  1. Karenmc says:

When Meredith Duran finishes the sequel to The Duke of Shadows, I’ll pre-order the crap out of that thing.

  2. Jenny says:

The Shepherd’s Crown by Terry Pratchett. It will be the last time I ever read a Discworld novel for the first time (sniff).

  3. BetsyDub says:

    1) A paper copy of “The Legend of Lyon Richmond”.
2)One copy each of “The Day the Crayons Quit” and its even more hilarious sequel, “The Day the Crayons Came Home” to read aloud to the kids iat the school in which I volunteer (and then donate them to their library so they can plunder them over and over to their little hearts’ desires).
3)Speaking of hilarious, the new Mindy Kaling (and the $$ I would be saving on that by having a gift card would pay for about 2 months of Hulu, so I can watch “The Mindy Project”).
4)One or two more copies of “El Deafo” by CeCe Bell to give to some deserving friends (gotta laugh, gotta cry – or in this case, the reverse).
    5) And (because I’m looking at you, $100 grand prize), the Nook box set of Gail Carriger’s first five- book series, currently $16.99.
Ambitious, I know. But grateful, too. Thanks.
    And L’Shana Tovah!

    Calamity, by Brandon Sanderson.

  13. Jen G. says:

Molly Harper has a book and a novella coming out in the next couple of months that I can’t for! And I really want to read the new Mindy Kaling book (the first had me laughing out loud as I read it.) I’ve also been watching a lot of the Great British Bake-Off. I used to bake all the time, but haven’t for a while because life’s been crazy, but am now inspired to get back in the kitchen. So I also have a couple of cookbooks on my list.

  14. elianara says:

The latest JD Robb is on my list, and I would like the Felicia Day book: You’re never weird on the Internet

I’m waiting for Cold-Hearted Rake (Kleypas), Only a Kiss (Balogh), & Corridors of the Night (Perry). Also, Zits Apocalypse (Borgman & Scott) just ’cause I like my comics/cartoons!

and just a comment that this site is dangerous!! to my wallet!! too many good recommendations… and too little time to read them!

(yes, I like exclamation points, too!!)

  18. lillibet says:

Definitely some graphic novels, so much better in paper format. Saga, fables, morning glories, rat queens…

  19. RevMelinda says:

I’m waiting for Sharon Shinn’s “Jeweled Fire” which I believe has a November pub date.

  20. K.N.O'Rear says:

While I don’t want anything specific at the moment, I’m counting down the days until Winter by Merissa Meyer comes out . As for stuff to by at the moment I wouldn’t mind a nonfiction book on the publishing industry and I’m always up for a good Middlegrade book like Lumberjanes. I also wouldn’t mind sharing part of A Hastings gift card with my husband who is also a huge bookworm.

  21. Megan M. says:

I’ve been wanting to buy Lumberjanes Vol. 1 for a long time! I’d love to win!

  22. ppyajunebug says:

Oh man, so many things! But probably the first volume of Lumberjanes and Sandman, which I need to read for my book club!

  23. Emily says:

Top of the list is Julie Anne Long’s The Legend of Lyon Redmond in a couple of weeks. So excited for that book. I didn’t know Meredith Duran was doing a Duke of Shadows follow up. I will have to research because I will be all over that.

  24. Olivia says:

Unfortunately I just spent a butt-load of cash at the bookstore because it had been soo long, and then spent more at the used bookstore filling in some gaps…bur right now I’m in a re-read mode, currently on my list is Eloisa James and Julia Quinn series, and I’m almost finished re-reading Cynster series by Stephanie Laurens so I can read the new ones. And I’m waiting on the period time to read the new Christine Feehan books.

Oh oh, I would totally buy the new Lynsay Sands vampire book, so looking forward to that one!

  25. blodeuedd says:

    What wouldn’t I buy first!! 🙂
But I do want the new Ilona Andrews, I have not read it yet, sigh

  26. cin says:

There are so many books I want, I’m not sure what currently is at the top of the list. Probably the latest Nalini Singh book. But I definitely will be pre-ordering the next Patricia Briggs and Anne Bishop books…. So many books, so little time (these days).

  27. KellyM says:

I have a ‘wish list too expensive’ (for me) shelf I would like to dust off and get a few books from like a few more of Lynn Kurland’s series, Jaci Burton’s new book, and the ‘Texts from Jane Eyre: And Other Conversations with Your Favorite Literary Characters’ book.

  28. Crystal says:

I currently really want Red-Rose Chain, Vengeance Road, and Six of Crows. Do want so much.

  29. Heather S says:

Oh, gosh… It’s so hard to choose just one! All of the books I’m waiting for won’t be out for another couple of months or more! I guess what I’m most looking forward to getting out of my hold stack at work is the boxed paperback set of Deborah Harkness’ All Souls trilogy. It’s so pretty that I just can’t resist it!

  30. Kelsey C. says:

It’s a toss up between instant and delayed gratification. I’m really wanting the new Tessa Dare and Kerrigan Byrne books or pre-order the next Patricia Briggs and Anne Bishop books.

Thank you for such a wonderful giveaway

I think I’m at the beginning of Bujold’s Vorkosigan series – I read A Civil Campaign and will be making my way through most of the rest, I can tell.

  33. Bea says:

    Thanks for the giveaway!

I’d purchase The Masked Truth by Kelley Armstrong, Schemes by Krista D. Ball, Preotectors 2: Heroes,an anthology, and Devoted in Death by J.D. Robb.

  34. Louise H. says:

I have been dying to read the new Lisa Kleypas! That would probably be my first purchase. 🙂

  35. Nancy says:

So many awesome authors have new releases: Rock Kiss by Nalini Singh, Harlot by Victoria Dahl, the final book in Grimm series by Shiloh Walker, Shadows End by Thea Harrison, Garden of Lies by Amanda Quick and whatever Courtney Milan decides to release next – was hoping it’s sequel to Trade Me but looks like it’s the start to a new series. And that’s just what I can think of off the top of my head…

  36. JennyOH says:

My six year old is getting into graphic novels – I’ve found a bunch of graphic versions of classics (Boxcar Children, Black Beauty) that I’d love to get her.

  37. EmR says:

Definitely the last Terry Pratchett book and then I’d probably blow the rest on Girl Genius & Saga!

  38. Meg says:

I tend to only buy books I’m guaranteed to read again and again, so I’ll say the new Food Lab cookbook, coming out soon (this week?).

  39. Natalija says:

Acute Reactions by Ruby Lang. It’s about a guy, Ian Zamora, who suffers from allergies and an allergist Petra Lale. I think it sounds cute 🙂

  40. Vicki says:

What is on my list that I would probably buy is Missoula: Rape and the Justice System in a College Town by Jon Krakauer. I enjoy his writing – Into Thin Air is a favorite book. I was also in Missoula for the period of time that this covers and followed this very closely.

And, of course, all the books that get added to my wishlist every time you ask what we are reading.
