Paranormal Romances with Shifters, Witches, & More!

  • The Mane Event

The Mane Event by Shelly Laurenston

RECOMMENDED: The Mane Event by Shelly Laurenston is $1.99 at most vendors. This is book 1 in her Pride series, and is a terrific, campy blend of ferocious women, shape shifters, alpha males, and paranormal fun. This book is also two stories in one. Sarah really likes Laurenston’s voice, and find her shifter stories to be a great time when she reads them. They’re very sexy, with a lot of naked time, and a silly sense of humor. Plus some badass heroines!

Mace Llewellyn. Brendon Shaw. Two tall, gorgeous, sexy alpha heroes who are 100% male―with a little something extra. Lion-shifters, to be exact, who can unleash every woman’s animal side and still look good―make that spectacular―in a suit… and even better out of it…

NYPD cop Desiree “Dez” MacDermot knows she’s changed a lot since she palled around with her childhood buddy, Mace. But it’s fair to say that Mace has changed even more. It isn’t just those too-sexy gold eyes, or the six-four, built-like-a-Navy Seal body. It’s something in the way he sniffs her neck and purrs, making her entire body tingle…

Meanwhile, for Tennessean Ronnie Lee Reed, New York City is the place where any girl―even one who runs with a Pack―can redefine herself. First order of business: find a mate, settle down, and stop using men for sex. Even big, gorgeous, lion shifter men like Brendon Shaw. But she needn’t worry, because now that Brendon’s set his sights on her, the predator in him is ready to pounce and never let go…

  • Wicked Ride

    Wicked Ride by Rebecca Zanetti

Wicked Ride by Rebecca Zanetti is $1.99! This is a paranormal romance with a cop heroine and an immortal Irish biker hero. I know we’ve debated about motorcycle clubs in the past and the book’s description makes mention that this particular MC is up to some pretty rough stuff, regardless of the hero’s involvement. However, many readers loved the chemistry between the very much alpha hero and the heroine. Sound interesting to anyone?

Alexandra Monzelle is a hard-fighting, heat-packing Seattle vice cop, and she’s not much interested in being protected. Her short skirt and sex-kitten heels are tools to lure her suspects into talking about the deadly new drug hitting the streets. She can take care of herself and then some. Unfortunately, she can’t seem to get that through to Kellach Dunne.

Kellach is a fresh import from Dublin, and he’s landed at the heart of a vicious motorcycle club that deals in guns, narcotics, and mayhem. He’s all male, all rough power—and all interference in her damn investigation. Maybe he’s one of the good guys. Maybe not. Lex knows an affair with an immortal like him would risk everything. No matter how delicious he looks…

  • Born in Blood

Born in Blood by Alexandra Ivy

Born in Blood by Alexandra Ivy is $1.99! This is the first book in her Sentinels series and features a cop hero. In the series, supernatural beings also exist in the world, though many try to live on a protected compound in the Midwest called Valhalla. Some readers felt sex between the hero and heroine happened way too quickly, while others enjoyed a paranormal romance without the usual werewolves and vampires. It has a 3.8-star rating on Goodreads.

In a stunning new paranormal romance series—even edgier than her bestselling Guardians of Eternity books—New York Times bestselling author Alexandra Ivy lures readers into the dark, seductive world of the Sentinels—humans outcast by their hidden abilities, treading the line between life and death, good and evil, pleasure and pain…

    Born In Blood

Sergeant Duncan O’Conner has seen it all before. A beautiful erotic dancer is found murdered in her home—no suspect, no motive. But there’s one clue: she’s missing her heart. It’s enough to make the hard-bitten Kansas City cop enlist the help of a necro—one of the dead-channeling freaks who live in the domed city of nearby Valhalla. It’s a long shot, but desperate crimes call for desperate measures.

Unlike the other “high-bloods” in Valhalla, Callie Brown considers her abilities a gift, not a curse. But when she reads the dancer’s final thoughts, she senses a powerful presence blocking her vision. This is no ordinary homicide. This is the work of a legendary necromancer who controls souls. A ravenous force that will put Callie’s skills to the test, O’Conner’s career at risk, and both their hearts on the line…literally

  • Succubus Blues

    Succubus Blues by Georgina Mead

Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead is $1.99! This is more urban fantasy in the early books than a romance. I actually prefer Mead’s Dark Swan series and had trouble getting into this one because it felt like nothing ever happened. But many people loved the butt-kicking succubus heroine who works in a bookstore and lusts after a sexy writer. Have you read it?

When it comes to jobs in hell, being a succubus seems pretty glamorous. A girl can be anything she wants, the wardrobe is killer, and mortal men will do anything just for a touch. Granted, they often pay with their souls, but why get technical?

But Seattle succubus Georgina Kincaid’s life is far less exotic. At least there’s her day job at a local bookstore–free books;all the white chocolate mochas she can drink;and easy access to bestselling, sexy writer, Seth Mortensen, aka He Whom She Would Give Anything to Touch but Can’t.

But dreaming about Seth will have to wait. Something wicked is at work in Seattle’s demon underground. And for once, all of her hot charms and drop-dead one-liners won’t help because Georgina’s about to discover there are some creatures out there that both heaven and hell want to deny. . .

I just finished rereading Laurenstan’s/Aiken’s work because I needed the happy. I love her characters and dialogue. The overall insanity and snark is fabulous.

I read Mead’s Succubus and Ivy’s Guardian series years ago and gave up on both of them. My interest waned to such an extent I didn’t read anything else by either of them and even to this day can’t be bothered.

I haven’t read the other and may check it out.

  2. Katie Lynn says:

LOVE Laurenston’s Pride series. They’re so fun, and really ridiculous in the best way (they know they’re ridiculous, but continue being so anyway). Usually they’re prohibitively expensive as ebooks, but I’ve slowly been purchasing them as I’ve seen them on sale, even though I’ve read all of them before!

  3. Texas Book Lover says:

I’ve read and love all of these except Alexandra Ivy’s. I love several of her other series and really need to give this one a shot.

  4. Susan says:

I found your comment about Dark Swan interesting. I own the Richelle Mead book, but I don’t know if I’ll ever read it–or buy/read anything else by her–because I hatehatehate what she did with the Dark Swan series. The trust is broken.

  5. NCK says:

The Pride books are my feel-good books; I love them so much.

  6. @Amanda says:

@Susan: I wasn’t too happy with how the series ended, but the first two books had me so wrapped up that I’ll always have a special place on my shelves for them.
