It’s time for another giveaway, this one for all the happy hookers out there–our crochet friends!

This giveaway includes:
A Crochet or Die tote bag by Spirit West Designs. The bag is 100% canvas cotton and measures 15″ X 19.”
Yarn! From another one of my favorite indie dyers, this is Dyeabolical Yarns Very Starry Night:

Isn’t it gorgeous? The yarn is somewhere between DK and sport weight and comes in at 270 yards. It is 100% non super wash wool.
A Feelin Super Fine project bag (I crack up every time I look at it).
A Fabulous notions bag, that totally works for storing your hooks.
A size K rainbow wood crochet hook from Knit Picks.
A size H caspian wood crochet hook from Knit Picks.
A tube of The Naked Bee hand and body lotion in Grapefruit Honey Blossom scent.
A hand sewn felt roll up case for storing crochet hooks.
And of course, books! We have The Girl from Savoy by Hazel Gaynor, which RHG adored, The One for Me by Sydney Landon, and a baseball romance, Drive You Wild by Jennifer Bernard.
Standard disclaimers apply: we are not being compensated for this giveaway. Void where prohibited. Open to international residents where permitted by applicable law. Must be over 18 and ready to hook as if your life depended on it! Rest your hands as needed, preferably by listening or reading a good book. The Starry Night yarn also has hypnotizing properties, so try not to stare at it too long! Comments will close around noon EDT Friday, 5 August and a winner announced later that same day.
Ready to enter? Just tell us in the comments what project you’re crocheting this summer, or what you wish you were making!
Good luck!
UPDATE: Congratulations to Holly for winning the Summer Crochet Giveaway! Thanks to all who commented. Your projects sound awesome!

