Giveaway: Signed Hardcover Collection of Charley Davidson Series

Giveaway time! Darynda Jones would like to give away a signed hardcover collection – all eight books – of her Charley Davidson series. That’s an instant library, isn’t it?

The series maintains 4+ star averages, and, as you might have heard when she was a guest on a recent podcast, contains a big mystery and a small mystery, plus a slow-building romance/attraction between Charley and a mysterious dude who initially just shows up in her dreams a lot, as you do. If you’ve been curious, now’s your chance.

The other cool thing is that the covers are gorgeous. Have a look:

Book First Grave on the Right - white pants with silver skull sandals  Book Second Grave on the Left - Leather jacket and pants with a sparkly skull belt buckle Book third Grave Dead Ahead - a close up of Charleys legs wearing loose red Chuck Taylor shoes Book Fourth Grave beneath my feet - leather pants and a green silk top, with a sparkly skull engraved on the back pocket of the jeansBook fifth grave past the light - a close up of a diamond-encrusted skull pendant Charley has a lot of sparkly thingsBook Sixth Grave on the Edge - charleys sunglasses have tiny skulls at the hinge at each corner Book Seventh Grave and no body a close up of a pink leather watch strap with a sparkly skull charm on the bandBook Eighth Grave After Dark a close up of a wrap around watch with black leather and brass studs and skulls riveted to the band

Fabulous, right?

Plus, as a prize for the runner-up, I have a signed copy of the newest book, Eighth Grave After Dark. Yay!

So here’s how to enter: tell us in the comments which of the accessories on the cover you would most want, and you’re entered to win. It would be a fun shopping trip –  the shoes on the first cover are from Alexander McQueen and are usually around $900, if you can find them.

Standard disclaimers apply: I’m not being compensated for this giveaway. Void where prohibited. Open to international residents were permitted by applicable law. Must be over 18 and ready to read and accessorize to win. Your mileage may vary. Objects in mirror are closer than they appear, especially if you are farsighted. If you’ve enjoyed these disclaimers half as much as we’ve enjoyed writing them, then we’ve enjoyed writing them twice as much as you’ve enjoyed reading them.  Winners will be chosen at random on Friday 29 May 2015 and will be announced same day. Thank you to Darynda Jones for the set of hardcovers – I love a prize that gives readers an instant library of good books to read!

Good luck!

Apologies! My calendar reminder didn’t go off, and I completely missed what day it was. I’m sorry about that! Let’s do some winner-announcing, eh?

The grand prize winner of a complete hardcover set of the Charley Davidson series is: Kathy B.

The runner up, who wins a signed hardcover of Eighth Grave After Dark, is: Susan R.

Thank you to everyone who entered, and to Darynda Jones for the giveaway prize!

  1. Nettle says:

I’d go for the watch on the last book!

  2. Mel Rowe says:

The skull shades on book 6. Not only look good, but can use for discreet eye candy viewing….

  3. Terrill Rosado says:

The skull aviators, for sure!! Aviators are iconic and the skulls give it extra “cool.”

  4. Caro says:

As a one-time scythe-ing medal winner at our county fair (true story), I’ll take the edged weapon, please!

  5. Bec says:

The watch and bangle from book 8! I just love them

  6. Lynnette says:

Definitley the watch on book 8.

  7. kitkat9000 says:

Since the scythe isn’t an option, which is too bad really but I would rather not be arrested, gotta go with the necklace on book 5. Agree with a previous poster about the jacket, though.

  8. Jane Drew says:

I have to say, I LOVE this series- I have been binge-reading them since the sale on the e-book versions of Books 1-6 a couple of weeks ago, checked them out from the library so that my roommate could ALSO binge-read them at the same time, and am eagerly awaiting my turn with one of the local library’s copies of Book 8.

While the scythe is very tempting (what?), I think I would have to go with the fantastic watch/bracelet combo on the cover of “Eighth Grave After Dark.”

  9. Linda says:

I want that skull belt buckle!

  10. Malissa says:

    The shoes…dear god the shoes!!!

  11. Katherine C. says:

Love those sandals, but I think I’d actually wear the watch more.

  12. LSUReader says:

I like the ring on “First Grave.” Thanks for the giveaway.

  13. Betsy says:

Can’t wear thong sandals, so the amazing A. McQueens
would not get the attention they deserve from the world just sitting at home. The jeans are fab, but not necessarily on a – shall we say – very perpendicular lower half of a 5ft 2in body. The new watch, now that really floats my boat, but I’m a black-and-silver woman and every day I’d be wishing it was thus… so, I’m going to have to go with the conversation starter that is the necklace on Book 2. Yeah, 2. Think of all the crazy exchanges that would come from wearing that every day.

