Cover copy? But of course!
Seattle Sharks wide receiver Kyle Carlson needs to escape and Noel, Washington, is the perfect place for him to do it and figure out his next step. He likes the seclusion and predictability of the small town…until the biggest surprise of his life turns up in the local grocery store.
Sophie Hayes has her own reasons for disappearing without a trace and moving to Noel. This mountain town makes her feel safe for the first time in a long time. But her quiet routine is threatened when Kyle walks back into her life. Growing up in the same Florida town, she always had a little thing for the sexy football player. This tie to her old life, though, could mean she has to run again, even if her heart wants to stay.
When the reason she fled shows up in Noel, Kyle and Sophie, with a little extra help from his teammates, must decide to stay and fight for the life, and love, they’ve found together.
Julie wanted to host a giveaway that included some fun cookware, and copies of the book, and her suggestion for a grand prize made me want to put my credit card in the freezer so I wouldn’t be tempted. As Julie put it, “The heroine in my novella is obsessed with cookware, so to say she’d kill to get her hands on these would be an understatement. ;-)”
The grand prize? A set of four Le Creuset mini Cocottes with a cookbook!
AREN’T THEY ADORABLE?
From the product description:
Pretty little stoneware French/Dutch ovens—perfectly sized for single servings—are made from enameled stoneware for even temperature distribution. They’re versatile, too—going from freezer and microwave to oven and dishwasher with no trouble, and the glazed interior helps release food for quick cleanup. The serving ideas are limited only by your imagination, but if you’d like some suggestions, Le Creuset includes a tempting cookbook with a range of 25 mouthwatering recipes.
Yeah, I can think of several things I’d like to make using those cocottes. The grand prize winner will receive the set of four, plus a digital galley of Guarding Sophie. Plus, two runners up will also receive a digital galley of Guarding Sophie, too. Yay!
Standard disclaimers apply: void where prohibited. I’m not being compensated for this giveaway. Open to US residents (apologies, y’all). Must be over 18 and prepared to read and cook some fine, fine things. Your mileage may vary. Objects in mirror are closer than they appear, especially if you are farsighted. Do not taunt happy fun ball. If you can’t take the heat, try turning on the A/C, especially in the kitchen. If conditions persist, contact a physician. Keep out of reach of children. Do not remove tag under penalty of Law. I don’t know this Law person but I presume the penalties are not fun.
Winners will be chosen on Friday, 16 October, and winners will be announced same day.
Ready to enter? Just leave a comment below and tell us: what would you cook if you won the set of four cocottes? Recipe links welcome, of course!
Happy fantasy cooking, and good luck!
ETA: We have a winner! Congratulations to Andrea D., who won the cocottes and a digital galley of Guarding Sophie. Our two runners up receive a digital galley of Guarding Sophie as well: boanderey and Kayli.
Congrats, and thank you to everyone who entered!

Mmmmm, those look like they’d be perfect for little apple crisps – have to leave room for a scoop of ice cream on top, though!
Soy sauce ginger chicken, spicy rice cakes, and lemon chicken soup. Mmmm.
Chocolate souffles first off probably. But there are so many appealing ideas in the comments!
Chicken pot pies like Marshall Fields used to make them. My favorite great-aunt took me to lunch in the Walnut Room when I was 10, and I’ve never had better.
These are the perfect size for individual apple crisps. Or for just freezing individual dinner portions for busy days. Plus they’re adorable.
I think I might attempt Taty Andrée’s Rillettes recipe and my mother-in-law’s French Onion soup, of course.
Can’t decide, but it will involve bubbling cheesy goodness….
Chicken Pot Pie! French Onion Soup! Personal Apple Crisp! Mac & Cheese! So many options! Great giveaway!
Ooh… mac and cheese for sure! And then molten lava cakes… not at the same time 🙂
Ooooh. Custards. Little custards.
Baked mac & cheese (with bacon, probably) and little egg bakes!
I would cook… up a way to make these a prize in my next Gaming Gathering, as I can’t cook anything myself. Fortunately, I have several games with a cooking/food theme, including LORD OF THE FRIES, BOHNANZA, A LA CARTE, NINJA BURGER, JUST DESSERTS, and — stretching it — STAR MUNCHKIN, since the new race Veggie is basically bunches of vegetables with eyes. (I could have more games with zombies if people are considered food, but that would be, ahem, tasteless.)
Tiny chicken pot pies, and then shepherd’s pies (or vice versa).
Lava brownies made with bourbon. Soft, gooey centers…mmmm…
Apple crisp
I have a 5 quart version of one of these little ones and I so love it!
I would cook individual crab and artichoke dips… assuming it ever cools off below 90 here 🙂
Hmmmmmm, bread pudding, French onion soup, mac and cheese, chicken pot pies, chocolate mousse, lemon cream, breakfast casserole with sausage and or bacon and cheese, baked chicken curry with potatoes, individual potato gratin, artichoke dip… the possibilities are endless!
I’d make a quiche or pot pie.
French onion soup and chocolate lave cakes. Yummy.
Mac & cheese 😉
I would make some apple crisp with cranberries.
Tiny onion soups! AND I WOULD EAT THEM ALL.
Braised short rib pasta!
Pumpkin risotto! (Yes, I’m a terrible pumpkin person.)
A giant cinnamon roll! (It can be done.)
I would finally try my hand at a souffle. That is an awesome set and I appreciate the chance.
My husband assures me that one container, regardless of size, is one serving. So when I make this blackberry cobbler, I need to do it in small containers.

Apple crisps or Apple crumble.
How cute are those cocottes? They perfectly match my bigger version!!!
I’d make tasty cute little mini molten lava cakes. Yum.
Molten Lava Cakes would be the first thing I’d make then onto French Onion Soup.
I’d make individual pineapple upside down cakes. My hubby’s favorite.
I’ve always wanted to make creme brulee!
Oh the possibilities!!! I would have to try this Cocoa Caramel Bliss Popovers recipe first http://doughmesstic.com/2012/03/01/cocoa-caramel-bliss-popovers/
@Eliza, where in the supermarket does one find this coffee creamer? I’ve never seen it.
I would make bouef en daube!
Stuff to wow the kid units… Mini lasagnas, mini apple crisps, and SOUP. Lots of soup. Soupe à l’oignon. Ohh la la.
Chocolate or caramel pots de creme, full stop. They are amazing!
I would cook…. Hm. I would definitely make some delicious soups and chilis heading into fall/winter.
Small pot pies with turkey and vegetables!!
I would cook French Onion soup……I love the melted cheese.
Quiche and pots de creme.
Little lava cakes, onion soup, tamale pies – the possibilities are endless!
