The Rogue Not Taken: An Early WORD Giveaway!

The Rogue Not Taken

You might have seen Elyse’s very joyful review of the upcoming Sarah MacLean novel, The Rogue Not Taken today:

Let me start by saying that The Rogue Not Taken by Sarah MacLean is my favorite book of hers to date. If you’ve read her, or know me, then you know that I just said a thing.

I mean, there is a scene in this book where the hero sensually rubs honey on the heroine’s body while she dreamily describes the bookstore she’ll own one day.

Damn.

Usually we run reviews on or after release date so that if you think to yourself, I want to read that NOW, you can go and buy it.

However, The Rogue Not Taken doesn’t come out until 29 December, which may have led you to think, WTF Bitches?! Did you not hear me?! I want to read that NOW!

Fear not! We have a giveaway – an Early WORD Giveaway, in fact!

I have five bound manuscript copies of The Rogue Not Taken by Sarah MacLean to give away. This is so early, it’s a bound manuscript, not a galley. Cool, huh? Five SUPER EARLY style books!

WORD BrooklynPLUS! I have a grand prize, in addition to one of the five bound manuscripts: A $75 gift card to WORD Brooklynwhich is MacLean’s local independent bookstore and an enthusiastic supporter of the romance genre – which as we all know can sometimes be a challenge to find in indie-bookstore-land. WORD will ship if you’re not in Brooklyn, so if you win, you can order your books and they’ll have them delivered to you.

In fact, WORD is also taking pre-orders for The Rogue Not Taken, so if you’re totally taken with the book after you read it (I know, you saw what I did there), you could potentially order a copy as a gift for someone who would be equally taken with it. (Ok, I’ll stop.)

So, want to enter? Sure! Just leave a comment below and tell us, if you would be gifting Rogues hither and yon, to whom would you send a Rogue? And if you have no recipients suitable for Rogue gifting, please feel free to tell us what book you’d buy for yourself!

Standard disclaimers apply:  void where prohibited. I’m not being compensated for this giveaway. Open to residents of US and Canada (sorry, y’all!) where permitted by applicable law. Must be over 18 and prepared to read and shop and read some more to win. Your mileage may vary. Objects in mirror are closer than they appear, especially if you are farsighted. Whereas, upon participation in the contest as aforesaid, said participant shall nonetheless deliver hereunto all such paraphernalia as reasonably necessary and appropriate. Winners will be chosen by random integer on Friday, 13 November, and announced same day. Thank you to Avon for the prizes!

Good luck!

The Rogue Not Taken would be all mine!

  3. Angelique Kohler says:

I have all of Sarah Maclean’s books so when I went to the National Book Festival I had to buy one and get it signed for my sister. This is mentioned just to show you what a good person I am because I would use the whole gift card on myself 😉

  4. Kate P. says:

I’d give one to my best bookish friend!!

  5. Michele says:

I know my sister would love a Rogue just in time for the holidays.

  6. Tori says:

I REALLY want to get When a Scot Ties the Knot (waiting for a sale, fingers crossed). I’d give a Rogue to my best friend. We live 3 hours apart now, and gchat almost everyday over issues, including our dire romantic straits 😉

  7. JessiG says:

I would send a copy to my cousin with whom I read my first romance and still talk about the genre today!

  8. Ashley Startin says:

I would gladly send a Rogue to one of my good friends who shares my love of snarky romance!

  9. Rin says:

I would give a copy to one of our library patrons who reads more romance than I do.

  10. Colleen P. says:

I would gift a copy to my bff because she loves romances as much as I do, and loves historicals even more than I do.

  11. Melisa says:

I’d give it to my best friend so she can appreciate the beauty of romance novels!

  12. Kathy says:

I would give a Rogue to my friend Laura, who shares my love of historical romance. But first I’d be a little bit selfish and keep him to myself for awhile.

  13. Carol says:

I’d share the MacLean (to which I’m avidly looking forward) with my friend Dana (who is my only romance-reading buddy). And I’d buy the new Robin D Owens Celta book in hard copy. I have a SERIOUS library space problem, and she is one of the very few I’ll buy in hard copy these days. But a manuscript MacLean would certainly find a loving and permanent home.

