Giveaway: Treat Yo Shelf with Carina Press

Giveaway! Woohoo! After noticing the collective happy reading over here in SBTB HQ with recent mentions of Crazed by Edie Harris, and A Duchess in Name by Amanda Weaver, Carina asked if we’d like to give three of you the opportunity to Treat Yo Shelf.

No, seriously, they even made a graphic – how sweet is that?

  1. Bridget says:

Lindt dark chocolate. (70% cocoa, anything less is basically milk chocolate so why bother?!?) And tea of course.

  2. Monica says:

Ice Tea in warm weather, hot tea in cooler weather. With the little Stevia and lemon.

  3. Louise H. says:

I read pretty much whenever I get the chance so I don’t have a set treat for reading. And it would vary based on what I’m reading. Historicals? I’m probably going to crave a cup of tea and, although I never make them anymore, scones sound so good right now. Contemporaries? Starbucks. And something salty and crunchy.

  4. DonnaMarie says:

They finally opened a Garrett’s in the ‘burbs so now that I never have to walk out of O’Hare and swear while smacking myself in the head because I forgot AGAIN!, I would have a small bowl (cause it’s way to easy to eat till your sick if you sit with the bag next to you) of CaramelCrisp with Pecans and some hard cider which go surprisingly well together.

  5. Katie Lane says:

    Peace and quiet!!

  6. Joie Davis says:

A cinnamon dolce latte with a giant tin of butter cookies are the perfect snacks when I read.

  7. Lovie says:

Dark chocolate hazelnut toffee, ginger snaps, lorna doones, or a gigantic peppermint mocha with all the whipped cream and candies. Or my Nana’s pound cake!

  8. Stephanie says:

Tea with an excessive amount of milk and a chocolate chip cookie.

  9. JessiG says:

Favorite romance treat? A large-ish glass of white wine.

  10. Kat T. says:

Add some Jack Daniels’ Tennesse Honey whiskey to my Constant Comment tea–over ice, of course… 😉 Gives it a little kick and a perfect touch of sweetness to relax and unwind!

  11. MissyLaLa says:

Chocolate Hazelnut tea by Stash. Yummy.

  12. Elena says:

    Ice cream or frozen yogurt.

  13. Memory says:

Popcorn! I love to pop up a bowl to munch on while I read.

  14. Katie Lynn says:

I’m a big fan of the carina imprint, so winning this would be like Christmas all over again. I would probably eat my normal snacky food of dark chocolate peanut m&ms, which I discovered earlier last year and find immensely satisfying. (and easier to get than TJ’s dark chocolate caramel squares)

  15. shiny says:

Coffee and cake with a book early Saturday morning is the best 🙂

  16. Nikki H says:

I love Dr. Pepper and Coke, and they’re both better with ranch oyster crackers. Those crackers are addicting!

  17. JaneDrew says:

Cats (always cats), chai, and chocolate!

  18. Janiec says:

    Coke or juice with chips.

  19. Jenn says:

A nice cup of peppermint tea, and a warm blanket. 🙂

  20. I think it goes without saying that when I read, my lap is occupied by two cats Apparently my right thigh is preferable to my left.

During the daylight hours, my reading is accompanied by a six cup Brown Betty teapot full of Double Bergamot Earl Grey. The evening hours see me imbibing a glass or two of Cabernet Sauvignon.

  21. ReneeG says:

I love to drink tea (either hot or cold, black or green) and dark chocolate candied ginger. Yum. Although, I have been know to skip dinner so I can keep reading (the joys of living by yourself!).

  22. Janine says:

    Blondies. White chocolate blondies…

  23. Cindy says:

If I’m curling up with a good book, I’d love to have to have English Breakfast tea and a glazed berry scone. I have an awesome new scone recipe.

  24. Wendy Clements says:

Tea–Earl Grey Double Bergamot, with vanilla creamer. And I love scones, too. They are just scrumptious!

  25. Mary Star says:

Oooo, I am ready ready *ready* to read! I’ve just discovered these vegetarian cola flavored tummies that I am all about, so they will be my accompanying treat of choice. Thanks for the giveaway!

  26. Mary Star says:

Gah, *gummies! I am not a vegetarian devourer of tummies.

  27. Karen H near Tampa says:

Given how cold it is here (and I apologize in advance to those of you who really live in cold climates, but I am cold anyway), I’d have a cup of good hot strong coffee or tea. If it’s coffee, a biscotti is a nice addition and if it’s tea, I’d like a shortbread cookie.

  28. jw says:

My best friend and I keep in touch by talking romance novels. I guess we don’t really fit the demo so people are surprised since we’re both college students and asian-american. But one thing I’ve realized from reading romance is that a lot of young women privately read it, or are interested by afraid of the stigma. It’s a huge shame and now I’m bumming myself out. Please feel free to shake your fist at the patriarchy.

I like to joke that my favorite treat is salt, because I choose to be salty about everything. But actually I really enjoy fruit and sweet breads.

  29. Critterbee says:

This freezing winter, I will take a cup of hot cocoa and a warm blanket!

  30. Melonie says:

Love the idea of “Treat Yo Shelf” 🙂

Coffee. Dark and strong and plenty of it. And if I wanted to really indulge, cheesecake smothered in caramel and chocolate.

  31. WOO CARINA! (Exempting myself from this giveaway on the grounds of being a Carina author, but I will go tweet and Facebook the hell out of it. 😀 )

  32. SandyPo says:

When I read at night in bed I usually have a dark chocolate/mint chip Klondike bar and maybe some other dark chocolate as well. Yum!

  33. Regina says:

I’ll take some Costa Rican coffee and a couple of hazelnut/chocolate Piroulines. Even if I don’t win, ha!

  34. Carrie T says:

Sweet craison soda bread, hot tea, the dog, a quilt, and some blessed solitude!

  35. Texas Book Lover says:

My favorite sweet snack is dark chocolate…especially Reasons. They are do look good!

  36. Marci says:

Red wine to drink. Or maybe hot chocolate since it’s currently below zero where I live. And for a sweet treat I’m addicted to Twizzlers Sweet & Sour candy and can eat a whole package in one setting. And I just discovered salted caramel brownie brittle which makes me very happy.

  37. AmyMac says:

A nice chocolate porter and some homemade rosemary-sourdough waffles!

  38. LauraL says:

Chock Full O Nuts coffee and whatever tea bread or cookie is in the house or Peanut M&Ms.

  39. Brandy says:

I’m all about the hot beverage. Lately, my choice is usually tea from Harney & Sons, either Vanilla Comoro or Paris.

  40. Jen says:

Since most of my reading is done after FINALLY putting the kids to bed, getting all the things done that must be done before bedtime, and while at the point of pure exhaustion, I’m usually lying down in my bed and therefore without any edible treats.

But, hmmm, just realized that although the examples were things like tea and coffee, it appears the definition of “treat” was left a bit more open ended. So let’s just say my husband and we’ll leave it at that.