No projects at the moment, because crafts are a winter thing for me. I like to be outdoors as much as possible during WI summers because I know I’ll be indoors in the winters.
I’m crocheting keyboard placemats as a gift for someone who’s been giving me organ lessons–I created my own (very simple) pattern and I’m so proud of myself.
Tiny shark baby booties.
Costco had a kit to crochet Peanuts characters, and I have been meaning to learn. DD2 has requested Snoopy and Woodstock for Christmas.
My awesome SIL has offered to teach me, so most of this stash would go to her as a thank you.
I’ve been eyeing my yarn bag. Does that count?
I just completed a sunburst blanket for my granddaughter and I need to start one for my grandson. I have a few scarves and a shawl as side projects that I work on occasionally.
I am making pokemon gear to sell while I’m out hatchin and catchin. Beanies, purses, book covers, cell phone holders you name it.
Gotta catch em all right?
A scarf!
I just started a blanket for the chair in the family room. We moved not too long ago and the place doesn’t feel like home without a bunch of handmade blankets. It’s a simple pattern that’s a square, but it’s crocheted in a spiral with varagated yarn. So no seems and few ends to weave in.
I’m crocheting team socks for NaNoWriMo! November is devastatingly cold in Sweden and my writing circle and I will be tapping away at our keyboards in a poorly heated country cabin north of Stockholm, so I have been yarning away at themed wool socks for the whole gang. Themes are as follows: Hufflepuff, Tardis, Ms Marvel (with the lightning bolt) and Ghostbusters (with an added appliqué).
I am trying to make some sparkly scarves as Christmas presents, but am currently hindered by having to work around cats (who are just trying to help!).
I started crocheting a baby blanket about a month ago for some friends having a baby. I’s an adorable ripple star pattern, but I started crocheting too late and the baby’s already born. Gonna finish it and give it on the baby one month? Is that a thing people do? #procrastinator
I am making so many things this summer! (Christmas is less than five months away!) But the thing I am most excited about that is on my hook is the Garden Party Jacket by Stephanie Pokorny/Crochetverse. Partly because it’s the first time I’ve actually made something more complex than a triangle shawl FOR MYSELF.
I have a new grandbaby..so I am making blankies!!!!!!
It is so satisfying!
I just finished an afghan in Tunisian crochet. The yarn was leftover from a Whismur I made to be taken to Outdoor Science Camp as a stuffed “huggable” for the first time sleeping away from home.
A granny squared afghan – because I’m smart like that to start a blanket in the summer!
Ugh, I kind of hope no one reads all these comments, cause mine’ll bring you right down: I’m crocheting a hat for my brother, who’s getting chemo; and finishing a scarf for a friend of mine whose mom died of cancer in the midst of making it for her.
I made a baby blanket for a friend, and am now working on an afghan for our living room.
I do not crochet but my mother-in-law does. She has made me and my children such great stuff over the years. I would love to win this for her. She makes great cell phone holders and they would look awesome with this yarn.
I’m just learning how to crochet. My first project is going to be a striped throw blanket for my son. I wish I could crochet well enough to make myself a lacy cobweby sweater for the fall.
@kkw: I think that’s really kind of you, and will mean a lot to your friend. I hope your brother kicks cancer’s ass.
I just learned Tunisian crochet and am using my new skill to make a Ravenclaw scarf. Because, wow, those scarves at HP world are way too expensive.
Don’t have a project at the moment but have been thinking of making some fingerless gloves – I tend to destroy or lose my woolly gloves from year to year so need replacements.
That yarn is my alma mater’s colors! I’d make a scarf for football games.
I’m not crocheting anything right now because it’s way to hot in Florida! But I wish I was working on my Granny Stripe Blanket because it’s going to take me forever to crochet a twin sized blanket.
I’m starting work on a scarf for my spouse (I try to make them one every year for winter) and then I want to start on an afghan but have yet to choose colors yet, I’m waiting inspiration (or a good yarn sale lol).
I just finished an ice cream cone pillow (based on Twinkie Chan’s free pattern on her blog) and am probably going to make a shawl next. I’d love to win this, so thanks for the chance! 😀
I am crocheting a crochet linen stitch scarf using Your Ratings Just Went Up by Nerd Girl Yarn. Thanks for the great giveaway!
Hi! I have way more crochet books and projects than can be finished any time soon. I definitely plan to crochet an elephant tea cozy and some toys for my nephew.
Working on a basket for DS2’s smaller “animal friends”–his bed is covered with stuffed friends, so we need some help corralling them!
I’m making a baby blanket .
While packing and sorting to move I found an unfinished project and decided to finish it. It’s a filet piece from 1935 and the pattern does not say what size yarn or hook to use. So at the time I started it I thought “bedspread cotton and #8 hook should do it” and expected it to turn out about the size of a placemat. Um — wrong. I ended up running out of thread — which had been discontinued since the start of this project — necessitating a hunt on Etsy and Ebay in search of enough of the same stuff to finish it. It’s close to finished now and about three feet long — which is actually OK as the table I’m planning to put it on is about five feet long so it will work out as a table runner after all.
After this I will be getting to work on scarves and cowls for Christmas presents. And thinking of designing an original gilet to wear to RT next year.
That yarn is just fabulous. It really is the exact colors used in Van Gogh’s Starry Night!
I just saw an incredible mandala Afghan that makes me want to pick up a hook again.
I’m working on a baby blanket for my best friend’s first child. It was going to be a cherry blossom branch, but since she’s due in October I decided to make it a Japanese maple leaf. The blanket itself is going to be the sky background with a fluffy white border with a branch across it and deep red/orange/yellow leaves.
I’ve got a couple of afghans in my in progress pile as well as a bear for Mother Bear Project.
A baby blanket for my new niece – sunflowers and daisies on a green background.
Working on a cotton yarn throw (beach colors). Too hot to even think of working on my already in progress bulky weight afghan.
I haven’t made a scarf in a while-so I might make one of those. I do have a half finished blanket in my crochet bag-but I haven’t been motivated to finish it yet. Maybe when the weather gets cooler?
I just started learning to crochet. YouTube videos are really helpful when written instructions aren’t clear. I’m working on a Winnie the Pooh amigurumi right now.
Currently working on a crocheted caravan for my great niece, a beanie for hubby, a dragons eye free form piece. I like lots of projects and flip between them 🙂
