Details? Of course! The winner will be subscribed for one calendar year to the Harlequin SuperRomance line, and will receive four print Superromances every month. Prize value: $170+ USD.
What kind of books are in the Harlequin Superromance line? Well, first, they’re larger than other books published in the category lines – up to 85,000 words. Second, they, to quote the Harlequin website, “are filled with powerful relationships that deliver a strong emotional punch and a guaranteed happily ever after.” In other words, FEELS. FEELS AHOY EVERYWHERE GET THE FEELS ROOMBA TO CORRAL THEM.
Here are what some Superromance authors have to say about the line they write in, and why they love it:Liz Talley: Superromance is… robust, fully-fleshed romance that stretches the gamut of settings, character-types and genres. Superromance is perfect for the eclectic and discerning romance reader.
Claire McEwen:Â I love Superromance because the stories are complicated and interesting. Â When I read them, I get the intense romance and happy ending that I so enjoy, but I also get so much more: fully realized secondary characters, fascinating settings, really creative conflicts and situations. Â When I finish a Super I feel like I’ve actually been with the characters in a very emotional and compelling place. Â It’s the best kind of escape.
Lenora Worth: Â I love writing Superromance. The stories are longer, deeper and include more family dynamics. I’ve always read Supers. And I always wanted to write for the line. A Super can be very sweet or more steamy and I like that about the line, too. It’s a saga that draws the reader into the characters and their world. I’ve learned a lot, writing for Superromance.Â
Jennifer Lohmann: What I love aboutSuperromance can best be described in pitching my books to my editor. When I pitch something like, “So, there’s this heroine who lost her Olympic gold medal because she doped…” my editor responds, “Great! Don’t pull your punches.” It’s that “don’t pull your punches” attitude that makes Supers so wonderful. If you haven’t read a SuperRomance before, and you like contemporary romances with layered stories and  lot of emotion, you’ll want to enter this giveaway.

i definitely love the contemporary romance where the girl returns to her small town and reunites with a crush/ex/acquaintance. I like when the issues that the hero/heroine faces feel real…I think I hold contemporaries to a higher standard on that front. I also want spunky, sassy, modern heroines who aren’t wimpy.
I love contemporary romance! I read mostly that and fantasy, so this would be just perfect. I think my favourite trope is friends-to-lovers, but I’m willing to read just about anything as long as there isn’t a contrived love triangle. 🙂
I read most romance, but don’t care for paranormal
My favorite genres are historical and urban fantasy. I do also enjoy Harlequin contempories like Harlequin Presents or Harlequin Blaze. I really haven’t read any Superromances recently, so I’m sure I’ve been missing something good. I have to correct that!
I’ve been reading the SuperRomance line for years. Many of my favorite Harlequin authors write for the line. I prefer the longer books as well.
I love reconciliation stories. There is so much hope and joy when a hero and heroine can rekindle a lost love.
I LOVE SuperRomance!! Pick me! Pick me!!
I love harlequin presents best. But I always enjoy superromance when I read them because the story lines are complex and there is good character development.
I love contemporaries with a decent plot. If they have some humor so much the better. I want to like the hero and heroine. I want to like
their friends and family.
I don’t mind plot moppets, like small town setting when they are not
held up to be morally superior to cities.
I like books by Molly OKeefe, Karina Bliss, Joanne Rock to name a few in the Superromance Line.
I am a sucker for marriage of convenience or brother’s best friend stories.
I love the superromances as I love to go thru all the emotions and also want to slap someone at the same time lol! I would love to win a print of this magazine that would be great..
Honestly? I love happy, sweet, heartwarming but sexy contemporary romances. I like the guy-next-door that just loves a woman who’s a little more complicated. I like to see people overcome obstacles together, without it getting too melodramatic. And frankly? I LOVE KIDS IN BOOKS. I just do. I love stories where one of the partners already has a child. I think that’s so real to the experience a lot of adults have in the dating world these days. A lot of people by a certain age either have a child of their own or end up with a partner that has a child. And I just plain like kids.
I love reading historicals, but I dont shy away from contemporary romances either. I read lots of contemporary romances that have suspense/mystery element in them. Also ones that are about the corporate world
I look for stories are that are complex and interesting. I love romances that immerse me into the characters and their world. I must say I am a sucker for happy endings.
I like the Julie James type contemporary: smart heroines, decent heroes (not alpha-holes), great dialogue, and relationships that develop.
