices. We’ve done Indonesian curry ones which were amazing.)
my mom’s sugar cookies 🙂 thanks for sharing!
Scones, biscotti, anything dunk-able 😉
Cake. Right now, I’m enjoying deliciously doused rum cake. With a cup of black tea. SO divine!
Blended Chai tea and a funfetti cookie.
Italian cheesecake made with ricotta! So much better than regular cheesecake!
I drink tea and may nibble a cookie or two.
I drink tea and may nibble a cookie or two.
Ginger snaps! And mince pies! And windmill cookies!
I never get tired of croissants. I would eat one every day if I could! And of course, reading and snacking is never complete without a nice cup of coffee. Happy Hanukkah!
Gotta mix the salty with the sweet, so it’s usually Walker’s shortbread cookies, followed by Lay’s potato chips. Which then leads to another cookies, which then has to be balanced with some more Lay’s potato chips. It’s a never-ending, stretch pants cycle.
Toasted challah with lots of butter and a cup of black tea with milk; what my Canadian Jewish grandmother would make me every Saturday morning as I settled in to read.
Local bakery has chocolate cake.
Everything is better with chocolate!
Lindt truffles in any flavor.
I’ll never get tired of eating chocolate chip cookies and reading!

Scones…delicious warm from the oven scones!,
Molasses crinkles
