Giveaway: Activité Steel and Activité Pop Fitness Tracking Watches!

Withings Activite Pop tracking device in Coral Susie Felber, who is also known in the Romance universe as “Edith Layton’s daughter,” has a cool new job with a French company, Withings, which makes connected health and fitness devices. She reached out to me to see if I’d be willing to host a giveaway of two of their Activité fitness trackers – a gift for Valentine’s Day that’s the opposite of chocolate, as she put it.

Mais oui, s’il vous plait!

I know that many of you probably set up some personal fitness resolutions for this year. Since taking care of yourself and making sure you feel healthy and happy is very important, I think this would be a great boost to any of your fitness goals. I rarely talk about fitness because, well, I have been on the receiving end of long monologues about workout routines and I don’t want to inflict that on anyone! But I got serious about my health a few years ago, hired a personal trainer (whom I miss a LOT now that I’ve moved), and started working out almost daily. Since then, I have learned that, to quote Peter Drucker, “What gets measured gets managed.” In other words, if I’m paying attention to what I do, what I eat, what I lift, and when I do all of the above, I see the progress I want. Trackers like these can help a lot with all that measurement and monitoring.

Thanks to Susie, we have two to give away! AND a coupon. Thanks, ma’am!

There’s the Activité Steel, which will come with two bands in raspberry and white:

Activite Steel white face analog watch with a small dial that tracks activity goal

And the Activité Pop, in limited edition Coral Pink:

Activite pop in coral with coral pink band

What’s it do? It tracks steps, swimming, running and sleep, and syncs to their Health Mate app, available for iOS or Android. In the app, thanks to the tracker, you’ll see distance traveled, calories burned, activity, sleep data, and all that fun stuff. Health Mate also syncs to other apps you might already use, like My Fitness Pal.

On the device itself, you’ll see the time, because it’s a watch. Plus there is a small dial that tells you how much of your daily activity goal you’ve achieved.

The Activité does not need charging, either. It runs on a standard watch battery (aka one of those little silver button cell batteries) and one battery should last up to 8 months.

The Activité Steel retails for $199, and the Pop in coral retails for $149.

Plus, we have a coupon should you wish to check out the other products at Withings.com! With coupon code WITHSBTB you’ll get 20% off your purchase. They make Wi-Fi scales, a home camera, and other health tracking devices as well.

Susie also sent me an Activité Steel to try out, which I’m terribly excited about. I’d been trying to decide which fitness tracker to buy, and having one that is a watch and a monitor is very cool. If anyone would like a review, I’m happy to write one up after I’ve used it for awhile.

Standard disclaimers apply. Void where prohibited. Open to US residents only (sorry sorry!). Must be over 18 and prepared to work it out in order to win. There is a correct way to tie your shoes, but really, whichever way you do it so you don’t trip is good. Measure twice, cut once. If you drop the beat, please clean up after yourself. Objects in mirror may be closer than they appear. Anyone who allows party rock to enter the house tonight will answer to management. Do not remove internet under penalty of law. Two winners will be selected to each win one of the two watches by random integer from the comments at or close to noon ET on Sunday 14 February 2016. Winners will be announced that day.

Want to enter? Yay! I hope so.

Just leave a comment and tell me what you do – or would like to do – to help keep yourself healthy. Health means different things for different people, and figuring out what helps you personally is, I think, very important.

Good luck!

ETA 12/14/16: Congratulations and hooray, we have winners!

The winner of the Activité Steel is Kristen, and the winner of the Activité Pop is Brandy

Congratulations to the winners, and thank you to everyone who entered! I wish you all success on your fitness goals – you can totally do it.

In a digital age, I’m still a watch girl. Feel naked without it. These fitness watches are CUTE. Puppy trainer has advised us to double the walks to burn off energy – bonus is the extra steps for me. That raw berry band has my name on it! If I don’t win, my birthday is coming up.

  2. Katie D. says:

I’m starting back with the elliptical, and I’m trying to be more mindful about the food I’m eating 🙂

  3. Jess Banks says:

I’ve got fibro, Asperger’s, and depression/anxiety, so as much as I’d like to keep track of the physical activity I do manage to get in a day, I think it would have an even greater impact on being able to track my sleep patterns so I know what works and what hurts. Bad sleep –> more pain –> more depression ad nauseum. Not your typical answer, but that’s why I’d love to have one of those watches (plus they match my pink hair!).

  4. Fuyu says:

To be healthy I try to go on a walk every day. If the weather is bad I try to do a walking workout video. I also make sure to drink lots of water.

  5. Nita Vyas says:

I’ve been doing yoga three times a week. And getting more sleep.

