UPDATE:Â Congratulations to Holly for winning the Summer Crochet Giveaway! Thanks to all who commented. Your projects sound awesome!

I am making two winter hats, for my trip to Colorado later this year. I tried a bunch of different patterns before I found two that I liked.
Does anyone wear sleeping caps anymore? Besides me?
I am crocheting baskets and coasters to gift as Mother’s Day gifts next May.
I’m working on my first blanket. I am learning from some great youtube vids but it is slow going.
I wish I were making this: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/peacock-pretty-blanket
I just found out my friend Kelly is expecting her first baby and am plotting so this can be the most best dressed baby in the history of babies. Must make a blankie, of course, but gonna try my hand at making some crochet toys, which will look so cute being toted around in that bag!
Yay for crochet!! I’m working on the scarf that never ends… maybe I’ll get to actually wear it this fall? Here’s hoping
I am working on a couple of different projects. I have a 100-motif blanket I’m working on along with a Wonder Woman blanket for my God Daughter. And getting started on Christmas presents (dish cloth, dish towels and scrubby sets).
I’ve beeb experimenting with crocheting wire jewelry. Usually I have problems with tension, now the challenge is not kinking the wire and spacing the beads correctly.
Working on crocheted baby sandals for my new great-granddaughter.
quilt
I don’t actually crochet (my loops never managed to be the same size) but my mother and sister both do. They are working on caps and crib blankets for newborns at the local hospital, caps for chemo patients, and wheelchair blankets for the local nursing home. I would probably keep the books but I would definitely gift the crochet-related items to them (though that yarn is so beautiful I might request they make a little something for me with some of it-I have been wanting the fingerless wrist coverings from Outlander since I get cold hands and it’s hard to type on the computer with stiff fingers).
I’ve made some baby toys and a hat as a gift but I’m about to start granny squares and circles for a blanket!
This summer I’m working on a lightweight hats and scarves to send away with my friend who moves to China at the end of September. I’ve made a nice little scarf and I’m hoping to make a cute little hat soon. Apparently, in her apartment building there is no heating at all, so all our friends are getting to work on sending her off with warm things.
I’ve been busy in baby crocheting mode, seems like everyone I know is having a baby or grandbaby this summer! Blankets, and hats the last project I just completed was a white kitten bunting for baby, white cap with pink inside the ears, and two booties that button on the bunting and look like kitty paws.
I am attempting to find an easy tank top pattern. It would look fantastic in those colors! 🙂
I will come clean and say that I’m not crocheting anything but I would so gift this to my BFF because she’s awesome and it probably in the midst of some yarn project (did I say she’s pretty talented?).
I wish I were crocheting a round shawl, but sadly, my Brian this summer is just not up to it.
I’m working on a ripple afghan for my niece. I’ve got about 4″ done, the wedding shower is in September, so I better get moving.
I’m also about 90% done with my great nephew’s baby blanket. Maybe I’ll be done with that by the time he gets married.
@Katy L – Thank you so much for the suggestion! I’ve used Simply Soft before with thin cables, and quite liked it – I found that it has a good sheen that sets off the cables’ texture, and has a nice drape, which can often be hard to achieve with the bulkiness of cables. And considering that the intended recipient of the blanket is allergic to pastels, the vivid colours are great (variegated doesn’t work so well with cables, though, which makes me sad because I loveloveLOVE variegated yarn).
And btw, while they’re definitely not for newbies, crochet cables are actually fairly easy to work; they do require comfort in reading a detailed crochet pattern, and you need to know post stitches, but once you get the knack, they’re really fun.
It’s been a fun summer, teaching my almost ten year old daughter how to crochet! She wants to make Pokemon, of course…
I’m making some bitchin’ bookmarks! Specifically, the Lost Souls skull bookmark. They’re perfect in thread. I did the skull motif in a DK cotton and it makes a great coaster!
That yarn is ammmmazing.
I am crocheting a bear hoodie for my adorable godson! It’s so cute, it’s disgusting.
Next up is some baby booties and a baby football for my cousin’s baby, and a shawl for me.
I want iPhone and iPhone cozies. I followed a pattern to crochet an iPhone cover, but I didn’t really pay attention to hook size or yarn size (is size the word here?). So I ended up with a Kindle cozy. Also, I now understand gauge.
Just finished up a baby blanket in pinks and greys. Well, okay, Mom actually sewed the squares I made together, but it is now done. There’s a super fun granny flower pattern I’ve started and I’d like to try Amigurumi.
I’m making a Mermaid Tail Afghan for a high school friend who is going to have a brain tumor removed for the second time. She loves the ocean and I thought it would be comforting for her recovery!
It’s not summer here (winter, so perfect crochet weather) but I need to finish the blanket that I started for my first daughter an embarrassingly long time ago; and then start one for the baby – she’s 5 months, so at this rate I might finish it before she moves out.
I’m just a beginner, so I’m just doing a simple washcloth. Thanks for the chance to win this very awesome giveaway!
I would really love to crochet some really cute baby booties for my new niece who will be born next month! 🙂
I am learning how to knot socks (it is winter here in NZ), and I am using the GErman knitting technique…. I wish I was knitting or crocheting something cool like a street art spiderweb or another sheep (I mada a pink pom pom for this one: Cool Sheep
I’m entering on behalf of my mum. I spotted a peacock feather crochet pattern recently and I think she’d love this yarn to work with and that patter.
I’m learning how to crochet and my first project is a slouchy beanie to use when I lose my hair to chemo in a couple of weeks. I hope it’s finished in time!
I’m not working on any other project other than my giant house remodel, which is almost complete. I wish I was, however.
Currently, I’m crocheting a blizzard of snowflakes for my best friend from the crochet cotton her grandmother left for her. (My bff sent me a meme that went something like “If hugs were snowflakes, I’d send you a blizzard.”) When I’m not making snowflakes, I’m working on socks for assorted Christmas presents. Past projects for this year include “boob beanies” for a family of three – dad, mom, and toddler. SO much fun to make!! The photos they’ve been sharing have been a blast! Otherwise, I’ve been making dishcloths, towels, and edgings for assorted household projects.
I’ve got a lap rug I’m SO late in finishing…was supposed to have it ready for the end of school in June. What I want to do is learn Tunisian crochet – that would rock!
I’m making a sandshrew
I’m making (another) Over The Willamette shawl (for me this time, probably), and I (no kidding) started and ripped out the lace section 5 times yesterday trying to choose a contrast color.
I am crocheting a dice bag for my husband and daughter…. They just started playing D&D together!
I’m attempting to make an afghan. It’s my first one. I’m using Red Heart Icelandic.
I wish I could make my 2 year old son a beanie! He doesn’t like wearing hats because the bill blocks his view and I don’t let him wear it backwards because it makes him look thuggish. A beanie would solve my problem.
I’m working on a cowl for work. I’m outside a lot in winter and scarves and hats get in the way of my hard hat. So a cowl will do double duty to keep me warm.
