Details? Of course! The winner will be subscribed for one calendar year to the Harlequin SuperRomance line, and will receive four print Superromances every month. Prize value: $170+ USD.
What kind of books are in the Harlequin Superromance line? Well, first, they’re larger than other books published in the category lines – up to 85,000 words. Second, they, to quote the Harlequin website, “are filled with powerful relationships that deliver a strong emotional punch and a guaranteed happily ever after.” In other words, FEELS. FEELS AHOY EVERYWHERE GET THE FEELS ROOMBA TO CORRAL THEM.
Here are what some Superromance authors have to say about the line they write in, and why they love it:Liz Talley: Superromance is… robust, fully-fleshed romance that stretches the gamut of settings, character-types and genres. Superromance is perfect for the eclectic and discerning romance reader.
Claire McEwen:Â I love Superromance because the stories are complicated and interesting. Â When I read them, I get the intense romance and happy ending that I so enjoy, but I also get so much more: fully realized secondary characters, fascinating settings, really creative conflicts and situations. Â When I finish a Super I feel like I’ve actually been with the characters in a very emotional and compelling place. Â It’s the best kind of escape.
Lenora Worth: Â I love writing Superromance. The stories are longer, deeper and include more family dynamics. I’ve always read Supers. And I always wanted to write for the line. A Super can be very sweet or more steamy and I like that about the line, too. It’s a saga that draws the reader into the characters and their world. I’ve learned a lot, writing for Superromance.Â
Jennifer Lohmann: What I love aboutSuperromance can best be described in pitching my books to my editor. When I pitch something like, “So, there’s this heroine who lost her Olympic gold medal because she doped…” my editor responds, “Great! Don’t pull your punches.” It’s that “don’t pull your punches” attitude that makes Supers so wonderful. If you haven’t read a SuperRomance before, and you like contemporary romances with layered stories and  lot of emotion, you’ll want to enter this giveaway.

Harlequin SuperRomances happen to be my favorite of the Harlequin line. Contemporary romances, particularly second chance romances are always irresistible to me.
Romantic suspense is my go to contemporary. I do like a few ones that are not suspense ones, my enjoyment of most contemporaries is more based on writing quality and if I like the characters than any specific plot point. I can’t stand ones with kids though.
I love romance were there is enough time to get to know the characters and build the romance. I also like to cry and sometimes I read a story where I’m so invested I can’t help but tear up.
I love contemporaries where either of the main characters are overcoming some deep, dark past. As long as their trauma isn’t solved by The Lurve of a Good Man/Woman.
I like any romance with humor and a good well-rounded story.
I love romances with military men Seals, Special Forces, etc. I also love contemporary family romances. I like complicated romance. I just like romance. I used to read historical romance, not so much anymore. I love to read books that I end up sitting up half the night reading!
I love Harlequins, especially Blaze!
I love suspense/mystery romances and romances set in hospital/doctor offices.
I like friends to lovers. And while I do prefer contemps to historicals, I can/do will read pretty much anything/everything.
i love contemporary romance i love the love it has been awhile since i bought a superromance but have my favorite i still read and re-reqd
I love contemporary romances the most, but I will read anything as long as it has a happy ending. I need a happy ending and harlequin always provides me with one.
Small town romaces are definitely my favorite.
I love small town contemporary romances. I really like the series based on large families. Add in some single parents and I am in!
I love contemporary romance and love both Harlequin Superromance and Blaze. I also read a lot of indie authors on my Kindle. However, some of my most favorite authors are published by Superromance – Vicki Essex, Mary Sullivan and Molly O’Keefe – the longer length of this line allow the writers to create complex plots and wonderful characters that inhabit your head for a long time after the last page. I’m imagining a whole year’s subscription to this line and think … when would I do anything else but read.
I’ve read SuperRomances for years, but not so many lately. I enjoy stories about family. The unexpected pregnancy has always been a favorite.
I love urban fantasy, but consider it different from romance (even though the lines get blurrier all the time), so I’d say that my favorite contemporaries are the sports ones! Especially some of the older Susan Elizabeth Phillips books. I love feel good sports movies, too, so I guess it’s a natural offshoot!
I like medical stories, as long as they get most of the details right. Medicine is my life and my work and I love seeing romance in the hospital and the hallways and the research labs (not so many romances set there, I think). I also like second chance, bad boys, and maybe some music thrown in there. Ok, you guys, write me a super romance with a lady doc and a rock star who knew each other way back when. That would hit so many of my catnips!
Definitely contemporary romances where they solve a crime and fall in love. Especially ones where you can get completely lost in the story.
I like small town contemporary romances with a good bit of humor. Jill Shalvis, Shannon Stacey, Ruthie Knox, Jennifer Crusie, Rachel Gibson…
I love to read Contemporary Romances with smart dialogue, witty conversation and stretches of humor.
I like paranormal/fantasy and funny ones. I’m happy anytime a book makes me laugh out loud.
I go for paranormal romance the most or contemporary with a taste of New Orleans
I enjoy all romance novels, I don’t have a particular genre other than love winning.
For me, nothing is better than enemies-to-lovers. Love sports romances, small town contemporaries and any kind of story where the characters are forced into proximity.
i love to read everything but I love all the Blaze authors. Have gone on to follow many. Lori adopter, Tawny Weber, Carlly Phillips, etc.
I like the contemporaries set in small towns, probably because I live in a big city.
My favorite type of contemporary romance are the ones where the hero is protective and the heroine is feisty.
My fave contemporaries are friends to lovers with good banter between the main characters.. That trope is my crack. Bonus points for strong female friendships!
In any romance, I most enjoy characters who talk to each other. I wanna understand why these people are good for each other in the long-term and not just desperate to get in each others’ pants. Basically, I don’t have enough trust in the magic of vagina meets penis.
My favorite contemporary is when the heroine unexpectedly gets pregnant! Probably because it’s a more romantic view of my story, but it also feeds my baby fever!
I like all kinds of romance novels.I picked up my first super romance at age 16 and I will be 46. I hope you keep publishing these books for years to come.
I enjoy the contemporary romance and Tawny Weber’s Seals.
Definitely like humor, and prefer heroes and heroines that I could actually imagine meeting…so no billionaire playboy sheikhs… I also like it when both hero and heroine have jobs they like and are good at.
I love contemporary romances that hook me from the very beginning and make me care for the characters….bonus points if it has intrigue and danger involved. When the two main characters are thrown together to solve a crime and try to resist their attraction is always fun. Really enjoy the push-pull between the characters.
I like reading contemporary romance because it feels real.
I do love SuperRomance, esp Sarah Mayberry and Karina Bliss. Complex problems that feel real.
I usuallylike small town contemporary romances where everybody knows everybody’s business. But I also REALLY love Julie James’s books where the women have real careers and are good at their jobs, and the men love that about them.
I love good stories and it doesn’t matter if it’s a classic, a difficult piece of literature or something romantic, I enjoy all of them. When I’m reading a romantic story I like the ones that have been written with emotion. I like to watch the journey the characters have to make and their growth. Of course it doesn’t harm to have a strong and beautiful heroine and a handsome hero. I love sharing reviews and want to let people know about good stories, so I tend to read as much as I can in every genre that appeals to me and I love romance. It always makes me happy to read about someone else happiness.
I’m a sucker for romances with witty, awkward heroines and just-shy-of-alpha heroes
It totally depends on my mood. Sometimes, paranormal. Sometimes, rom-suspense. Sometimes, straight contemporary romance. 🙂
