Wallflower Gone Wild

RECOMMENDED: Wallflower Gone Wild by Maya Rodale is $2.99! This is the second book in the Bad Boys & Wallflowers series, and you can get the first book, plus several others from Rodale, on sale! Elyse reviewed this book in the summer of 2014 and gave it an A:
The sexual tension in this book was really well done, and I loved the slow and organic way that Olivia and Phinn looked past “London’s Least Likely” and “The Mad Baron” to fall in love with the actual person they were married to. Reading about both of them coming out of their shells was a delight.
In the second in Maya Rodale’s delightful Wallflower series, London’s Least Likely to Cause a Scandal is taking Society by storm…
Being good has worked out very badly for Lady Olivia Archer. All she has to show for four seasons on the marriage mart is the nickname Prissy Missy. Her prospects are so bleak that her parents have betrothed her to a stranger with a dire reputation. If Phinneas Cole—aka The Mad Baron—wants a biddable bride, perhaps Olivia can frighten him off by breaking every ladylike rule.
Phinn has admired Olivia’s poise and refinement from afar…qualities that appear to have vanished now that they are officially engaged. This Olivia is flirtatious, provocative, and wickedly irresistible. She’s not at all the woman he bargained for, yet she’s the only one he wants.
He’s determined to woo her. She’s determined to resist. But Olivia is discovering there’s nothing so appealing as a fiancé who’s mad, bad, and dangerously seductive…

Someone to Watch Over Me by Lisa Kleypas is $2.99. This is book 1 of her Bow Street Runners series, and features a courtesan, amnesia, and a hero who is kind of grumpy. Some readers loved him, others found it difficult to forgive him his assumptions about the heroine. It has a 3.8-star rating on Goodreads. Have you read this one?
Grant Morgan is one of London’s most eligible and unattainable bachelors. He’s also a powerful member of the Bow Street Runners, and when he’s called to the waterfront late one night to investigate a drowning victim, Grant is stunned to recognize the face of Vivien Rose Duvall, a well-known woman of the night. He’s even more startled when he realizes that she’s alive. With no one to care for her, Grant carries Vivien to his home and revives her, only to learn that she is suffering from amnesia.
Vivien hesitantly accepts her handsome rescuer’s claim that she is his mistress, despite her misgivings about her true identity. Nevertheless, she can’t deny the marks on her throat that prove her near-drowning in the Thames was not an accident, and now she must trust the man who claims her as his paramour, for her life is in danger. As Grant searches for Vivien’s attacker, the two find themselves falling in love, all the while struggling to stay one step ahead of the evil forces that will stop at nothing to see Vivien dead.

Catch a Falling Heiress by Laura Lee Guhrke is 99c! This is book three in the American Heiress in London series and naturally, features an American heiress in London. Elyse also mentioned this book in a previous podcast. Several readers felt the ending was rushed and rather abrupt, but a few readers thought the romance evolved and progressed at a realistic pace. Boo. Not on sale for Canadians. I’ll be checking over the next few days to see if the price will drop for us. Nuts.
loved Sarah MacLean’s Ten Ways…
I started the Kleypas after several recommendations, yet keep putting it down because I find the hero so intensely unlikable. Not sure I’ll finish it.
I’m tempted by the Maya Rodale book, though!
The Amazon link for the Kleypas book isn’t working for me. (I think I already own it, but want to double check since I gave away my paper copy.)
@Susan: I tested it on my end and it’s ok for me now. I’m not sure what went wrong – I’m sorry! Does it still not work for you?
@Susan and SB Sarah: That was me! I fixed it late last night when I couldn’t sleep.
