  • Broken Juliet

    Broken Juliet by Leisa Rayven

Broken Juliet by Leisa Rayven is $1.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and is bring price-matched elsewhere, so if you bought the first book, Bad Romeo, yesterday or last time it was on sale, you can grab the second one considering the first book has a cliffhanger. Readers found the first third of the book to be repetitive as it rehashed the same things over and over, while others thought the hero’s grovel was sufficient.

Some loves never let you go…

Cassie swore she’d never forgive Ethan for breaking her heart when they were in acting school years ago. He was her one great love, and when he refused to love her back, a part of her died forever…or so she thought. Now she and Ethan are sharing a Broadway stage, and he’s determined to win her back. Finally he’s able to say all the things she needed to hear years ago…but can she believe him? Has he really changed, and what makes this time different from all his other broken promises?

The answer lies somewhere in the past, and now the truth will come to light. Will Cassie rediscover what it’s like to be trusting and open again—the way she was before Ethan? Or is it too late for these star-crossed lovers?

  • The Queen of the Tearling

The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen

The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen is $1.99 on Amazon! Several of my friends and colleagues snatched it up when it first came out, and loved it! It’s also pretty gorgeous to look at in person. However, perusing the GR reviews shows that readers either loved it or really hated it. Many had issues with the world-building, though quite a number of readers praised the unconventional heroine. This is also the start of a trilogy. Any interested?

On her nineteenth birthday, Princess Kelsea Raleigh Glynn, raised in exile, sets out on a perilous journey back to the castle of her birth to ascend her rightful throne. Plain and serious, a girl who loves books and learning, Kelsea bears little resemblance to her mother, the vain and frivolous Queen Elyssa. But though she may be inexperienced and sheltered, Kelsea is not defenseless: Around her neck hangs the Tearling sapphire, a jewel of immense magical power; and accompanying her is the Queen’s Guard, a cadre of brave knights led by the enigmatic and dedicated Lazarus. Kelsea will need them all to survive a cabal of enemies who will use every weapon—from crimson-caped assassins to the darkest blood magic—to prevent her from wearing the crown.

Despite her royal blood, Kelsea feels like nothing so much as an insecure girl, a child called upon to lead a people and a kingdom about which she knows almost nothing. But what she discovers in the capital will change everything, confronting her with horrors she never imagined. An act of singular daring will throw Kelsea’s kingdom into tumult, unleashing the vengeance of the tyrannical ruler of neighboring Mortmesne: the Red Queen, a sorceress possessed of the darkest magic. Now Kelsea will begin to discover whom among the servants, aristocracy, and her own guard she can trust.

But the quest to save her kingdom and meet her destiny has only just begun—a wondrous journey of self-discovery and a trial by fire that will make her a legend…if she can survive.

  • The Theory of Attraction

The Theory of Attraction by Delphine Dryden

RECOMMENDED: The Theory of Attraction by Delphine Dryden is $1.99 at Amazon and $2.99 elsewhere. Sarah didn’t review this book, but I really, REALLY liked it. She said:

I’m really finicky when it comes to erotic romance, especially romance with BDSM, and I thought this story was an excellent blend of erotic tension and character development. Plus the hero is really fascinating. This is a terrific free read – I hope you’ll give it a try.

And yes, the cover is really weird and looks like he’s going down on someone whose leg grew out of her ribcage.

Camilla can set her watch by her hunky rocket-scientist neighbor who jogs past her window each day. She relishes each glimpse of his shirtless abs, and is dying to see more. But it’s hard to connect with a man who doesn’t seem to know she exists…

Ivan feels at home in the lab, not in social situations. When he finally approaches his attractive neighbor, it’s not for a date—he wants tutoring in how to behave at an important fundraiser. Ivan doesn’t expect the chemistry between them to be quite so explosive, and is surprised when Cami actually accepts his proposal to embark on a series of “lessons.”

Cami soon discovers Ivan’s schedule isn’t the only thing he likes to be strict about—he needs to be charge in the bedroom as well. She’s shocked at how much she comes to enjoy her submissive side, but wonders if a real relationship is in the equation…

  • Lady Beresford’s Lover

Lady Beresford’s Lover by Ella Quinn

Lady Beresford’s Lover by Ella Quinn is 99c! This is an historical romance with a friends-with-benefits plot where the heroine is always disguising her identity. Readers loved how sweet the hero was and from the descriptions, he definitely sounds like a beta hero. While others thought the book had too many sub-plots going on. It has a 3.9-star rating on Goodreads.

Ella Quinn’s bachelors are quite sure of what they want in life—and love—until the right woman opens their eyes…

After a painful heartbreak, Rupert, the handsome young Earl of Stanstead, has decided that when it comes to love, avoidance is best. Until he meets a woman who makes him forget his plan—and remember his longing for a wife and family. Yet he senses that she too has been hurt, though she attempts to hide her feelings—and more—in the most baffling and alluring way. Intrigued, Rupert is willing to play along, if winning her is the prize…

Crushed by her late husband’s scorn, Vivian, Countess of Beresford, believes she is monstrously undesirable. Sadly childless, she has moved to London resigned to a solitary life. Still, when she encounters Rupert at a masquerade ball, her disguise as Cleopatra emboldens her. Convinced he doesn’t recognize her, she begins an after-hours affair with him, always in costume—while allowing him to innocently court the real her by day. But when Rupert makes a shocking choice, will Vivian be able to handle the truth?…

  2. Jenny says:

I agree, The Theory of Attraction (and its sequels, The Principle of Desire and The Seduction Hypothesis) are great!

  3. kitkat9000 says:

Fourthing (?) the Theory of Attraction recommendation, it’s a great book- and the sequels were good too.

  4. Katie Lynn says:

Another recommendation for the Del Dryden books! They’re excellent, have a really positive spin on BDSM, and don’t take themselves too seriously.

  5. regencyfan93 says:

I haven’t read the rest of the series, but I’m in agreement about Theory of Attraction.

If you’d like, you can subscribe to the daily email feed of the site [http://bit.ly/SBTBfeed] which will email you the new entries around 12pm ET, usually with the books on sale at the top. 10. cleo says:

@Lori – thanks for the heads up. I love her PsyCop series but haven’t read a lot of her other stuff.

You reminded me to post this – Marie Sexton’s Between Sinners and Saints is $1.25 at her selz site if you use the code on her blog. BSAS is one of my favorite m/m romances. It’s not for everyone – it’s about a survivor of CSA and a former LDS still still struggling with his faith and his family but it’s really good.
