oh wow great giveaway. Would have to be Kresley Cole. I had been debating reading her since some stranger at a Lori Foster’s get-together had recommended her and then something came through from here and I decided to buy the first book and I’ve been hooked ever since.

  2. Meg says:

I discovered Lord of Scoundrels through this site!

  3. Mistress of Pleasure by Delilah Marvelle

  4. Cassie says:

I discovered my very first romance ever here. I was thinking about trying one out and was googling around and wound up here looking at your reviews. I landed on Mr. Impossible by Loretta Chase, and the rest was history 🙂

  5. Sandra says:

    After Hours by Cara McKenna!

  6. Diane Mc. says:

What haven’t I discovered here? my TBR pile is huge and picking one is difficult.

  7. Susan says:

SO many books and authors (Morgan, Milan, Bujold) that I can’t even count. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve bought cover snark, book rant, HABO, daily deal, podcast, and review books. (And, yes, I totally bought Pregnesia during that big Harlequin sale, even though I have no idea when/if I’ll ever get around to reading it.)

But I have to give a very special shout out to Carrie S for her eclectic mix of reviews and commentaries. Such a great mix of classics, comics, cookbooks, design, movies and tv, and most especially the SF. Oh, and when I saw Horrorstor on sale recently, I snapped it up based on her review awhile back.

So thanks for ALL of the new discoveries and fun times.

  8. Carol says:

Thanks for the great book recs. My favorite has been Shannon Stacey Kowalski series! Happy Hanukkah!

  9. Tonya K says:

I discovered Kristen Ashley here, started with The Gamble. Love her!

  10. April says:

You all gave me the gift of Pennyroyal Green when What I Did for a Duke was a book club pick. It is still my favorite of the series.

  11. Samantha says:

The Spindle Cove series by Tessa Dare. Thank goodness for that!!

  12. Jai Rankin says:

I found “Bound with Passion” here … I love the idea that the heroine doesn’t have to choose either leg of the love triangle. My favorite book review of all time came from here as well. I wish I could remember the book title, but it was all about an inappropriate orgy with holiday coffee cups. While I wasn’t tempted to read the book, I did read the review out loud to other people, snickering the whole time. They were aghast, but I was highly amused, thanks to SBTB. So thanks for that.

  13. Sierra L. says:

Thanks to this site I have added many a book and author to my TBR pile. One most recent is Stephanie Tyler, which I am shocked I had never come across her before y’all brought her up and I am thankful for it.

  14. KaylaRosé says:

My favorites that came from this site: Wallflowers series, Psy-Changling series, anything by Eloisa James, and now the Leigh family Texas series by Lorraine Heath. This site makes me swoon!

  15. Kael says:

I discovered Kresley Cole thanks to this site, not sure if I’m grateful for that or not however (or at least my wallet isn’t grateful).

  16. twirlygirl says:

I wrote in looking for books about happy lawyers (as opposed to all those lawyers fleeing their soul sucking jobs and moving to a small town to become bakers) and Sarah recommended Julie James who is now my favorite romance author. I like to devour her books whole in a single sitting–thanks Sarah for the great recommendation!

  17. Anony Miss says:

Gabaldon and Courtney Milan. Wow. Thanks SBs!

  18. Jill says:

Kilts and Kraken! It’s still mt favorite of The Gaslight Chronicles and I wouldn’t have discovered it without the Pink Palace of Bitchery.

  19. Sandyl says:

I discovered two authors on this website: Sara Maclean and Tessa Dare.

  20. Naomi says:

Hmm. I don’t keep track of which books I find where (many here, most of the rest on Twitter), but I’m pretty sure this is where I heard about Katee Robert’s The Marriage Contract, which I really liked.

  21. Janiec says:

There’s not one book, but I discovered Karina Bliss here and enjoyed many of her books.

  22. BillieB says:

Laura Kinsale’s Flowers from the Storm, which re-introduced me to an author I loved and Susanna Kearsley’s The Winter Sea which introduced me to an author I now read faithfully and look forward to new books with great joy.