  6. I do 1/2 hour on an elliptical machine and 1/2 hour on a bike two days a week (when I can!) and Pilates or yoga once a week. I also walk and take the stairs instead of the elevator whenver I can. A tracker would boost that, I’m sure!

  7. Pamala says:

Oh my goodness, as much as I want to win, I think if I were choosing I’d probably give it to Jessie. I’m hypothyroid (Hashimoto’s) and it’s effing my shit up. No metabolism to speak of after a lifetime of losing 5 pounds if I missed a meal. Not anymore. The weight has moved in and it’s not leaving without a housing attorney present. And the fatigue and dry skin and crazy hair..

Anyway, I too, have a birthday coming up and if I don’t win that coupon might get put to very good use. Happy Early Valentines Day ladies and gents of the Bitchery! <3

  8. Liviania says:

Lately I’ve been using the stationary cycle for 30 minutes a day.

  9. Meg B says:

I am training for a half marathon. I used a Jawbone for a while, but it kept breaking on me and I got sick of sending it back, waiting for a new one, etc. This watch looks lovely!

  10. Jean says:

These are the most fashionable fitness trackers I’ve seen!

What I’m doing right now to keep myself healthy is tracking my daily caloric intake on MyFitnessPal, doing a 5K program through Runkeeper, and knitting for meditation. I’d like to take up lifting weights again. I feel so bad ass when I lift heavy!

  11. Cheryl Carlton says:

I track what I eat, even if it’s “bad” or runs my total calories over my daily goal. I am accountable to myself but am not hard on myself if I DO go over. I drink more water and walk.

  12. Olivia says:

I try to walk outside everyday. Fresh air is good for you.

  13. Jill-Marie says:

I have horses and dogs. 🙂 Between riding and showing, mucking, feeding, grooming, walking and showing the dogs, running Agility courses with them, nurturing my garden and occasionally thinking about my husband and cleaning house … I’m good!

  14. Helen W. says:

I had been working out four times a week, but over the holidays that somehow dropped to… Zero times a week. I’m going to pick that back up again.

  15. Miriam Matheny says:

I make sure our family eats balanced meals and I get exercise by chasing around a 17 month old

  16. Tahnir says:

I have been keeping a close eye on my calorie intake. And so far I’m happy with my weight loss progress.

  17. Lou ann smith says:

Drink water and try to count steps, would like something nice to keep track with

  18. KB says:

I work out in the mornings before my kids get up. This happens more sporadically than I would like, but at least two or three times a week. And we just adopted a new dog, who is awesome and very active, so walking with him is helping me get exercise even on days when I would normally stay inside on the couch! I often say that I work out because I am unwilling to give up wine and snacks, but if I cut back a little on those, I’d probably be even healthier.

  19. Jenna O says:

I´m trying to be more sporty!

  20. Pamela Thomas says:

I get to my Crossfit class 3/4x a week, reduce unnecessary calories, and drink mots of water. I try to pick a weekend activity that involves exercise such as a hike or walk in the park.

  21. Tracy says:

My fitbit just died after too many rounds in the laundry so this would be awesome to win. I walk on my treadmill in the morning and then walk at lunch with a co-worker. I also drink plenty of water to keep hydrated and get plenty of sleep.

  22. Rhonda says:

I drink lots of water, walk almost everywhere and take the stairs whenever I can.

  23. I currently own a pop, but this would be great for my wife who just started working out herself.

  24. I currently owned a pop myself, but this would be great for my wife who just stared working out herself.

  25. Stephanie C says:

Honestly I am starting with making sure I take my meds and keep up with the doctor’s orders. Start small…

  26. Nicole K says:

I want to monitor my sleep habits to get on a healthier schedule so that I can be more productive and make more time to work out. I’m trying to go to yoga and eat less sugar.

  27. Michelle says:

This year I am eliminating DIET Coke and other carbonated beverages from my diet

  28. Christina says:

To keep myself healthy I am enrolled in a Health/Nutrition/Fitness course at my college which is great because it is keeping me more cognizant of my habits and behaviors. I’m walking to work, taking yoga, and using myfitnesspal to help track my diet and activity.

  29. deanna says:

I have been drinking more water to be healthier this year. It feels great.

  30. Marion says:

I Will do a lot of Fitness and a bit of running, and eat really healthy

  31. Rita A says:

    I like to take walks

  32. Tammy L Schramm says:

Walk, walk, and walk some more! Then come summer when the pool opens swim, swim, swim! And with a partner, there are even more options! 😉

  33. JanD says:

I mostly lift weights and an occasional cardio day to keep fit.
