  • Blame It on Bath

Blame It on Bath by Caroline Linden

Blame It on Bath by Caroline Linden is $3.99! This is a historical romance with a bit of a marriage of convenience trope. While readers seemed to love the chemistry between the hero and heroine of the book, they wished that more of the book went toward solving the mystery of the plot. It has a 3.8-star rating on Goodreads.

Gerard de Lacey is determined to find the man who tried to blackmail his late father, both to stop the blackmail and to discover—and dispose of—any evidence the villain has about his father’s clandestine first marriage. If that proof is made public, it could prove Gerard and his brothers illegitimate, and strip them of their inheritance. And just in case, Gerard intends to find himself a wealthy bride. One way or another, he’s not going to be left destitute. But he’s not expecting a rich widow to find him and ask him to marry her.

Katherine Howe’s first marriage was one of dreary duty, arranged by her wealthy father to a penniless lord. Now that she’s being pressured to marry her late husband’s heir, she’s desperately in search of a better option. Gerard de Lacey, with his sinful good looks, charming manner, and looming scandal fits her needs perfectly. The fact that she’s nursed a secret affection for him for years only makes it better—and worse. Because Gerard will marry her, for her fortune—but will he love her for herself, as she loves him?

  • Lyon’s Bride

    Lyon’s Bride by Cathy Maxwell

Lyon’s Bride by Cathy Maxwell is $1.99 at most vendors! This is a historical romance with a teeny touch of fantasy thrown in as the hero believes to be cursed. He can’t fall in love. The heroine, a longtime friend, offers to play matchmaker, despite their very obvious feelings for one another. Some readers wished there was more action to the plot, while others loved the second chance romance between the hero and heroine. You can also pick up all three books in The Chattan Curse series for less than $7!

“When a Chattan male falls in love, strike his heart with fire from above…”

They call him Lord Lyon, proud, determined— and cursed. He is in need of a bride, but if he falls in love, he dies. His fervent hope is that by marrying— and having a son—without love, perhaps he can break the curse’s chains forever.

Enter beautiful Thea Martin—a duke’s headstrong, errant daughter and society’s most brilliant matchmaker. Years ago, she and Lyon were inseparable, until he disappeared from her life without a word. Now she is charged with finding Lyon’s bride—a woman he cannot love for a man Thea could love too well.

  • A Dangerous Love

A Dangerous Love by Sabrina Jeffries

A Dangerous Love by Sabrina Jeffries is $2.49 at some vendors and $2.99 at others! There is also peek-a-boo man nipple on the cover, so try not to stare at it! This is book one in the Swanlea Spinsters series and features a hero disguising his identity. Several readers weren’t a fan of the hero and found him to be a big jerk. However, others loved the dialogue, especially when the hero and heroine quote Shakespeare to one another.

Griffith Knighton has found the perfect way to avoid being trapped into marriage with one of the Earl of Swanlea’s daughters: he’ll swap identities with his man of affairs during their visit to Swan Park, and then he’ll be free to search for the hidden document that will prove his legitimacy. After all, Griff is not about to marry some homely spinster just to fulfill a bargain for what is rightfully his. But he didn’t reckon on the brazen voluptuous Rosalind, who could tempt even a saint into sinning—and God knows Griff is no saint.

Rosalind balks at the plan to marry her off to her father’s wealthy heir—and his man of affairs is even more intolerable! The arrogant oaf is clearly up to something with all his sneaking about Swan Park, but she can’t deny the heat when they’re together. He’s a bit dangerous and a lot mysterious. Dare she risk her heart on a man whose secrets could destroy her love?

  • Once Upon a Wedding Night

Once Upon a Wedding Night by Sophie Jordan

Once Upon a Wedding Night by Sophie Jordan is $2.99! This is the first book in The Derrings historical romance series and some of the other books are also on sale! Readers have mentioned that the ending is a little abrupt, while others loved the secondary characters and sexual tension. Have you read this one?

    An Innocent Deception…

Lady Meredith Brookshire has every right to Oak Run. Now that she’s suddenly husband-less and penniless, where else would she, her addled father, and spinster aunt reside? Yet who should appear but Nicholas Caulfield, the new Brookshire heir, claiming the estate is rightfully his by law. The brute is as arrogant as he is handsome-besides, he’s supposed to be dead. And the only plan resourceful Meredith can devise to save her family from homelessness is a desperate scheme that may lead her to salvation or ruin…and the bed of the man she has vowed to hate.

A reluctant aristocrat, Nick does not trust this fiery, infuriating chit whom he suspects of subterfuge-yet who bewitches him with her innocent green eyes. The sooner he can get this tempting beauty married off to some stodgy old blueblood-and off his hands for good-the better. There is one slight problem, however:

Nick can’t bear the thought of her wedding any man but him.

I enjoyed Blame It on Bath and would have no trouble recommending it.

  3. Jill-Marie says:

How would the heroine be able to hold up all that fabric of the dress on the cover of “Once Upon a Wedding Night”?!?! No wonder she’s collapsed in a dead faint.
