Full confession: I really, really love Entemann’s donuts. (The yellow kind coated in chocolate.) I must limit myself to buying one box a year–when there’s a box around I tend to eat them all in a very short period of time.
Cupcakes or anything baked by my friend Jenn
Freshly baked bread with butter.
Jumbo Raisin Cookies! Cinnamon, Nutmeg & Allspice mmmm, guess who’s having cookies for breakfast.
These huge chocolate muffins from the shop right next to my office.
PENZEY SPICES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My homemade cinnamon rolls and a cup of hot cafe au lait. Perfection. Goes with every book and now that I read on Kindle and/or listen to audio books, not messy at all. 😉
Scones- apple cinnamon or blueberry! And coffee. Mmmm
Egg nog! I can’t get into the headspace of people who don’t like egg nog. It’s freakin’ delicious.
I love a cup of tea or coffee and plain crunchy butter cookies–scottish shortbread preferably or what we call in the South teacakes.
Whilst reading in comfort, I like to drink tea, English Style, with an assortment of non-crumbly cookies, crackers, or crustless small sandwiches.
Happy Hanukkah!
I love baking and for me the perfect home bake treat to eat when I’m reading is oatmeal cookies.
Ginger crinkles dipped in coffee. Comforting and caffinated, for maximum reading time!
I used to make amazing candied ginger coconut bars. Gotta go dig up the recipe 😀
Chocolate chip cookies (store bought) and a cup of tea. I enjoy baking cakes and muffins but not cookies so those I buy.
Peanut Butter Cookies!!!
I could eat shortbread any day, any hour, reading or not! Give me a strong cup of coffee too and we are in business. Happy Hannukah and Merry Christmas to all at SBTB!
Oh let’s see… I snack on all sorts of stuff depending on my mood and what I’m reading but I LOVE cubed cheddar and sliced pepperoni to nibble on.
Chocolate chip cookies!
Always and forever my favorite, despite the crumbs.
Pumpkin bread and tea
I can’t do it too much because of how caloric they are, but I could eat a whole sleeve of McVitie’s chocolate digestives.
Kardemummabullar (Swedish cardamom buns)! I could eat them all day!
Snickerdoodles made with almond flour! They make my tasteuds believe they have died and gone to Heaven, they’re that good! (And me being a confirmed Atheist…)
The recipe i’ve used is here, for those who want to try it out: http://noshon.it/recipes/almond-flour-snickerdoodles-gluten-free/
I’ve made them with a mix of almond and wheat flour too (about half of each), and they’re good that way as well.
Sugar cookies, which I say I buy for my kids even though no one eats them but me…
Peppermint Bark!! Just enough chocolate .
Classic chocolate chip cookies! Sweet treats in winter 🙂
Warm apple cinnamon scones with a cup of hot English breakfast or Earl grey tea. Yum.
Happy Hanukkah and merry Christmas to all of SBTB.
Popcorn drizzled with milk chocolate.
I love Lil Chocolate Croissant Bites from Whole Foods. I just inhaled 3 of them and irritated that I didn’t buy more. I warm them up in the microwave and they are just delicious. I don’t know who invented them but I want to hug them.
I have been comfort eating carbs and chocolate. We had to put our 16 year old cat Boo to sleep on Tuesday and my heart is broken. She was my BFF and slept by my side for 16 years. So I am comfort eating and try to keep myself busy trail hiking with my dogs.
Madelines! Even the Starbucks ones! So buttery.
Chocolate Chip cookies
Mmmm. I love to bake. There’s a spiced-cranberry-buttermilk bundt cake I make that I LOVE because it’s not too sweet (it uses fresh cranberries).
The other is “Dad’s Favorite Cookie” – oatmeal-butterscotch cookies. NOM.
Peanut M&Ms. Sweet and simple.
Not just when I read, but right now I’m enjoying a delicious torta chilena (which has nothing to do with Chile… or torta, now that I think about it. Think hard “mille-feuille” with lots and lots of dulce de leche between “feuilles”). For breakfast. ‘Cos that’s how I roll. Of course, while reading it’s even better!
Happy Hanukkah!
Cookies and milk! Sometimes chocolate chip, or ginger snap, but always with milk!
Potato chips by the bag.
Smart food white cheddar popcorn!
Homemade chocolate chip cookies but that doesn’t happen too often so it’s usually Oreos for me.
Brownie cookies! The Pioneer Woman has an amazing recipe on her website. Use Ghirardelli chocolate and you will not be sorry. Beware chocoholics you won’t be able to stop at just one or five 🙂
Oreos
I love these blondies: http://www.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/chewy-chocolate-chip-cookie-bars-recipe. Bonus points for not having to scoop out individual cookies.