  14. Denise M says:

I would gift a rouge to my best friend whom I’ve been influencing to read more romance novels.

  15. Katie says:

I would send a rogue to my sister, who just had a baby and is also raising a toddler, and her husband is traveling for business. Poor sister.

  16. CateM says:

I would give a Rogue to my best friend from high school, in honor of our annual Christmas get together, during which we:

    a) catch up on everything that’s happened for six months
    b) Go to Powell’s City of Books
    c) curl up in front of a fire reading our respective books and reading the best/worst parts of each book outloud to each other.

  17. Karina Angeles says:

I would give a copy to my best friend, Laura. She has a “dirty birdie” mind just like me and love to compare books we’ve read.

  18. Kelly Kobiela says:

Can I not keep a Rogue for myself? Because I wouldn’t mind a rogue. Even if I kept a Rogue, I would also gift one to my friend Sarah, who is the person who got me started reading romance. She deserves a Rogue! And I would share the book with her because we are forever emailing each other to squee over great books we have both read!

  19. Allison says:

I’d gift a Rogue to my youngest cousin because she’s my book buddy and I know she’d appreciate a good rogue.

  20. Vulcanbookworm says:

I would gift it to my boyfriend. If the hero knows how to go down on a lady without expecting reciprocatiom, he could really learn a thing or two from this book.

  21. Christy says:

First to me, I love everything that comes from Sarah Maclean! Then, on to my romance friends for a good pass around. 🙂

  22. Susan D says:

I’d fly to New York just to spend my gift card (in my dreams….) but since I’m forced to order online, I’d play HaBO roulette & try something new.

  23. Tiffany says:

My best friend and I met as part of a cohort of incoming graduate students to a historical archaeology program. We are complete opposites, do not work on paper and she is as precious to me as my dear husband. She got me reading historical romance and romance in general, and she is the person I text saying “please buy tessa dare and courtney milan RIGHT NOW” so we can talk about it.

  24. Nicole says:

Me first! I’ve been dying to read her next.
But then would give to my fellow book bestie Beth, alas this isn’t her favorite genre to read, but I’m certain she would love it!

  25. Tanya says:

I’d share a copy with my friend Barbara who is a big fan of rogues, rakes and Smartbitches! We hope to meet you one day!

  26. Sarah S. says:

I just found out two of my old friends from middle school, named Sara and Sarah (not kidding, there were 3 of us. Drove the teachers nuts), also read romance. So I’d send them to the Sara(h)s

  27. Kay says:

I’d give a copy to my sister in law.

  28. flchen1 says:

I have a couple of reader friends I haven’t yet had the pleasure of meeting in person… I’m SURE they would appreciate a good rogue 😉

  29. Hai Sota says:

I would buy Loretta Chase’s Dukes Prefer Blondes.

  30. Jenn says:

I would gift Rogues all over the place! The first people I would give copies to though would be my mom, and my friend Samantha. This book sounds wonderful!!!

  31. Liviania says:

I’d send one to my best friend. She can keep a rogue in line!

After me, I have several friends who adore Sarah and her books! Patricia, Stephanie, and some more!

I would definitely gift Rogues to my mom and my best friend!

  35. I would give copies to my friends, Pooks and Janet, who are the only other women I personally know who aren’t ashamed to read romance.

Thank you so much for doing it this way. I simply hate rafflecopter.

  36. Heidi says:

Well, I just pre-ordered this Rogue for my own (because I always need finished physical copies of Sarah MacLean books!) But as far as gifting them… I’m converting one of the teachers I work with into a historical romance readers so I’d definitely get her one (or two or ten!)

Rogues for all of my sisters! Everyone could use a good rogue. 🙂

I would gift a Rogue to my dear friend to whom I introduced romance novels years ago; we both picked out the same one (Lord of the Nile by Constance O’Banyon)from a used book store so we could read and discuss in tandem.
