  • How to Handle a Heartbreaker

How to Handle a Heartbreaker by Marie Harte

How to Handle a Heartbreaker by Marie Harte is $1.99! This is a contemporary romance and readers loved the banter between the hero and heroine. However, others expressed wanting to knock the hero upside the head a couple times. This is the second book in the The McCauley Brothers series, and all four books are $1.99 each!

HE CAN’T GET HER OUT OF HIS HEAD
It’s lust at first sight when Brody Singer first lays eyes on Abby Dunn. The dark-haired beauty looks a lot like a woman he once knew, who died years ago. At first Brody fears his attraction is a holdover from that secret crush, but Abby’s definitely different. She’s a lot shyer, a lot sexier and, despite her attempts to dissuade his interest, absolutely mesmerizing.

SHE CAN’T GET HIM OUT OF HER BOOKS
Abby isn’t having it. She’s still trying to put her last disastrous relationship behind her and overcome the flaws her ex wouldn’t let her forget. But somehow Brody isn’t getting the hint. It doesn’t help that when writing her steamy novels, she keeps casting Brody as the hero.

Brody is more than happy to serve as her muse and eager to help make sure her “research” is authentic. But when their research turns into something real…will she choose her own happily ever after?

  • Catching Jordan

    Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally

RECOMMENDED: Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally is $2.99! This is a YA friends-to-lovers story that was recommended on a previous podcast. This book has a 3.8-star average on Goodreads, and readers particularly liked the heroine’s ambition and determination to excel as a quarterback. Other readers felt the book wasn’t particularly deep though. Several other books in the Hundred Oaks series are also on sale!

    ONE OF THE BOYS

  • Hell on Wheels

Hell on Wheels by Julie Ann Walker

Hell On Wheels by Julie Ann Walker is $2.99! This is the first book in the Black Knights, Inc series and if you can’t tell, involves dudes on motorcycles. Readers wanted more action and suspense from this romance, but if you’re a fan of Kristen Ashley’s books, these come recommended. All eight currently published books in the series are on sale for $2.99 a piece, so fill in your library or find a hero/heroine pairing that suits you!

    He’s the bad boy she’s always wanted…

Nate “Ghost” Weller has loved Ali Morgan nearly half his life. But he’s done something so heinous he’s convinced she’ll never forgive him if she discovers the truth, so he keeps his feelings and his secrets to himself. Then she blows into town with a mother lode of bad guys on her tail and Nate can’t deny she’s in serious trouble. Unfortunately, he’s the only one who can help her.

    She’s the good girl he’s kept at arm’s length…

Ali knows Nate as the most solemn, aloof man on the planet. Sadly, he’s also the sexiest. For years she’s avoided him, unable to stomach his dark scowls and brooding silences… especially when she secretly yearns for his touch. Now she must rely on him to save her from the malevolent shadows ghosting her every move. When the bullets explode, so does their passion. But can love really conquer all? Or are some things just too terrible to forgive?

  • Romancing the Duke

Romancing the Duke by Tessa Dare

RECOMMENDED: Romancing the Duke by Tessa Dare is $1.99! This is the first book in the Castles Ever After historical romance series and it won a RITA last year. It currently has 3.9-star rating on GR. Sarah reviewed it and gave it a B+:

I think this is a truly unique historical that will appeal to readers who aren’t often historical fans. This story captures both a distant time period, and the present day, reflecting it in the characters – with a story and a parallel set of references beside it that grow together until the meaning of both is intertwined and layered into something I haven’t read before. This is a romance that is also a little bit about the community around romance, and all the many, many people who believe in it and have their fondness for it in common.

In the first in Tessa Dare’s captivating Castles Ever After series, a mysterious fortress is the setting for an unlikely love . . .

As the daughter of a famed author, Isolde Ophelia Goodnight grew up on tales of brave knights and fair maidens. She never doubted romance would be in her future, too. The storybooks offered endless possibilities.

And as she grew older, Izzy crossed them off. One by one by one.

    Ugly duckling turned swan?
    Abducted by handsome highwayman?
Rescued from drudgery by charming prince?

    No, no, and… Heh.

Now Izzy’s given up yearning for romance. She’ll settle for a roof over her head. What fairy tales are left over for an impoverished twenty-six year-old woman who’s never even been kissed?

    This one.

That’s quite the cute shirt. Thanks for sharing it!

The Other Daughter and That Summer by Lauren Willig are both running at 7.99 on Kindle. Not an awesome sale, but a 2.00 drop from the normal Kindle price.

  3. Chelle says:

“Hell on Wheels” has a lot of my catnip but didn’t work for me. Too much suspension of disbelief required. And I thought it suffered from ‘First Book in a Series’ syndrome. Obvious sequel bait.
    YMMV.

I see that Gambled Away: A Historical Romance Anthology by Rose Lerner, Molly O’Keefe, Joanna Bourne, Jeannie Lin, and Isabel Cooper is now on sale for 99 cents for Kindle readers.

  5. Colette says:

The first 3 Rough Riders books in one volume by Lorelei James is an absolute steal at $1.00 at the moment. These scorchers are very highly recommended 😉

  6. MarciaS says:

In the Midnight Rain by Barbara Samuel is currently free at Amazon.

Riptide’s giving away 4 books “of love and hope” – http://giveaway.riptidepublishing.com

Roller Girl by Vanessa North (f/f, reviewed here, I think by SB Sarah)
Lead Me Not by Ann Gallagher (sweet m/m inspie)
Pickup Men by LC Chase (m/m)
When to Hold Them by GB Gordon (m/m, part of the Blue Water Bay series)

According to Riptide’s twitter account they were having server problems but it seems to be working now. I got my books.

I read the GB Gordon and I liked it, although the last 1/3 is had a suspense plot that I wasn’t really expecting. I’ve heard good things about Roller Girl and I enjoyed the one book in the series that I read (RG is f/f with a trans lead – the other two in the series are m/m and cis).

  9. LZ says:

One clicking everything. Am going to need these in the bunker.

  10. Heather S says:

“Nobody’s Angel” by Sarah Hegger, a contemporary second chance romance and first in a series, is as free as cheezy bread right now.

In case anyone would like to add another Jennifer Crusie to their collections, Agnes and the Hitman is currently priced at $5.99 instead of its regular $7.99.

I’m currently rereading everything that makes me happy and was pleasantly surprised to see this reduced 25%. Hope it helps others, too. Agnes was great.

  12. kitkat9000 says:

Also, some of the Kasey Michaels Alphabet Regencies are currently half-price at Amazon for $1.99. They seem to average a 4 star rating overall. Not having read these, I’m unable to comment on them specifically, though I do tend to like Ms. Michaels’ work, though ymmv.

Forgot to note in my prior comment that the sale price for Agnes is at Amazon as well.
