I have my daddy’s wedding ring I wear as my good luck charm
When I need some extra luck I spritz on some of my favorite expensive perfume that I save for special occasions. It makes me feel like I’m ready for anything.
Not gonna lie: I have lucky underpants. When I was single, they never failed me! *ahem*
I don’t do anything for luck. I just hope for the best.
Say a little prayer and cross my fingers
How very un-Irish of me, but I don’t really believe in luck, just good and bad choices, hard work, and God’s will.
Anytime I need to get lucky I just ask my husband, “Hey, wanna do it?” He’s basically always ready to get lucky, so.
Oh, wait. Is that not what you meant?
I knock on wood, but if a wooden surface isn’t available when I need it I’ll say knock on: marble, cardboard, glass or whatever to cover my bases.
The obvious for a Southern woman: Eat black-eyed peas and collard greens on New Year’s Day! (And maybe also because I really like black-eyed peas and collard greens).
And Erin (3/16/15 at 6:07pm): Your comment is great!
For good luck, I close my eyes and say a prayer. If it’s meant to be, it will happen. ????
I make my own luck. if you want something done find a way to do it
Other than knocking on wood, I’m not superstitious and don’t have an routines or special good luck charms. That part of my Irish heritage must have skipped a generation!
I dont do anything for luck, maybe I should think of something
i usually only have bad luck unfortunately
I always carry a good luck charm…a cat keychain I’ve had for over 20 years!!!
My lucky charm is my mom’s wedding band. It never leaves my pinky.
I close my eyes, take a deep breath, and hope everything will turn out the way I want!
I’m not sure about luck but I believe in dressing for success. Whenever I used to go for a job interview – the finishing touch was always my glasses (needed to relieve eye strain) so I could communicate the idea I was a “Smart Bitch” without needing to say so.
extra hugs from my hubby. He’s my lucky charm.
– knock on wood
– catholic cross myself
– I have lucky japanese cats
– and a lucky Chinese Buddha.
– plus my neighbor told me yesterday that a bird landed on my door and that is good luck???
i don’t have a lucky charm unless i count my husband as one lol but one thing i do is pray to my mom if I need help ir luck to be on my side
I take the same route, wear the same socks, hat and eat the same meal,.. it worked when i was 13 my softball team went undefeated and then i was on the “all-star” team and we went undefeated in the tournament. LOL my parents were so tired of eating Encore Salisbury steak for dinner that year..LOL
I carry a little smooth stone Angel in my purse and also a pin of St Brendan, the Patron Saint of Navigators. Brendan is also my son’s name. On St Patrick’s Day, I always wear green and my Claddagh earrings of course! Happy Release Day & Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
I keep pennies (coins) that I have found in parking lots in my purse. The only luck that I know that they have brought me is I continue to find more loose coins (pennies, nickles, dimes, etc) in shopping mall parking lots.
I carry a real Irish Penny with me everywhere. I figure it will give me good luck.So far it’s been good to me.
I don’t necessarily do anything special for luck. Crossed fingers or asking for good vibes are probably it, and not every time.
I make tea in a very specific way in the morning, and if I do it out of order I feel as if my whole day goes down from there. First I heat the water in a kettle, remove it from the heat, let it cool to the correct brewing temperature. I weigh my tea leaves using a kitchen scale – 4 grams for my 16oz lucky mug – and then I brew the tea using a French press for a precise set of time using a kitchen timer. I then pour out the tea liquor into my lucky mug from the French press.
I don’t really do anything for luck; don’t have any. But I guess I’d say I usually tap something 13 times before I open it.
I have a lucky Tom Petty shirt that has never let me down!
This is silly but I have this pair of adorable yet comfy panties that I ALWAYS wear when I feel I need a little extra luck with a job interview or an exam. I wouldn’t call them my lucky panties but it really does make me feel better to wear them for some reason haha
I have a thing about wishing on ‘the first star I see tonight’ as soon as I see a star in the sky…
I really don’t do anything special for luck, I just try to hope for the best 🙂
If it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all…gloom, despair, and agony on me! *doin’ it up Hee-Haw style!*
A necklace I received from my parents.
Nothing really….but I do have a four leaf clover tattooed on my shoulder.
I sometimes knock on wood. When I’m watching sports I randomly decide weird things I’m doing are magically affecting the game, like where I’m sitting or what tv I’m watching on.
When I was going for my first teaching interview and was so nervous I was shaking, my mom gave me an envelope with the instructions to open it when I left my house. Inside was a CD with Ravel’s Bolero to get me pumped. I got that job ?? and now I listen to it whenever I’m feeling anxious before a big date/meeting/event.
knock on wood is what I usually do — also tend to go in and out of the same door and if walking with someone make sure that we walk on same side of pole/object
I’m not an overly superstitious person (no issues opening umbrellas indoors etc) but I will admit that I tend to try to circumvent bad luck by using Murphy’s Law. Eg. I’ll carry an umbrella if there’s a change of rain, the idea being, if I’m prepared it won’t happen, but if I don’t have one with me I’m sure to be poured on.
I am not super superstitious and I think many times you make your own luck or it is just random. No charms, socks, rituals, etc. for me.
