Cover copy? But of course!
Seattle Sharks wide receiver Kyle Carlson needs to escape and Noel, Washington, is the perfect place for him to do it and figure out his next step. He likes the seclusion and predictability of the small town…until the biggest surprise of his life turns up in the local grocery store.
Sophie Hayes has her own reasons for disappearing without a trace and moving to Noel. This mountain town makes her feel safe for the first time in a long time. But her quiet routine is threatened when Kyle walks back into her life. Growing up in the same Florida town, she always had a little thing for the sexy football player. This tie to her old life, though, could mean she has to run again, even if her heart wants to stay.
When the reason she fled shows up in Noel, Kyle and Sophie, with a little extra help from his teammates, must decide to stay and fight for the life, and love, they’ve found together.
Julie wanted to host a giveaway that included some fun cookware, and copies of the book, and her suggestion for a grand prize made me want to put my credit card in the freezer so I wouldn’t be tempted. As Julie put it, “The heroine in my novella is obsessed with cookware, so to say she’d kill to get her hands on these would be an understatement. ;-)”
The grand prize? A set of four Le Creuset mini Cocottes with a cookbook!
AREN’T THEY ADORABLE?
From the product description:
Pretty little stoneware French/Dutch ovens—perfectly sized for single servings—are made from enameled stoneware for even temperature distribution. They’re versatile, too—going from freezer and microwave to oven and dishwasher with no trouble, and the glazed interior helps release food for quick cleanup. The serving ideas are limited only by your imagination, but if you’d like some suggestions, Le Creuset includes a tempting cookbook with a range of 25 mouthwatering recipes.
Yeah, I can think of several things I’d like to make using those cocottes. The grand prize winner will receive the set of four, plus a digital galley of Guarding Sophie. Plus, two runners up will also receive a digital galley of Guarding Sophie, too. Yay!
Standard disclaimers apply: void where prohibited. I’m not being compensated for this giveaway. Open to US residents (apologies, y’all). Must be over 18 and prepared to read and cook some fine, fine things. Your mileage may vary. Objects in mirror are closer than they appear, especially if you are farsighted. Do not taunt happy fun ball. If you can’t take the heat, try turning on the A/C, especially in the kitchen. If conditions persist, contact a physician. Keep out of reach of children. Do not remove tag under penalty of Law. I don’t know this Law person but I presume the penalties are not fun.
Winners will be chosen on Friday, 16 October, and winners will be announced same day.
Ready to enter? Just leave a comment below and tell us: what would you cook if you won the set of four cocottes? Recipe links welcome, of course!
Happy fantasy cooking, and good luck!
ETA: We have a winner! Congratulations to Andrea D., who won the cocottes and a digital galley of Guarding Sophie. Our two runners up receive a digital galley of Guarding Sophie as well: boanderey and Kayli.
Congrats, and thank you to everyone who entered!

I would make individual deep-dish chocolate chip cookies!
Oh, those are lovely! Would be fabulous to serve my homemade, Minnesota wild rice soup in these gorgeous Le Crueset mini cocottes. Piping hot, straight from the oven. 🙂 Thank you for the awesome giveaway … can’t wait to read Guarding Sophie!
I would use them to make Shepard’s Pie to enjoy while reading.
Souffles, cobbler, pie, you name it. Also Kraft mac-n-cheese because i am the kind of person who brings home Taco Bell and busts out the fancy china.
French onion soup!
I’m a very basic cook, so have no recipe to share. I’m sure I’d find something yummy in the cookbook though.
I would cook individual gluten-free vegan wild rice lentil things ( i normally call them loaves, but they wouldn’t be loaves anymore when cooked in these).
Goat cheese and mushroom souffles–pretty much the gottdam greatest souffles ever. Find them on Bon Appetit. You’ll know the ones by the parmesan crust used to line the bakeware. ::drool::
There’s this creamy scallop dish (the name eludes me right now) that I used to make a long time ago that would be perfect for these.
Just looked it up- coquilles st. jacques
Mini cheesecakes, mac and cheese, why does everything delicious have cheese?!
Apple & cranberry crumble
Matzahball soup
mac & cheese
(It’s chilly here today – I’m in the mood for Autumn comfort food).
oooh, individual apple crisps!
Veggie pot pies!
Mini pot pies and french onion soup! Oh man, I’m hungry.
@S. Haggerty: Thanks for the lobster pot pie recipe! I didn’t make it to Cape Cod this year, and this will serve as a delightful reminder of what I missed — and motivation to get there next year!
As for what I’d make?
I’ve always wanted some Le Creuset, so if I win, I would want to try something new in my new cookware. The local farmers market sells llama meat, which I’ve never had before, so I’m thinking that might be a good place to start. Llama stew, perhaps? And while its cooking, I’ll read my digital galley of Guarding Sophie.
Mini punpkin maple cream bread puddings topped with maple walnut ice cream.
Ohhh, any recipe would taste better in these lovelies, but I would start with a tourtiere, especially with the holiday red enamel!
Anything I damn well wanted, probably start with pot pies, though.
Bacon mac-n-cheese!
French onion soup!
EVERYTHING.
But definitely mac and cheese and chicken pot pie and french onion soup oh god I’m hungry now.
Mini chicken pot pies, individual french onion soup, mini no knead bread balls.
@Sarah I didn’t even think of mini breads! That’s a fabulous idea. They get so springy when they start baking with a lid on.
Chili with cornbread baked on top, mini-soufflés, also I have recipe for a cheesy dip with artichoke hearts that is baked in the oven, so these would be lovely for cooking and serving it.
Right now, it might have to be apple crumble. Then I can freeze some and enjoy (& unfortunately share) with a bit of vanilla ice cream right away
Green chili rice casserole and chocolate fudge pudding cake. Chocolate fudge pudding cake is like the predecessor to Lava cakes, from a 1940’s Betty Crocker cookbook.
Umm, what can I make? Sweet potato casseroles or some version of layered brownies or maybe fruit compotes or fruit crisps or chicken pot pies…. Now I’m hungry.
I have no idea what I would cook, but it would definitely be something sweet!
all of the {vegetarian} things!!! omnomnom!. first up, chocolate lave cakes!
Quiche. Fondue. Personal deep dish pizzas. Happiness.
Chicken Pot Pie! Thank you for the chance to win.
Yorkshire puddings!
All sorts of mini desserts like cobblers and lava cake. Then there’s the pot pies – chicken and turkey since daughter won’t eat beef. Mini casseroles would be good too. Oh and French onion soup. And . . . Tons of things
Chocolate lava cakes, apple cobbler and onion soup top my list. Thanks for the giveaway.
Whoa can you make a souffle in these? Because I’ve never made one but always wanted to and they look perfect for first attempt souffle ruining.
Pot pies and anything chocolate. Other things as well
Mini apple crisps and mini chicken pot pies
@Elise:
“[T]hey look perfect for first attempt souffle ruining” made me nearly snort coffee up my nose. HA!
Anything/everything chocolate
But, of course, I would cook Beef Bourguignon.
