It Takes Two to Tangle

RECOMMENDED: It Takes Two to Tangle by Theresa Romain is 99c! This is the first book in the historical romance Matchmaker Trilogy. Elyse reviewed this book (Grade: B) and liked the heroine a lot:
If you’re a Regency fan who likes unconventional heroines, pick this book up for sure. If you like the Tragically Wounded Hero, like I do, pick it up. If you need your hero to really have his shit together, you may want to avoid it. Henry gave me heartburn sometimes, but the great conflict, and a kick ass heroine, kept me reading.
Wooing the Wrong Woman…
Henry Middlebrook is back from fighting Napoleon, ready to re-enter London society where he left it. Wounded and battle weary, he decides that the right wife is all he needs. Selecting the most desirable lady in the ton, Henry turns to her best friend and companion to help him with his suit…
Is a Terrible Mistake…
Young and beautiful, war widow Frances Whittier is no stranger to social intrigue. She finds Henry Middlebrook courageous and manly, unlike the foppish aristocrats she is used to, and is inspired to exercise her considerable wit on his behalf. But she may be too clever for her own good, and Frances discovers that she has set in motion a complicated train of events that’s only going to break her own heart…

Sins of the Highlander by Connie Mason and Mia Marlowe is $1.99! The description is giving me Old Skool vibes, what with the kidnapping and everything. It also has a slight road trip element to it. While some readers found the villain to be a little one-dimensional, others enjoyed the redemption of the hero. Have you read this one?

Psychos by Babe Walker is $2.99! I’ve heard about the White Girl Problems novels for a while now, but have yet to read them. So if any of you have tried them, definitely leave some opinions in the comments. Goodreads reviews mention that this book and the character of Babe isn’t for everyone. She’s narcissistic and a train wreck, but many readers just can’t look away.
In this hysterical follow-up to the New York Times bestseller White Girl Problems, Babe Walker travels the globe as she tries to figure out the answer to the question foremost on everyone’s mind—including hers: Who is Babe Walker?
If you’re one of the hundreds of thousands who devoured Babe Walker’s New York Times bestselling novel White Girl Problems or one of the million people who read her blog or follow her on Twitter daily, then you’ve obviously been waiting with bated breath for her hilarious follow-up novel, Psychos.
Fresh from a four-month stint in rehab for her “alleged” shopping addiction, Babe Walker returns home to Bel Air ten pounds lighter (thanks to a stomach virus), having made amends (she told a counselor with bad skin she was smart) and confronted her past (after meeting her birth mother for the first time—a fashion model turned farmer lesbian). Although delighted to be home and determined to maintain her hard-won inner peace, Babe now faces a host of outside forces seemingly intent on derailing her path to positive change. Not only is she being trailed by an anonymous stalker, but she’s also reunited with the love of her life, a relationship that she cannot seem to stop self-sabotaging.
Babe’s newfound spirituality, coupled with her faith in the universe and its messages, leads her all over the world: shoulder dancing in Paris, tripping out in Amsterdam, and hooking up in the Mediterranean, only to land her back in New York City, forced to choose between a man who is perfect in every way (except for one small detail) and a man who could be The One if only he didn’t drive Babe to utter insanity.
Unapologetic and uproarious, Psychos is the send-up of the season—already as timeless as vintage Dior.

I’m currently reading It Takes Two to Tangle and I love the hero and the heroine. At the moment, I’ve paused on it because it seems like they’re near they’ve figured things out but there are a lot of pages left and I’m worried for them. Romain’s writing always pulls me in as she has great characters though of the ones I’ve read so far, she also puts in a lot of plot.
The Wall of Winnipeg and Me is $1 right now (Zapata only sells through Amazon to my knowledge, sorry everyone else!). I really enjoyed both the book and the narration that I bought later.
