You did it! We figured this one out! It is a truth universally acknowledged (by me for certain) that the Bitchery pretty much knows everything, and really, it's true. Scroll down to see the solution for this HaBO - and many thanks!

Welcome to Tuesday, better known here as HaBO Day! HaBO, or “Help a Bitch Out,” is our attempt to reunite readers with romances that they can remember parts of, but not the important parts like the author’s name or the title. This HaBO is from Kimberly, who wants to find two books from a series:
I am looking for an African American romance; actually it was a two book series.
The first book was about a New York writer who was hired to write/cowrite the autobiography for the matriarch of a powerful family. The family has a secret. The oldest grandson (he is involved in the secret) doesn’t want the book written or something. He has a little brother through a Big Brothers Big Sisters type program who is a foster kid. The oldest grandson was also mostly raised by the butler. The writer and head of the family company fall in love, of course.
Second book: two old friends. The cousin of the head of the company and his teacher best friend. She has been keeping a secret from him for 15 years.
The second book sounds like it could have a secret baby going on. Do these characters sound familiar to anyone?

The first one sounds like “Yours Forever” by Farrah Rochon.
Okay, FictionDB offers up this one (there are a surprising number of “writing a biography” plots out there–who knew?):
A LOVER’S DREAM by Altonya Washington
Author Michaela Sellars has a successful writing career, but love and security have always eluded her…until a research trip takes a surprisingly romantic turn. Quest Ramsey and his brother Quaysar belong to one of Seattle’s most successful families, and Michaela is in town to profile them for an upcoming biography. Falling in love with gorgeous, confident Quest — and having him fall for her in return — is the ultimate dream come true
Quest is reluctant to be featured in Michaela’s tell-all book, but something about this beautiful woman has captured his attention and keeps him coming back. With little reservation, he lets her into his life and his heart. But when Michaela uncovers a secret that threatens to ruin his family name, she’ll have to choose between the integrity of her profession, and the love she never thought she’d find.

I can’t help but think of Iron Lace and Rising Tides by Emilie Richards from 1996/97. The writer in the first book is a male African American reporter, so it doesn’t quite fit. I have a well-read copy of Iron Lace falling apart on my keeper shelves.
@Manda ‘Quaysar’?! THAT’S certainly one I’ve never heard before. Were their parents super into space or something?
Ann Christopher’s : Tender Secrects – Andrew & Viveca and Road to Seduction– Eric & Lizzy
you guys are amazing. PamL, that is the book. Thank you so much. I am rereading them right now.
