My notepad and sticky notes are my most useful item on my desk.
I have a small pair of scissors that is always within reach.
Technically my favourite thing on my desk at the moment is (one of) my cats…
Most useful.. Post it notes and pen holder. Seriously colored post it notes rock !

I sew for a living, so the most useful thing on my desk is my sewing machine!
My electric stapler – sadly hands can not work manual one!!
I have a tiny desk so there are 5 things only. The most useful is a Jaci Burton coaster.
I am addicted to cute paper clips (rainbow-colore, cat-shaped, etc.) and tape flags.
I love, delight in, derive great pleasure from, get a kick out of, and am partial to my thesaurus.
I have come to really rely on the usefulness of my phone for a lot of things like as a calendar or as a note taker.
I really have 2. A pen and a highlighter. Great giveaway.

I’ve gotten addicted to “fancy” mechanical pencils. My current fave is is the Kuro Toga roulette. The lead ROTATES every time you lift it off the paper so the lead is always sharp. ::swoons::
Currently, the most useful thing on my desk is a pad of large post-it notes, A5 size (about 20cm by 15cm) – I’m working on quite a complex project and normal post-it notes are just too small and paper gets lost but I can stick and move the large post-it notes around and easily see the whole picture.
I guess it would be my gold-handled scissors, which I guard with my life.
Most useful thing…highlighter. Everything must be bathed in yellow!
My desk is a baking station in a kitchen so I have to say measuring cups and spoons.
I have tons and tons of note pads. Most are used up.! I write down every thought and list and…..endless
My fave desktop item is my coffee mug warmer. When I get distracted writing on the computer it keeps my brew nice and hot.
The most useful thing in the vicinity of my desk is my giant wall calendar where I have my life mapped out in visual form. It used to be color coded as well, but I haven’t had time for that much detail and I’m trying to break my obsessive habits!
I have a notepad/book flag set that I use all the time as a grad student for marking up books.
Most useful item? My computer!

My favorite thing on my desk RIGHT NOW is my phone. But I agree that paper clips are the second favorite thing.
Magnets– I have a metal unit above my desk at work and stick things to it with magnets when I need them to either make my office look pretty or be close at hand for reference purposes. A colleague gave me some pretty ones, which just made everything better.
Honestly the most useful things on my desk is the cup of coffee!!

I only have a desk at my job, so the most useful thing is the OFF button when it’s time to go home! *rimshot* Seriously, the most useful thing is my staple remover. Whoever invented that should be sainted.

I have recently started using a new notebook with a cactus print + a black 0.38 Muji pen. But I also bought two new notebooks yesterday because I’m unable to walk past cute notebooks without getting some.
