Hello fellow Stitchy Bitches! It’s time for another summer crafting giveaway, this time for our cross stitching readers.

Included in this giveaway are:
- A Bucilla Bluebird counted cross stitch kit. This kit includes floss, needles, aida cloth and the pattern–everything you need for the project. The finished piece measures 10 X 8″.
- A copy of Subversive Cross Stitch: 50 F*cking Clever Designs For Your Sassy Side by Julie Jackson. This book of patterns is full of swears and humor. I’ve personally made the “Do Not Fuck With Me” sampler complete with bunnies and duckies.
- A Folklore pencil bag by Now Designs. This would be great for storing needles, scissors, and your other notions.
- An Italia Shopper bag. This bag is so cool because it measures 18″ wide by 19″ long when open but folds down to 4.5″ by 6.5″. This bag would be great for carrying your cross stitch project or for taking to the farmer’s market or local craft fair.
- A needlework blank pendant by Red Gate Stitchery. This 1.75″ by 1.25″ pendant has holes in it that allow you to stitch your own design to wear. The chain is 29.”
- A 25g tube of Crabtree and Evelyn’s Gardeners Ultra-Moisturizing Hand Therapy cream. Crafters need to keep their hands in good condition, and I keep a tube of this in my purse and my nightstand. It has a subtle herbal smell to it–not too flowery or overpowering.
- 1 oz of Fava Tea Company’s Pure Ice Tea. This black tea can be used to make iced or hot tea, but it’s less cloudy when steeping than most loose leaf black teas, making it ideal for icing.
- 1 oz of Fava Tea Company’s Decaf Peach Berry Green tea. I drink iced tea all summer and hot tea all winter. This fruity blend contains sweet peach and pineapple pieces, red Rooibos and hibiscus. It’s decaf so perfect for evening sipping.
- The entire Wicked Quills series by Eva Leigh. Woo-boy did we love this Regency series! The books are Forever Your Earl, Scandal Takes the Stage and Temptations of a Wallflower.

Standard disclaimers apply: we are not being compensated for this giveaway except that Elyse got to go shopping which is very fun. Void where prohibited. Open to international residents where permitted by applicable law. Must be over 18 and ready to stitch all the things, including potentially bunnies, duckies, and cuss words. Cross stitch can be addictive, almost as addictive as knitting, and those considering trying this at home should be cautious. Purchasing embroidery floss is also addictive. You’ve been warned. Comments will close around noon EDT Friday 1 July and winner announced later that same day.
To enter leave a comment below and tell us what you watch or listen to while you stitch. I’m a big fan of knitting while catching up on podcasts or listening to audio books. Do you jam out to death metal? Binge watch Netflix? Let us know!
UPDATE: The winner is Tonya K! Thanks to all who commented!

