  1. Julia says:

Strong, black tea with milk and sugar. A good podcast or audiobook. Crocheting a project that does not require counting.

  2. Kay says:

My favorite relaxing combo is a little odd: decaf tea, ebook up on the laptop, and my treadmill desk. There’s just something really soothing about slowly walking and having a cuppa in the warm comfort of my own home.

  3. Athena says:

Waking up two hours early for coffee, breakfast and my e-reader.

  4. Ninja Penguin says:

A book, some favorite old cd on repeat, and chocolate. Oh, and a fuzzy blanket or hot bath. I need to be warm to relax.

  5. Nettle says:

Tea, my kindle, and my dog sleeping on my feet.

  6. Robin Greene says:

I love listening to audiobooks and walking.

  7. DeeCee says:

Music on the stereo, a new book, a warm comfy blanket (right now it’s the new thick chenille one I got at World Market…wow!), and my animals to keep my company.

  8. Lostshadows says:

Solitude, a CD playing, a thermos of tea and a mug, a comfy chair* and an ottoman to park my feet on, and an engrossing book.

*Not combined with guys in red uniforms poking me with soft cushions.

  9. KaylaRosé says:

Knitting and watching Gilmore girls or reading with a big mug of Lady Grey tea. I haven’t quite mastered knitting and reading at the same time but I can’t wait!

  10. Kareni says:

My favorite relaxation combination is a good book, delicious chocolate, and some pleasant music in the back ground. Ahhh ….

  11. Darlynne says:

Milk and cookies, I can’t help it, old school comfort food. Plus a pile of books to choose from. And a couch.

  12. amy l. says:

A night of knitting and HGTV is my go to for relaxing.

  13. Katelyn says:

I love a warm flaxseed neck pillow, a great book and a lit fire, and a snoring dog on the couch next to me!

  14. Pilar says:

A cup of tea, rain on a metal roof, and a good book. No one else need be present. Dog snuggles for extra bonus points.

  15. Mad Madam M says:

My favorite relaxing combo is a bath (with camomile Epsom salts) with a new book to read, an Ella Fitzgerald playlist playing, and a glass of wine.

I’m feeling more relaxed already. 🙂

  16. Ingrid says:

Knitting somehow only works in autumn and winter! If I truly want to relax, it can’t be a complicated pattern (that won’t let my brain switch off). Reading has always worked, even before I could make sense of the letters. (My parents punished me for staying awake past my bedtime ‘reading’ when I was 3 by taking away my books for over a week. They are still not forgiven.) Beverage depends on time of day. Early morning: coffee or go home. Later: Twining’s Lady Grey. Even later (and obviously not every evening): excellent wine. Husband is allowed to be around. Nobody else. It’s my ivory tower damn it.

  17. Teresa C says:

Knitting and reading, either auidio or e-book.

  18. blodeuedd says:

If my mind wants it then quiet, mint tea and a movie that does not make me think. If my body wants relaxing then a shakti mat

  19. Jessica says:

The main thing is to be alone, haha. Some sound, a hot drink, a good book, a blanket… Sounds great. 🙂

  20. Malin says:

When I got concussed earlier in October, the only thing that got me through the boredom was audiobooks and knitting. I also love an entertaining romance and some good music on my Ipod. Maybe a mug of hot chocolate.

  21. Mine is a bit weird, but one of my favorite things to do is cook. Not the ordinary, every day cooking, like frying up some chicken, but the big type of cooking for holidays. I don’t know when I was happier then the two days I cooked for Thanksgiving. I made lasagna, homemade mozzarella sticks, and chocolate cream pie. Whenever I cook, I listen to music, which in my world means singing and dancing until I start laughing like a lunatic. Most of the time, I find cooking to be a bit of a chore, but when it is a special meal, something flips a switch inside of me and I’m happy as two really well fed clams. Oddly, this relaxes me and I’m able to just breath. (In short, cooking big meals, music, singing, and dancing.)

The other combination is ice cream, old musicals on DVD, scented candles, and my ducky pajama pants. The best movie for this is Singin’ in the Rain. It is such a bubbly movie. Plus, Gene Kelly. He was one gorgeous man. Yum. (My favorite musical is The Sound of Music, but it is not a bubbly, fun movie.) If I don’t feel like a movie, I’ll go for a binge of one of four tv shows: Chuck, Buffy, Eureka, or Hart of Dixie (yes, one of these is not like the others).

  22. Maire says:

I’m on a mitten-knitting kick right now. I must knit ALL the mittens!
We just overhauled my tiny little office (cave?) in the basement, so I can generally be found camped out in there with a mitten-in-progress, either a streaming video or a book, and a huge mug of tea. Sometimes I snag a few minutes for a bit of Sims 4 gameplay. 🙂

  23. Ashley Morris says:

A nice large cup of tea (some sort of chai, with milk and sugar) and baking. And let me tell you, having baking as a coping mechanism for stress makes you the most popular girl on campus during finals week when you begin prowling the halls of the library trying to foist off the ridiculous amount of baked goods you’ve created in your kitchen onto hungry and stressed college students. I have received many declarations of love on those trips, lol.

  24. Avital Ordan says:

    Crochet and a good podcast

  25. shiny says:

crocheting while watching tv or just in bed with a book, curled up under a blanket.

  26. Kat T. says:

    massage and music

  27. Konst. says:

Cooking while listening to an audiobook. Recent combination involved hearty winter chicken broth and Umberto Ecco’s “The Prague Cementary” – great food descriptions btw 🙂

  28. Sally says:

I like a warm room and sitting on the sofa reading. I can’t wait for Spring to come! I’m unproductive when it’s cold.

  29. Kathleen says:

My favourite way to relax is a good book and a cold (hard of course!) apple cider 🙂

  30. Francesca says:

I make jewellery with a video or audio book in the background. My husband and I build Lego together. We’ve done the Millenium Falcon, the Simpsons’ house and the Avengers’ hover carrier. My drink of choice is either ginger tea or grapefruit juice.

  31. Em says:

Tea and books or knitting and telly for me!

  32. Jaye says:

Caramel macchiato, chocolate covered caramels, & painting (just writing this gave me a sense of calm and happiness!)

  33. Casplet says:

Relaxing at the coffee shop with a latte or hot chocolate and knitting while talking to my husband and the barista.

  34. Jennifer says:

A good audiobook and cross stitch and something chocolate, preferably ice cream

  35. Carmen Cruz says:

Hot, sweet Spiced Chai…an interesting pattern to copy to crochet (because I just can’t handle two needles at once)…a book in any way I can get my hands on: audio, text-to-speech kindle, YouTube or (best of all) being read to me by a yummy piece of man-candy with a rumbling baritone voice. *sigh* Heaven

  36. camilla says:

    knitting and apple cider!

  37. Alyssa says:

Really good black tea with milk, a good book and soft music on my good headphones, is all I need fir hrs of I relaxation.

  38. Erin says:

An audiobook, knitting, and a cup of tea. Maybe a cookie or piece of chocolate.

  39. Rebe says:

My favorite way is a glass of wine, sweat pants (no yoga pants – I’m old school), and my kindle.
