Starting today, we’re doing Books on Sale posts on Sunday too! Oftentimes, we hear about great sale prices on Friday and Saturday and by Monday, they’re gone. Sorry not sorry to your book budget!
Darling Beast

RECOMMENDED: Darling Beast by Elizabeth Hoyt is $1.99! This book seven in the Maiden Lane historical romance series, and hinted at a Beauty & the Beast theme. Elyse and Redheadgirl did a join review of the book and gave it an A-:
Elyse: For me it’s a solid B+. It was a good read, but lacked the Beauty and the Beast storyline I really wanted. Also Plot Moppets. And questionable choices on Apollo’s part.
Oh, there are great sex scenes though!
So…maybe A-?
RHG: The sex scenes were great. I’d agree with the A-.
A MAN CONDEMNED…

With the Crown’s soldiers at his heels, he finds refuge in the ruins of a pleasure garden, toiling as a simple gardener. But when a vivacious young woman moves in, he’s quickly driven to distraction…

But she and her tiny family aren’t the only inhabitants-a silent, hulking beast of a man also calls the charred ruins home. Yet when she catches him reading her plays, Lily realizes there’s more to this man than meets the eye.
OUT OF ASH, DESIRE FLARES
Though scorching passion draws them together, Apollo knows that Lily is keeping secrets. When his past catches up with him, he’s forced to make a choice: his love for Lily…or the explosive truth that will set him free.

Melting Ms. Frost by Kat Black is $1.99! This a contemporary erotic romance set in London with a workplace twist. Our heroine is a British restaurant owner and our hero is her new hire, an Irish bartender. I might buy this book for the Irish bartender alone. The plot was refreshing for most readers, given the setting and having the heroine in a position of power, though some found Ms. Frost to be a little too…frosty. This was originally published in the UK, so I’m wondering if any of our readers across the pond have picked this one up? The next book the in the series is a continuation and is also on sale!
How do you thaw the coldest of hearts? Find out in the sexiest romance to hit the shelves this year.
When Aidan Flynn walks into Cluny’s Restaurant, he can’t take his eyes off his new boss, Annabel Frost. With his heart set on winning her over, Aidan can think of nothing but getting beneath her cold exterior.
Known as one of the toughest women in the business, Annabel is impervious to Aidan’s many charms. His compelling grey gaze and persuasive Irish lilt do anything but anything but captivate her.

Unholy Ghosts by Stacia Kane is 99c! This is an urban fantasy that has been recommended by readers quite a few times! It was mentioned in the comments in a GS vs STA post about heroines who don’t want kids (which I know many people like to read).
Reader K Swan also had this to say:
I haven’t seen anyone recommend Stacia Kane’s Downside series. Her female “hero” Chess is a church witch junkie, whose dependence makes you want to smack her up side the head. But Kane’s world building, and Chess’s romance with Terrible is heart rending and pulls you into a strange, dark place. The Audible version is narrated by Bahni Turpin, whose throaty narration, and handling of the criminal street dialect is awesome.
THE DEPARTED HAVE ARRIVED.
The world is not the way it was. The dead have risen, and the living are under attack. The powerful Church of Real Truth, in charge since the government fell, has sworn to reimburse citizens being harassed by the deceased. Enter Chess Putnam, a fully tattooed witch and freewheeling ghost hunter. She’s got a real talent for banishing the wicked dead. But Chess is keeping a dark secret: She owes a lot of money to a murderous drug lord named Bump, who wants immediate payback in the form of a dangerous job that involves black magic, human sacrifice, a nefarious demonic creature, and enough wicked energy to wipe out a city of souls. Toss in lust for a rival gang leader and a dangerous attraction to Bump’s ruthless enforcer, and Chess begins to wonder if the rush is really worth it. Hell, yeah.

The Closer You Come by Gena Showalter is $1.99! This book marks Showalter’s return to contemporary romance and is the first book in the Original Heartbreakers series. It’s a small town romance with a Southern heroine and an ex-con hero. Some readers mentioned a slow start to this romance, but others loved the chemistry between the hero and heroine. It has a 3.8-star rating on Goodreads.
New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter introduces the Original Heartbreakers, where three not-quite-reformed bad boys are about to meet the women who will bring them to their knees.
Just released from prison, Jase Hollister has only one goal: stay out of trouble. Strawberry Valley, Oklahoma, sounds like the perfect place for him and his two brothers-by-circumstance to settle down and live a nice, simple life. Model citizen isn’t exactly this rugged bachelor’s default setting—especially when it comes to a certain hot-blooded Southern beauty—but he’s determined to play by the rules.
Brook Lynn Dillon has always been the responsible type. Not that it’s done her much good. The down-on-her-luck waitress is broke, single and wouldn’t know fun if it bit her. Or so she thinks. Jase makes bad look oh, so good. Dangerous, sexy and tempting as sin, he is everything she never knew she wanted. Passion sizzles between them, but is it enough to melt his resistance? After all, the right kind of trouble might be just what he needs…

Yay! Thanks for more sale postings. Of all the book blogs I read, I think Smart Bitches does the best book sale postings because you always add some kind of personal comment, link to a review, or Goodreads info. I really look forward to them, So more sale postings from you is a good thing.
@Lammie: Thanks, Lammie! That means a lot! Oftentimes, we like to talk about how people feel about a title because (at least for me) it helps with the buying process. What they like could be something you hate or vice versa. And life is too short for books you don’t enjoy!
A ton of Harlequin category books went on sale for $1.99 on Friday for some reason… my eReader IQ alert was pinging for Sarah Mayberry and Jill Shalvis all day! If you have a Harlequin author you enjoy, it’s worth having a look to see if any of their titles are marked down
I agree with Lammie. Your sale posts must take a lot more work than simply linking to the books, but it is extremely helpful to read the information you add. I’m happy to see that you’ll be posting them twice a week.

I might have bought up Kat Cantrell’s (non-preggo, non-kid/baby) Harlequin Desire backlist. My bank account weeps. lol
Darling Beast is my least favorite Maiden Lane book. Which makes it still really darn good. That entire series is fantastic.
Michelle, thank you so much for the link! I now have a bunch of Carla Kellys lined up for the next time I have a bad cold (and Jeannie Lin is on sale, too!)
I agree with Lammie about the book sale postings. The additional comments help a lot and have sold me on several books.