  23. Nancy C says:

A book I’ve read and LOVED, LOVED, LOVED is The Windflower by Laura London. It was recommended here and it lived up to all the hype.

  24. Rachel F. says:

I heard about Jennifer Crusie on this site, and really enjoyed both Bet Me and Fast Women.

  25. Nanda Cramer says:

Just finished reading Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie. Got interested in reading it after reading about it here – the dinner table scene when he hands her a roll to eat. Loved it. On the hunt for more Crusie. How did I miss her all these years???

  26. Lovie says:

The latest in a loooong list of books that I discovered here is The Far Traveler, Nancy Marie Brown. Love me some historical badass bitchery! Also Craving Flight.

  27. Amy Medeiros says:

You’ve introduced me to Midnight Action by Elle Kennedy and many authors including Tessa Dare, Jill Shalvis, Jodi Thomas and I know there’s even more.

  28. BJ says:

So many…. way too many 😉 Enough that I am glad for the library!

  29. Megan says:

I discovered Sarah Maclean and Theresa Romain through you, I’ve been hooked ever since. I get a lot of recommendations from the podcast.

    Happy Hanukkah!

  30. Tamera says:

The Game Plan by Kristen Callihan. Although, I had to go back and read them in order, ’cause I’m OCD like that! So,really, I got three great reads out of 1 review! Thanks!

  31. Lori says:

I discovered Courtney Milan’s The Duchess War from this site. It’s now one of my favorite books of all time! I have to say that I love how this site helps me find awesome romance books as well as other genres.

  32. excessivelyperky says:

HILD, by Nicola Griffith. This book walks on water, heals the sick and blind, and folds laundry. And in its spare time, works with the deaf.

Seriously, I am really glad that Griffith is working on a sequel, because when it ended, I shrieked, “Moar?” and decided to send Ms. Griffith a pizza a week till she gave in and wrote another volume here. Fortunately, I was saved that expense.

It was well researched, heart-rending and brain-expanding, and I adored the title character even when I wanted to smack her one.

“The light of the world”–yes. That’s Hild.

  33. Violet Bick says:

More books than I can count, but two stick out. I discovered “Tinker” by Wen Spencer through a reader comment. Elves in Pittsburgh — what’s not to love? And not on this site, but close — I found Julie James through the DABWAHA tournament.

  34. Becky M says:

So many books! First one that comes to mind that I know for sure I heard of from here first is The Rosie Project. Loved it!

    Happy Hanukah!

  35. NCK says:

Natural Law by Joey Hill, Flowers From the Storm by Laura Kinsale, and Unraveled by Courtney Milan are my top favorites that I’ve found via this site.

  36. SarahCW says:

I credit SBTB with introducing me to Nalini Singh. And, along with almost every other commenter here today, Lord of Scoundrels!

  37. Eva R. says:

So many books… ‘9 Rules to Break when Romancing a Rake’ is one favorite.

  38. Lara says:

I have read a LOT of books that were recommended here. But I can safely say that I would never have discovered Tiffany Reisz’s Original Sinners series were it not for the Bitchery’s review of The Siren. It took me a few chapters to get into it, but once I was done, I went out and *purchased* the other three books in the series, sight unread, because I didn’t want to stop reading about Nora and Soren and Wesley and Kingsley.

  39. DonnaMarie says:

Just ONE? I have found so many books I have loved because I come to this site every day. I’ll go with Wild Child by Molly O’Keefe. First, it was a WONDERFUL read and second it hooked me on a writer who has never failed to deliver an honest, emotional, romantic read. Thank you bitches, you never fail me.

  40. Amanda says:

I used to read almost exclusively historical romance, with the one exception of SEP. When I was looking to branch out more into contemporaries, I discovered Julie James from your DABWAHA awards and am so glad I did. Thanks for the rec and for everything you do, Smart Bitches! Happy Hanukkah!