I like watching stand-up comedy.
I’d be watching Murder She Wrote on Netflix.
Whatever I’m bingewatching on Netflix, or Amazon Prime. most recently that’s been Poldark
Netflix is probably the number one thing I do while cross-stitching, or my iTunes collection. My music is pretty eclectic, from classicals to Big Band to 70s hits to country and soul.
All of the above! I have the entire Outlander series on Audible, so that’s a LOT of stitch-time. And every summer (I’m a teacher) my daughter and I binge-watch Friends, start to finish. But sometimes, I just sit on the deck with my dog on my lap and enjoy the peacefulness.
I watch dvd’s. I seem to get the most done when I watch TV shows and the extended versions of The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
While I embroider or knit, I listen to music I wouldn’t listen to while working out or driving – mostly instrumental, a lot of movie soundtracks and fan-created playlists. But lately, all Hamilton, all the time.
I binge watch and cross stitch. I’m particularly found of doing some stitching with my annual Buffy marathon. I think of it as an updated “stitch ‘n bitch”
I usually binge British mysteries on Netflix! Or listen to audiobooks!
I love stitching while watching old reruns of CSI. Something about Grissom’s voice calms me.
I keep it old-school and watch the original Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. You don’t have to totally pay attention since every episode is just about the same, but it gives me a sharp hit of nostalgia every time the theme song kicks in.
Outlander audiobooks!
When I cross stitch I REALLY need background noise but it has to be something I don’t have to pay a lot of attention to, so usually it’s either a bunch of episodes of something I’ve seen before (Bob’s Burgers, Archer, etc.), a stand-up comedy special where looking at the screen isn’t always necessary, or a really good playlist on Spotify.
Right now I’m working on a 3×2-foot cross-stitch of the Anchorman cast. I have watched a LOT of Netflix stitching this thing.
Currently Euro2016 football, usually whatever I’m binging on Netflix.
I watch sci-fi shows on Amazon video. I’m currently binging star gate Atlantis. Some of my cross stitch work includes, “Life wouldn’t be so hard if we weren’t muggles,” and, “You can’t take the sky from me.”
At home, I watch whatever’s next up on my DVR or Netflix queue. Out and about, I listen to whatever’s up next on my Audible or PocketCasts queue.
I could put on the BBC Pride & Prejudice to watch out of the corner of my eye while I stitched. Or I could comfort listen to some audiobooks. (I felt a yen today for Patricia C. Wrede’s Frontier Magic trilogy—Amanda Ronconi’s narration makes it spot-on perfect.)
(Also, OMG this giveaway is so totally my catnip. Fingers crossed!)
I watch TV usually something the hubs watches, nothing too engrossing to allow me to stich happy.
I had to update my comment, how embarrassing I used wrong email address!!
I love you wonderful ladies!
I’m watching my Netflix movies or TV shows. Whatever is next in the queue.
The cross stitch piece I just finished this weekend was paired with some OITNB. The last one was created during a Miss Fisher binge! Lots of that about on this thread. 🙂
Binge on Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime. Sadly addicted. Lark Rise to Candleford is good binge watching.
Definitely a Netflix binge for me when I’m knitting or cross stitching…I have to second the ladies above who mentioned Miss Fisher and British crime dramas (I tend to do a lot of Poirot).
I usually watch TV while cross stitching. I found Gilmore Girls to be perfect for stitching.
I haven’t stitched in years, but I usually watch TV.
I’m usually listening to Spotify or watching Netflix. Lately, the “Swagger” playlist and season 4 of Orange is the New Black.
I usually just watch TV – anything will do. I like being able to multi-task while watching TV.
Random TV… or Friends reruns, because I could just half-watch those all day 🙂
I love to watch the stuff I’ve taped, that my husband refuses to watch lol. I love animal shows, my favorite is Pit Bull and Parolees watching it right now.
The Subversive Cross Stitch book has been on my wish list for quite a while! For marathon cross stich sessions, the 1995 Pride and Prejudice wins hands down, followed by other Austen adaptations for shorter sessions. Cooking shows are good too, especially old favorites like Good Eats. Last night I discovered that Netflix has episodes of The Joy of Painting, so I had that on while stitching – Bob Ross is so relaxing!
I mostly watch Netflix while crafting but I do find that I’m a lot faster is I’m listening to an audiobook. I guess I tend to stitch slower during the exiting bits 🙂
Audiobooks, podcasts and various radio stations especially smooth jazz!
Audiobooks! I’m making my way through the entire “In Death” series by J.D. Robb right now.
Audiobooks are perfect for cross-stitching. I’ve been slowly working on pretty little cities when my knitting mojo disappears. Absolutely love the subversive cross stitch book.
While I knit I watch Murder She Wrote… Jessica Fletcher is a total badass!I also watch Broadchurch, Happy Valley, Miss Fisher, and Midsummer Murders.
I love watching Austen movies while i knit, but I haven’t been knitting for a while.
If I watch things, Netflix or HBO. So many shows to catch up on this summer, it’s ridiculous. I also really like to knit and cross-stich while listening to audio books.
I always watch fantasy epics. There is nothing better than spending an afternoon crosstitching with a mug of hot tea and Lord of the Rings on the tv. I’ve seen it so many times, I don’t even get distracted anymore.
Podcasts! My new favorite is Hidden Histories.
I love watching, or listening, to anything Agatha Christie (love Miss Marple) or I rewatch beloved shows that I don’t have to pay active attention to.
Audiobooks are fantastic when TV gets to be too distracting and I’ve been listening to American Gods by Neil Gaiman lately while working on a cross stitching project. I want to read so much but also want to work on a project and I’m glad such a happy combination exists.