  14. Monica V. says:

I would love the skull watch and bracelet set. It would be great to win the set of books. I did read the first two books in the series but I never went beyond that. I know that the series has tons of fans so I’m probably missing something good.

  15. Jen B. says:

My daughter would want the sneakers on the cover of the 3rd book. I LUV the sandals on the first book! They are my favorite cover.

  16. connie says:

    I love the watch!

  17. Naomi says:

I actually love the whole outfit on the third cover (which might have something to do with the fact that I love the color red)! The red dress looks like the upper part is probably as amazing as the lower one and then together with the chucks it looks really cool I think, not to forget the ring with the skull and that badass scythe 🙂
(please excuse any grammar, punctuation or spelling mistakes as english is not my mothertongue ^^)

  18. Monkey Pantsuit says:

    the watch!
skulls, yet traditional – you can’t go wrong

oh my god, I want to win these so bad. I ignored the series for years, thinking I’d read the first one and hadn’t liked it. Last month I started reading the second one and realized I’d never read the first. i had it confused with another PNR. Love this series! Tragic, that I missed out for so long.

  19. LaurieF says:

The sneakers and the sunglasses. Have to go with what I wear everyday 🙂

  20. Barbara Elness says:

I’d love the watch on the eighth cover – very smart and useful too. 😀

  21. Karina C says:

I love, love, love that necklace in the fifth book and the disclaimer!

  22. jaymzangel says:

As Charley hasn’t had a cover with a McQueen handbag yet, I will go for the sandals on the cover of First Grave on the Right.

  23. Keith says:

The red tennis shoes on #3. Excellent little detail.

  24. Amy S. says:

I like the watch from the newest book. However when I got the 2nd book I fell in love with the A Novel necklace and my mom had it made for me and gave it to me as a birthday present!

  25. Kayli says:

    The watch is my favorite.
    ?

Oh, what time is it, you ask? See that skull right there? That means it’s time to KICK SOME ASS.

  26. erinf1 says:

I’d have to go with the sparkly skull belt buckles 🙂 thanks for the awesome giveaway! I’ve read a lot of great reviews for this series and it’s on the top of my wantlist!

  27. Not Tonight, I'm Reading says:

Hmm, what to choose. The watch. The sandals. The watch. The sandals. I guess I would get the most use out of the watch. But the sandals are definitely a close second. What a fabulous giveaway!

  28. Michele says:

I’m partial to the red chucks myself. These really are fantastic covers!

  29. Christina says:

Does that jacket count? Cause it’s so cool looking! The red shoes on book three are something I would wear all the time too.

  30. Lynn Pauley says:

Like Gretchen, I want the leather jacket from Second Grave on the Left. If that does not count as an accessory, I will take the watch from Eighth Grave after Dark.

  31. Lisa Boike says:

I think I would like the sunglasses.

  32. Emily says:

I want those sunglasses. Maybe if I had glasses like that I would actually wear them and I could see all the time while driving. Also I listened to that pod cast and I really liked the author and the interview in general.

  33. Alex says:

I love the sunglasses on book six, though I might be basing that on the weather lately. 🙂

  34. Shawnie says:

The covers are beautiful! First choice, the watch. Second choice, the glasses!

  35. Hmm. I think I’d like the scythe from the 3rd and 4th covers if for no other reason it would make an interesting conversation starter. :p

  36. Kelly S. says:

I’m not really a fan of skulls, so I’d go for the simple black ring on the left hand on the cover of book 1. It was between that, the “A Novel” necklace or the scythe. The necklace might work as I’m a librarian and the scythe would be a great prop for going as “Death” to a Halloween party.

  37. Celia says:

Definitely the Alexander McQueen shoes on the first cover. Those are amazing!

  38. Crytal says:

The shoes from the first book. The first time I saw it, I went searching for them. True story. I was elated to find that they were real, and then highly dismayed when I saw how much they cost. I would wear those forever.

  39. Jasmine D says:

Those red chucks! I`ve always wanted a pair and haven`t (until recently) lived in a spot to get myself one!

  40. Kris Bock says:

Does the scythe count as an accessory? Cause that could come in handy. I also like the sunglasses. I’m always breaking or losing mine. I have most of these as ebooks, but print is easier on my wrists so I wouldn’t mind having the set.
