It’s also the fifth book in The Rogues’ Dynasty series. Some readers complained that the book was slow and a bit boring, while others loved the book’s secondary characters.

When Dashing Met Danger
When Dashing Met Danger by Shana Galen is $1.99! This (I think) is Galen first published historical romance and the first book in the Regency Spies series. Readers weren’t fans of the heroine and how she constantly gotten underfoot, while others loved the blend of adventure and romance. It has a 3.9-star rating on Goodreads. If you’re a fan of Galen’s historicals, much of her backlist is on sale!

It’s not that Lucia Dashing, youngest daughter of Lord Brigham, wants Alex to go away. She just wishes he wasn’t always so close—perhaps a few rooms, or streets, or continents between them would bank the heat of her attraction. But when her brother disappears, she’s no choice but to engage the earl in a battle risking her brother, her country, and her love.

The oft mentioned and well reviewed Amanda Bouchet A Promise of Fire is 3.74 on Amazon today.
I really enjoyed The Jade Temptress, as well as the first book in the series. It’s pretty stand alone, but it may have spoilers for the first book.
This reminded me a tiny bit of Memoirs of a Geisha – it’s set in a different country and century of course, but it gives you that behind the scenes glimpse inside a pleasure district. The romance is far, far superior to the horrible, child grooming, so-called romance in MoaG.
I also just want to plug Jeannie Lin’s Tang Dynasty historicals – they’re so good, and these two books are a good entry point.