I love contemporary romances. Well, I love all kinds of romances. The boy next door, or where the main characters hate each other at first but then fall in love (just to mention two). I love it when the main characters are real and not perfect. I can relate to that. There are so many types of romances and as long as the book has a good story and a happy ending I’ll love it. Thanks for the chance to win a years subscription. Sounds amazing.
i love any kind of books, any genre will do,love comes in all forms,i enjoy them all
I prefer to read contemporary romances with humor and sizzle. Give me characters that aren’t perfect but have redeeming qualities. I prefer sassy and not wimpy heroines matched with strong males. That said, I don’t like alpha to be used as an excuse for disrespect or chauvinism. There is a difference. He can be protective while understanding she is also a capable and functioning adult. I don’t usually care for extremely young main characters or May/December romances. I do, occasionally, like to see the female a few years older than the male.
I like contemporaries with snappy, snarky banter. I hate the trope with the big secret that if they would just talk to each other would all work out. Billionaires generally don’t do much for me, but are sometimes ok. I love friends-to-lovers. But I’ll read almost anything.
I tend to like contemporaries with “fish out of water” plots. I’m not much into the “I hate you, I hate you, I loooove you” arena, but I do like when there are legitimate, seemingly-impossible hurdles.
I’ll read anything and I love variety. I like dialogue, even with non stop action paranormals, sci fi thrillers or cops and lawyers on the trail of a killer. They need to talk like people I know. They need to have human feelings.
Superromance is great because it has more story to it. but for a quick read I love Blaze or Series books. Give me any Lauren Dane book and you have a fan for life!
I like different types of contemporaries one filled with humor. mystery/suspense,historicals, friends to lovers and marriage of convenience stories. a wonderful giveaway!
Funny ones. Honestly, that’s the uniting factor of all my faves. If they have geeky characters, all the better.
I love contemporary romance with lots of humor. There can be way too much angst now days in romance books. I also enjoy subtleness in my romance at times. A gently growing fondness and then love of the H/h.
Contemporary, realistic, not contrived; I like both the Superromance and Heartwarming lines!
I like a contemporary romance with a little humor, a little excitement or mystery, and where at least some of the characters might be “of a certain age.”
I read mostly contemporaries. I love ones with a friends-to-lovers plot or ones with sport heroes. Sports romance that features a guy who’s not quite alpha (a few insecurities) are real favorites. Small town romances are sometimes appealing, but it depends on how isolated and tiny the town may be.
New Adult and books with a first person narrative are NOT, generally, all that interesting and I tend to avoid paranormals unless it’s Nora Roberts.
friends to lovers
Enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience and loners in remote locations are catnip for me.
i love cowboys/small town romance. blue collar works, too!
Lately,I have really been into the small town romances that have a large extended family or a large group of friends, that leads to a series. I like the feeling of coming back to a setting and group of people, as if they are old friends.
When it comes to contemporaries, I prefer friends to lovers, reunited lovers, and suspense. Somehow, I doubt there are many Super-romances that are suspenseful–I don’t remember them from when I read that category years ago. I have noticed that those books have definitely gotten bigger over the years.
Love contemporary romance. My favorite is friends to lovers. Makes such a stable marriage. Love reading anything contemporary though.
Love, love, love romance novels.
My current addiction is to second chance romances. Couples trying again with each other. People moving on and starting fresh with a new love. As I am aging myself, I like novels that feature more mature characters. (Over 35)
Any story with a good plot, lots of love and conflict and a happily ever after is amazing.
I always say contemporaries are my least favorite romance sub-genre, but I actually read quite a few of them. I might be a liar here.
My favorites generally have competent writing, interesting settings and backgrounds, a generous dollop of humor, and well-developed, intelligent adult characters with a sense of honor. I like an author who’ll take some risks with her storytelling even it the result isn’t always 100% successful. I find contemporaries to be some of the best comfort reads for me.
When I read Contemporary romance I tend to like those to have humor. Specifically, I go to things like Jennifer Crusie or Nora Roberts. They are well written with humor and relationships I can relate to and want to be a part of.
I’m not even sure what my favorite things in contemporaries are. It feels like I like completely opposing things. Like business/city-set couples, but also rancher/cowboy/farmer country-set stories. I love medical settings too. And I’m happy with or without kids involved. Mainly I don’t like manufactured angst that could be solved with even a tiny amount of communication, infidelity, and if there’s a secret baby there better be a damn good reason for the secret!
Love to read all types of books, from series, family type and myster
my catnip is enemies to lovers 🙂 thanks for the awesome giveaway!!!!
I enjoy a good friends to lovers, or a friends of siblings romance. I really prefer a light humorous read. over something dark or heavy.
