So after book blogging for 11+ years, “HEY NEW BOOK” usually brings on raised eyebrows or very quick reading of a synopsis. It’s not that I’m jaded or unimpressed, but with SO MANY BOOKS published EVERY FREAKING DAY it’s a never-ending ball pit of joy, if the balls were books, which would hurt, now that I think about it, except they’re mostly ebooks in my world, so the pit is really really metaphorical at this point. Anyway.
Then Lisa Kleypas dropped this news:
And if you can’t watch the video, no worries – you can see the sample pages and the book announcement on her website.
Key points here? The hero is Evie and Sebastian’s son.

As in Evie and Sebastian from Devil in Winter ( A | BN | K | G | AB ), which is probably my all time favorite of the Wallflowers books.

To say my eyebrows nearly flew off my head is an understatement.
OMG SO MUCH SQUEE.

And it’s not just me – I mean, I’ve got no problem dorking out in private and in public, but I think there’s a lot of OMG SQUEEEEE happening among romance readers right now.

So you can pre-order the book, which currently has the completely awesome title of UNTI KLEYPAS NOVEL #22, at Amazon and iTunes.

If, you know, your hands are done flying around with your squee dance. Mine aren’t. I’m working on it.
I’m guessing I’m not alone in my OMGSQUEE reaction to this news.
How about you? Excited? Got a gif? Still dancing? (Isn’t it great that the news of a book can make so many people so happy and excited? Gosh, I love being a romance reader.)

OH MY GOD I AM ALL OVER THIS. So happy there was a gif filled post dedicated to this momentous announcement. (Especially with a couple of eehhhh years of Lisa Kleypas followed by recent OH MY GOD SHE’S BACK historical romances)
I’m excited for this I suppose but truth be told I’m living and breathing for “Marrying Winterbourne”.
This is great news. I’m supwriting excited. Not because I lowed Devil in Winter but because I just adore when we get to see a second generation romance. Also love when writers connect series. London is London. It makes sense that one writer’s London includes the character’s they’ve already written about. The world should encompass all that we know. Hoping the other wallflowers’ children make an appearance. The hero should know them.
I just finished Marrying Winterborne and seriously squeed when I saw the preview. I’d hoped the next book would be Pandora’s and am beyond excited the hero would be Evie and Sebastian’s son.
Devil in Winter is literally my best book next to seduce me at Twilight.
That story has stuck with me for years and I was just hopping for a sequel.SQUEEL when I saw the exract from Devil in Spring. I had to blink and re blink and especially since I loved Pandora. My heart be blessed. CAN HARDLY WAIT
I finished Winterbourne this past weekend and I saw the preview. Ohmygoodness. I read Devil in Winter years ago in paper. I bought it on my e-reader, just so that I can be ready for Devil in Spring. Can’t wait, can’t wait!

At the tender age of twelve I picked up a romance novel and started to read at a random page. That book being Devil in the Winter, has my inner teenage self screaming in delight (as well as my adult self). I enjoy your blog immensely!
@Lauren:
That’s pretty much what my inner teen did, too. And thank you for the compliment! I’m very glad you’re here!
For the LOVE OF EVERYTHING THAT IS GOODNESS please make this into an audiobook as fast as the book is published!!!!
The book has got a title now, Devil in Spring. I’ve already pre-ordered in Amazon. I really enjoyed Cold-Hearted Rake (four stars) and just liked Marrying Winterborne (three stars), as the love story seemed insignificant amidst a lot of very interesting secondary characters. Anyway, thank you, LK, for coming back to the historical subgenre, I like you better in it.
